The draft was long before 1969. I joined the Marines in 1968 and they went down the line to put people in the Marines or Army. They got to me and I told them that I had joined the Marines. 1974, we had virtually no military units in Vietnam. Where did you get this inaccurate information? Captain Dye was a Marine Officer in Vietnam.
Why don't you get your facts right. Dale Dye was a Capt. in the Marine Corps not a Master Sgt. Him and I served at Cherry Point, N.C. at the same time in 1970"s He was a Warrant Officer at the time then made it to Capt. It appears to me you people never served in the military. N.Catino Cpl USMC 73-77.
@@nicholascatino2182 if Dye was a Gunner in 1970 then he had to be enlisted prior to obtaining Warrant. To go from enlisted to warrant then to a commissioned officer in the Marines is quite an accomplishment by itself. He enlisted in 64 went to Vietnam in 65, again in 67 and again in 69. Made warrant in 1976 when he was a MSgt. Then later got his commission. Hell of a career in the Corp. Promotions in the marines come slower than any other service.
Yeah, and forgive us for getting the exact rank of leadership when piecing together a useful AI video in our attempts to post useless videos. You're mad at the wrong thing. Be a little softer next time, the war is over.
@ in reality UDT Team 12 deployed to Viet Nam in 1964. Ventura graduated with Class 58 Dec 1970. His Team didn’t go to Viet Nam while he was there. So it didn’t matter how stable he was. Matter of fact you have to be pretty mentally stable to even get through BUDS.
I don't believe he ever claimed he did just like the controversy over him not being a Navy SEAL. He has explained many times he was UDT when it was slid sideways into the SEAL umbrella but the haters still hit him with the _stole valor_ bovine excreta. Geez, Tim Waltz served *twenty-four YEARS* in the National Guard achieving the Guards highest enlisted rank and still the RebubMAGAclins accused him of the same. Oh, _hand on heart_ we deeply revere our veterans, until it becomes politically inconvenient and doesn't sync with our political views.

Paul Le Mat who played John Milner in American Graffiti was in the US Navy in Vietnam in a maritime patrol squadron and flew a SP-5B Marlin Seaplane.
I wish somebody else would have made this video.

Do you think this AI voice knows or cares about fact……the picture shows his captain bars etc.
Thanks to Yu vets who served
. I'm a vet third generation.
Dale Dye was a Captain
Jesse Ventura was on UDT 12 but never went to Viet Nam.
He was too unstable to be sent to NAM.
@ 🤣 you know many SEALs or BUDS graduates personally? Back then that was considered a positive personality trait. Still is to some degree.

Jesse Ventura was UDT, not a SEAL.
Thank you all 2:07
What about Wes Studi being in Dances With Wolves? He was bad ass in that movie.
Its Hurley Heywood
Ventura never set foot in Vietnam. Check it out.
He was an enlisted man first and later commissioned.
You left out Tom Hanks . He was in the 'Nam and WWII
What a dumb video.
This segment is lazy
Ventura never went to Vietnam

...draft dodgers?...didn`t you forget the orange one?...
You mean Bill Clinton ,didn't he go to Canada?
Seventy-five percent of the people who served in Vietnam were volunteers, not draftees.
Where the hell did you get your facts ?
