    I've been hunting trapping and fishing my whole life. Been round lots of border collie's. Your dog's are the best trained and most versatile collie's I've ever seen well done mate from Scotland 👍👍

    I've had many of those grass cutters. Now I don't do them, ever. Shat on way too often.
    As for dogs on pigs, we got the call for a vineyard with pigs. Smoked ten, then today, two pups smoked their first pig. It was tiny, the important part is they got onto it!

    Good work mate. I'm also hearing what you said about cutting your grass. I bowhunted on Bolivia Station, NSW, many years ago. Some "friends" went down behind my back and dingo'd me. I don't know what they said to Herb, the station manager, but he wouldn't allow me back.

    That little squeaker is a bloody beauty .......fortyfive years ago we had a farm in dederang Victoria as kids with dad he got hold of a jack rabbit squealing tape from America and we would play it thru the tape deck and outside speaker chasing foxes we could whistle with the old faithful button whistle ive still got and im 56 ut that tape mate the first night we used it it was scary we had a dimmer on our light and swear on my left nut when I flicked that dimmer on foxes were knockin on the ute door it was unreal.....

    Mate, i agree with every thing you said. Especially about gate openers cutting your grass. Have the same problem here in Montana. Would be nice if a gate opener were to come down there from N.Z., Britain, Canada or the U.S., no way they'd cut your grass then. Haha. It's not just an Aussie thing, as you noted, just human nature ( tho shows low morals ). Sorry yor mate had to drive 19 hrs, but does make it special when he does ! Cheers...

    Life Your "down to earth" explanations of where You set Your traps and why. What type, size and make of traps are You using? Here in the USA we don't have a huge feral dog issue but we do have coyotes. I have two pack on either side of my property. Thanks for all Your effort and time. City dwellers really don't understand the economic impact losing young livestock takes on a ranchers livelihood. Much appreciated.

      Thank you kindly for your comment. There are no frills and fancy stuff with me, just recording what I do and why and posting it up there. If it helps some folks, that is reward enough for me. True, judging by some of the comments I get, (and mostly delete!) there are a lot of folk out there who may be well educated but know next to nothing about life on the land. However, it doesn't stop them being hateful and saying some dumb stuff!! We mostly use the 4 spring, rubber jawed Jake trap by J C Connor

    Interesting that the first thing the dingo did was bite the trap. That surprised me. Secondly, the rest of the pack looked like they had seen a dog in a trap before and scarpered pretty sharpish.

    Well done mate. Those squeakers work a treat. My only concern is that now that the others have heard it and seen their mate get caught at the site. Would that deter the rest from coming to the squeaker again? At least after a second pack member got caught? Will be interesting to see the results. 👍

    If you even think you are getting 100% of the parthinem out of a vehicle. You’re fooling yourself and landowners. That shit gets in radiators. Chasis. Suspension joints. It’s worst crap out there and seed lives so long. I had seperate vehicles for land with it and without. My front yard was always poping up new plants after rain Absolutely hate it

      Driving a Toyota Landcruiser 79 series as my main transport and a Suzuki Sierra with a 1.6 motor as the work vehicle. I use the tarp to stop the excess dirt from messing the trap site, not to stop the scent.

    I understand that there is a need to protect the calves, but have you ever thought of how it affects your own dogs when you kill a dog Infront of them,I see your own dog put its tail between it's legs, this has always been seen as a sign of fear, sometimes your actions probably have passed you by and you have forgotten the fact that you allow your dogs to see the death of another dog regardless of it being wild. Sad to see as I think you have no choice to do what you have to, but don't understand why you have to have the dogs with you.

    • @ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry
      @ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When you see a farm dog that has strayed too far from his owner, in little pieces, skin and guts spread across an acre of ground by dingoes who would have worried, tormented and ripped it to death. My dogs hate dingoes because they know what would happen to them. My best trapping dog ever was a dingo named Ernie and he hated them as well. It's a tough country we live in.
