I like the discussion about the sweet spot, but I don't like the inclusion of nova without talking about how important it is to use her ultimate to cancel the enemy's ultimate. Wait for backline titans to start their ultimate animation, then use nova's ultimate; her ultimate stops their animation but the ultimate energy is still used.

This "keeping your hero weak but healed" strategy also helps in campaign in later chapters. You can tank with a rapid fire hero with dodge and healing instead of a real tank.

Maybe energy should rise only with the attacks. Not with damage taken. Or you could gain a fix amount with every hit you take.
Thanks for the tip! I've noticed this with Keira's dancing blades. when I had it lower the an enemy keira, my keira might ult before theirs which helps me win mirror matches.

Next time you speak with Nexters please ask them to give people with high VIP the undo/reset or reassign feature for artifacts etc.
Higher VIP should also allow you to choose which prize you want from the Tower chests instead of still having to gamble.

Nice interesting video! I kind of use that with my lower Jasmine sometimes, so she can dance sooner than the stronger on the other side. Didn't knew there was a name for it and kind of trick. Love these kind of videos.
I've heard people talk about this before, never knew the validity of it's claims. Thanks for the tip with the gift of elements, may use that if I run into the problem. Currently my Karhk is at 78k (mobile) so I havent run into that yet.
Another version of this would be maximizing a specific support skill within your team. Ie. And Andvari’s shield targets friendly with the lowest armor. You could deliberately keep your damage dealer’s armor as the lowest to not only shield the damage dealer, but give the shielded ally an energy boost. This could be very powerful paired with a mage like Orion.
Orion already has very low armor as do most dps heros. But i like your thinking.

@@FerrisBueller-lj9zj I probably wasn't very clear as this was 2 years ago. (sorry to edit my comment - wasn't thinking) It's just the daily quest but if you have 250 sparks of power, you can keep resetting at level 1 and paying 7000 gold to get to level 1 sparks of power. this will net you the 300 potions daily. It's not much but if I knew this sooner at my low level I would have a lot more titan potions...
Totally agreed on weaker team beat stronger team. Sometimes the fight make no sense at all

I play in gold league, and finish top 10 in arena daily. The sweet spot really isn't a thing. Randomness from dodge and crit rolls have a lot more affect on winning or losing fights than any so-called sweet spot.
The cases where it might be relevant are pretty limited and usually mitigated by the fact that your team will be weaker overall.

One related concept is manipulating certain stats in order to focus where certain protective abilities are directed. One place where this happens a lot is with Aurora and her armor stat. On certain team set ups players specifically choose not to raise Auroras armor stat higher than Martha in particular to manipulate Andivari's shield goes in particular

I dunno... skills aren't as effective if your hero is a lower level than the target. So theoretically there is a trade off. Gaining energy faster when you take more damage is nice but what good is that energy if the skills aren't at full capacity?

What's interesting about gaining energy from dodge is that not many people realize
that game does not calculate Armor factor in this equation...
In other words - by dodging you actually gain MORE energy than you'd get if you were hit with damage you dodged
So, sweet spot means withstanding damage so that your toon does not die but also recharges.

9:29 is wrong as it only shows 15 levels when there are 30 in the browser-based (FB) version so your gold costs are far greater than what is shown on that chart

I thought all the players with low level heroes were noobs but it turns out they are clever strategists.
You can always change how the heroes gain energy by using different heroes. I don't think this is a good advice. If we are talking about end-game, each player has other heroes leveled up already that you can swap to adjust to your enemy. I prefer to do that rather than lower my hero stats.

If I start all my fights in Auto will my heroes and/or titans charge faster, then switch to manual fight before the wrong one goes off? Quick start charge?

I noticed this in arena. My team was crushing higher power teams then i leveled up my dps quite a lot and the power gap i was beating before got lower.
Funny thing, that has just happened to me today. I have a orange+3, level 128 Karkh, and a red+2 level 130 Karkh attacked me, and lost on GW.

Great video! Was thinking if I should upgrade Jorgen's glyphs, or not, but did it anyway, as he doesn't have a skin upgraded, he needed to survive a couple of seconds more. (currently at 42k, the weakest member in the team)
8:45 was also thinking about being added the possibility of resetting more stuff. Also, making them expensive in gold so players can't do it before each war fight.

Yes definitely annoying how a lower invested team can beat one which has more. Hope the devs do something about this. However on the other hand, it applies mostly to mirror matchups so trying to avoid one can also solve this issue if talking about late/end game

Another way is to fight 4 heroes vs 5, especially when considering Kark’h teams...
Just did a test and this actually makes some really weird teams viable. For the defending team I put a 95 Astroth / 95 Kiera / 84 Celest /83 Dorian / 87 Martha. I started with a mirror match replacing Celesta with a 57 K'arkh, which obviously does in 2 kiera attacks but the lower team still won, so I did another test this time just removing celest keeping only 4 attackers and won again, then again, same defense and for attack I did just kiera/Dorian/Martha and won easily.
I found having Kiera/Dorian in the front two spots is just unlimited healing. So far my best result has been Kiera/Dorian/Helios/Martha, as long as Dorian take splash damage the healing is insane.

Not sure if it works like "make ur Khark weaker" cause if often loose because of stronger support heroes. Imo its a not to be underrated fact u have to check before attacking stronger kharks ;)

Suppose that you max out Karkh and then you find that a Karkh that's 95% maxed will beat him.
Will a Karkh that's 90.25% maxed out beat the Karkh that's 95% maxed?
Maybe there's no sweet spot. Maybe whatever you do there will be some teams that beat you.
Interesting. I left Kiera's armor stat at 0 to try and get that sweet spot later at 120.

I think it’s because we were raised differently.
To level, to not level to even de=level. If only we could add and subtract like a dial on a knob for each hero at will. Chances are you will need more strength than not and it is your hero combinations and team synergy that will win the day as opposed to worrying about did I or didn't I level my hero correctly to win a battle. Don't overthink it. This isn't rocket science. It's ONLY a game, what do ya have to OVERTHINK IT! ;)- Just my humble opinion.
If you remove the sparks, you stated that you lose the gold. What happens to the sparks. Do you get to move them to a new hero?

The b-roll footage is an odd match for this video (e.g. discussing nova while showing campaign missions). Put a pin in this video to "make better" someday with footage comparing and contrasting true mirror match vs. "sweet spot" matchup.
Also, from the "this shouldn't be the case" perspective, how should the energy gain based on taking damage be tweaked in the game to address this issue so that the higher investment team has the advantage? Should increased level/stat heroes have a "faster" energy threshold for their ultimates (e.g., energy required for ultimate reduces slightly as both level and main stat, or even all stats, increase)?

Anyone reading this who has this blue alien answer me this. Im level 87. I just got him so he's level 1. Is it worth leveling him to be on my team? Already run asteroth, the dead pair Morrigan and corvus, and that female shield as my tanks for 3 teams. Ive seen he and faceless are a solid pair and I do have faceless in my 2nd team but with exp being so hard to get and needing it on my main team let alone other 2 teams. Is it really worth it to build this blue alien?

I think it is a good feature. It allows growing players to beat higher teams and makes it more exciting. It costs so much to max even a single hero that it is already demoralizing to get locked out of rank rewards by high spenders. This levels the playing field just a little bit
Seeing the math on this. GoE really seems... small.... at mid to end game.
But its only 7000 gold for 300 potion daily. Thats 2100 potion 49000 gold a week. But yea mid to late game you might as well just go up a level instead of resetting it if theyre not maxed.

Resetting skins would completely change the game. Even at a discount. I would be on board for that, though.
NOTE TO ADD - there's not enough gifts of the elements solely from LEVELLING TITANS. You're always able to buy additional sparks of power directly from the Titan merchant using Titan soul coins.

What a broken game mechanic and a big oversight from the Devs.. hope this gets patched soon.
Don't get your hopes up. This has been the way the game was designed and it has been communicated to the developers from a lot of players, but the reply has always been that this is the way it is supposed to be and if you just increase your heroes more, then the problem will go away. It's beyond stupid. Or maybe it's a genius strategy that makes players invest even more to try to increase the power gap enough to begin winning again.
i know this for a very long time, on kark teams, keep faceless and jorgen lower and ull kill teams 200k or more higher than u, its all about timing. Its shit for defense, but good for offense, however i think they (devs) should fix this, it means the more u spend (€€€) the "weaker" u get, and then they complain about ppl using BRL currency lol... the whole game is a scam
