I remember this well sat watching my uncle score that goal for Hereford was a proud moment and my brother behind the goal as a ball boy a great match ☺️ Sarah.
Thanks for posting this, I was there as an 17 year old, what a game. After Chrissy Price scored I think I ended up 200 metres from where I started celebrating
Wow, first time I've seen this in 20 years. Thought I remembered the game well, but had completely forgotten Daz hit the post early on, and I was stood on the ME right behind it. Strongest memories are seeing Woodcock's goal and thinking oh dear; the loud taunting of Charlie (what happened to him) Nicholas, yet another great run & goal from Pricer, and Lukic saving the Arse blushes. And now, looking back, what a darn good side we had, especially to match a team full of internationals. Actually they were such good they let Pricer run thro to shoot, most defenders tripped him for a pen. Happy days, even enjoyed the replay, but I was living in London then so no train troubles etc...
Totally agree if it was not for Lukic being superman this day Hereford would have won,i remember sitting in the extra stand in the Meadow end cold ,but had my hip flask full of Brandy, and had a few pints before the game at the Railway Club with some Arsenal supporters, and there main concern of the game was Chris Price,Happy Days.
i was at this match, what a horrendous day. i remember standing outside the stadium when the arsenal players came out to get on the coach and someone went right up to charlie and yelled in his face, "YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO RUN UP THE WHITE LINES CHARLIE NOT FUCKING SNORT THEM!!!' freezing cold day and train took forever to get back. from memory we stuffed them in the replay.
Pricer was a star, yes, but for my money it was St James who ran that side for me. Ex Arse by coincidence. I think both were way above what we perhaps deserved, and in days when players stayed with clubs too, loyalty!. But there were some diamonds there acros the park, how this squad didnt win promotion I don't know...
Why have TH-cam posted some of the following comments (the older ones including mine) against this clip, the replay at Highbury, when they were originally posted under the clip of the original game at Hereford where Aresenal scraped a draw ? EDIT - now I'm confused, I posted this comment against the sepaate clip for the Replay, yet it immediately appears under the original tie at Hereford too.... spooky !
I was right behind the goal when Price equalized, was pandemonium. Within the space of a few years Hereford drew with Arsenal and Spurs and lost 1-0 to Man Utd (should really have won that game, but such is life).
Yer.A sad demise of a proud club.Weirdly always struggled to beat my home town club King's Lynn.Even in the glory year of 72 you only beat us one nil in a replay.
I went to see this with my parents standing in the terraces. I still remember my mother complaining to the policeman that people were throwing 2p coins at us!

I was there, right behind the Tony woodcock shot. Hereford played very well.
