Grateful that I was a young man in the seventies. That musical era has never been duplicated.. It seems like each and every day a great new song would come out. We did not realize how lucky and blessed we were at that time. Life was so much easier back then.
Here cause of the Dj Kool Herc x Nardwuar interview. Growing up in New Orleans, I always respected Dr. John’s contribution to music. Had no idea on the influence he had on Hip-Hop. Such an icon. RIP to a legend!
Born Brooklyn New York. 1961, I was exposed to many years of real music and live concerts. When Rap first hit I did listen to it with everything else. Gangsta Rap I enjoyed NWA and the rest that followed that original crew. Today's rap, man I really can't listen to it at all. Between the lyrics pretty much being all the same, everybody's voice being altered some of it that's even called Mumble rap. I can understand it but I cannot enjoy it.
Down with ( Dat ) Welcome to earth. We do have a word in English " That " Dat must be Ebonics Comes from where I was born. The Ghetto. I go out of my way not to talk, dress, act that way anymore. One of the ways I got out and bettered myself.
Mines ? Welcome to Earth, I see it's your first day. ( Mine ) Something that belongs to you. ( Mines ) More than one of you. I can't find an example. Not English, must be Ebonics. ( In the Ghetto) I was born there myself. Projects, Brick Buildings all 7 floors high. Must have been around 30 of them. Called Marlboro, in Brooklyn New York.
This song comes up on my songpop game a lot, so i had to come on youtube to see what he looks like. 😳 He's white! I could have sworn he was a black dude. Great song, love his raspy voice
Fun fact: A decade earlier than this performance, Dr John could not have played on the same stage with his band and back up singers without violating Louisiana's Jim Crow laws.
Sumthin wrong with this singer ,,,, all the these yrs I thought this was a blk singer,,tripping me out,, I like the song blk or white singer but never knew this till now! 😮

We do have a word in English " That "
Dat must be Ebonics
Comes from where I was born. The Ghetto. I go out of my way not to talk, dress, act that way anymore. One of the ways I got out and bettered myself.
Got to cue my insecurity
It's all about timing.

It most certainly is lol
Correct sir
Shame it's not live.
Just a lip sink, not bad though. It works for me unlike some that I've seen that I can't watch.
Dr. Teeth on The Muppets.
This song comes up on my songpop game a lot, so i had to come on youtube to see what he looks like. 😳 He's white! I could have sworn he was a black dude. Great song, love his raspy voice

60 yo and stylin and profiling!
OMG - if only the idiotic costume could go away and we could just have this great music.
😂😅
It's the costume for the Mardi -Gras of the afro-native celebration. It's very pretisgious to have the rigth to wear it...
Heard this and thought; “Damn this black guy knows exactly how to tickle the fancy of a white guy, he’s amazing!”🤣
How much coke was involved
a bunch in the 70s and it was pretty good too.
Major amounts!
Fun fact: A decade earlier than this performance, Dr John could not have played on the same stage with his band and back up singers without violating Louisiana's Jim Crow laws.
I pretty sure I want this song played at my funeral ⚱️. 🤔
A NOLA Icon! RIP, Dear Doctor
😮ohhh the 70's they were all right now!!!

Good job!
I been in the right place
But it must have been the wrong time
I'd have said the right thing
But must have used the wrong line
I been on the right trip
But I must have used the wrong car
Head is in a bad place and I wonder what it's good for
I been in the right place
But it must have been the wrong time
My head is in a bad place
But I'm having such a good time
I've been running trying to get hung up in my mind
Really got to give myself a good talking to this time
Just need a little brain salad surgery
I got to que my insecurity
But I've been in the wrong place
But it must have been the right time
I been in the right place
But it must have been the wrong song
I been in the right vein
But it seems like a wrong arm
I been in the right world
But it seems like wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong
Slipping, dodging, sneaking, creeping, hiding out down the street
See my life shaking with every who I meet
Refried confusion is making itself clear
Wonder which way do I go to get on out of here
But I been in the right place
But it must have been the wrong time
I'd have said the right thing
But I must have used the wrong line
I took the right road
But I must have took a wrong turn
I took a right move
But I made it at the wrong time
I was in the right trip
But I made it in the wrong car
Head is in a good place, and I wonder what it's bad for
i love the discount BB King on guitar...
