War Thunder has turned from a game where you can get into intense dogfights where one mistake can get you killed to lock and shoot your "un-dodgeable" missile. Props are really the only place you can still get the high intensity skill based dogfighting anymore and even that these days is pretty hard to get. Really sad to see how much this game has changed ever since the F-100 and everything that came with that dropped however many years ago. I miss F-86/MiG-15 top tier man!
Dogfighting doesn't seem to even exist in props anymore, all my "dog fights" last about 10 seconds at most, usually me winning from the enemies lack of skill rather than my own being "good"
Wish they’d do a runescape and bring out a “old school war thunder” pre supersonic update but with some of the vehicles that fit the era that came later on, imo that came too late, ported over aswell maybe like f84 and Shackleton etc.

mig15/f86 top tier was so good, now days if you play even the non-bis mig15 you just get uptiered against jets with AAM that go literally twice as fast as you
There’s also the German SPAA, and all the ships and boats as well that are from WW2. Still a sadly low amount.
Yes, thats a given. Ships I don't count only due to not having more modern vessles yet. And the German SPAA is a little fun.
@@Ash007YT There are some boats from Cold War era, but yeah majority of naval is still pre-1950.
Out of all the missing WW2 stuff, personally I think the bomber Mossies are the most criminally missing.

You're mostly right on the ships well at least the Trento class cruiser RN Bolzano (the victorian player charliedog will probably like this) & the Kléber Ex Type 1934A Z6 Theodor Riedel are probably the closest thing to WWII ships meanwhile the HMS Diamond & USS Dealey are post WWII but basically WWII armament & equipment.
Yet TBH the Zerstörer 45 is the only true WWII item (barring "hungarian" aircraft) as every ship is either interwar (barring the Bretagne/ Mutsu being Great War era but dated to the 1920's) or post war, Even the Bf 109 C-1 isn't truly WWII.
@@lordwintertown8284 Well when people talk about “WW2” content, it usually means anything that was made or operated around that period, sometime between 1930 and 1950.
War Thunder: We do not care for Interwar, WW2, early cold war, or early cold war.
We only care about late cold war to modern day
Cold war sells because they can make fancy trailers for it
To be fair they've already added alot (essentially all "major" vehicles plus already alot of lesser known/niche vehicles) in terms of WW2. The game started out as a WW2 game so it makes sense that by now, 12 years after release, we already have the majority of WW2, hence why they are now expanding and focusing on/into late-cold war and present-day. The reason early cold-war vehicles were left behind is probably because people wanted all the cool missiles and mach-capable jets and the dev team wanted to inovate, which led to the dev team sorta leaving the early-cold war era behind. Plus, early-cold war era jets aren't exactly very exciting to the average player. They would much rather get the F16 faster than be forced to grind for the F-101 voodoo.
Interwar vehicles are kinda hard to implement considering the majority is worse than the reserve tier and you can't exactly expand backwards unless they ad a tier below reverse and/or rework the tech trees.
Despite all this, I still 100% agree with you. These era's should be given some more attention. I personaly would love to see some more Jet bombers in the game like the B52 and B36 peacemaker. I'd also really like the Ikarus IK-3 or IK-2, B-534 and PZL P.11's in the game.
Haha, cool to hear you've been enjoying Helldivers. I considered proposing that you release a video or 2 of it, but after some though I would hope that you wouldn't. Save that game to just have fun with your fellow Helldivers, not just something else you feel would need to be turned into content.

So what I was thinking: there is now a big hole in the Italian tech tree, where WW2 Hungarian planes should be. Since there are not that many of those anyways (WM.23, MAVAG Heja II, maybe a Fw-190 or a He-112), they might just fill it with all sorts of Eastern European aircraft (PZL/IAR P.24, IAR.80, Ik-2, Ik-3, S-49). That might be nice to see.

Mike & Oxy did say on the dev stream that the WWII vehicles for the Hungarian air sub tree would be coming, just not right this red-hot minute.
Ey, there's at least one other WWII vehicle, the Zerstörer 45. And some copy paste stuff for HU Air
This little small plane was my personal favorite this patch. I hope they will find some more WWII stuff to add the future! The higher tiers make Gaijin's money, but there are so many planes or at leas variants I miss...
I'd love to have a BF109F-1 with internal wing mounted machine guns like the BF109E-1 has. In the BR that something like the BF109E and early F's face 7.9mm machine guns are still quite effective. It's actually why the BF109E-1 is one of my favorite early low tier fighters.
Bought HD2 today. Looking forward to spreading Freedom when I get home from work.
But yeah, shame we're just not getting much WW2 era content at all anymore.

I think you mean the Ha-1112, the Hispano 109 with a Merlin engine. That would be really nice, actually, even if it just were for a premium (I wouldn't be mad about that). Still Italy is missing that whole low tier, WW2 Hungarian stuff like the WM.23. Maybe they have that alreayd planned out for Romanian planes (IAR.80, PZL/IAR P.24, tt He-112 maybe).
How long have we been waiting on stuff like the Hurricane Mk llc? The FM-2? The P-40N? The Spitfire Mk VII? The A6M8? The Su-15? The rest of the fucking Century series?! How about the Spiteful, or the Hawker Tornado? Some of these were in the planned tech trees from the very start of the game!

I made a comment on the steam news page for this vehicles release saying how we should have more ww2 content and no top tier jets. I got 9 positive awards whilest the guy below me asking for jets got five clown awards. Clearly the community still likes ww2 and pre ww2 additions.

Its a shame that Gaijin doesn't give WWII content the love it really deserves. The game is at its best below 6.7 if you ask me, but it just isn't enough to keep making money I suppose. I really think Gaijin needs to take modern stuff above 6.7 and just straight up remove it and put it all into its own game where modern content can be catered to. Let players have their late WWII stuff be top tier again and manage both games individually. Or just swap modes between modern and earlier stuff.
Also yes. Helldivers is great.
Got the C1 last night, had a lot of fun with it! You can definitely feel its weaker engine and armament compared to the E3/E4, nice amount of ammo though.
I've been playing less WT and more and more of Guts & Blackpowder. A work-in-progress zombie shooter in Roblox.
When are you gonna do a review and a gameplay of the M1A1 AIM? It's basically an Abrams that drives upside down with a 4th crew member as a Quokka.
With this aircraft, I'm constantly coming down with a superior tier in front of me.
And here the engine is clearly too limited.

Tbh id love for them to add more WW2 vehicles and early cold war vehicles too. Like cmon all this high end stuff is getting old now . Id love to see the nose wheel version of te 109 or the messerspit (Spitfire mk V with a DB605 out front) or see the experimenal airfighters that america or britan or even Australia made in WW2 like the kangaroo or somthing like that . Like soo many things they could go for. And that most players could pick up virtually immediately. There will be a time where there is no more high tier stuff to add and they will have to be forced to expand
The enlightened know that War Thunder is most fun from tiers I-IV.

why does alot of air combat seem to be low to the ground in this game? and yeah enjoying helldivers 2
Because a third of the team goes to ground pound, another third wastes all their altitude to swarm the ground pounders and then the last third are guys who climbed, but will lose altitude fighting the other guys who climbed and once that's done they'll have to go down to deal with all the idiots that swarmed the ground pounders and are now uselessly attacking AA and AI planes.
It's been awhile since I've done air combat but it always seemed you climb do a head on attack then everybody goes to ground level to continue dog fighting.@@majorborngusfluunduch8694
The Hungarian stuff is pretty much just copy paste, so this has been another flop of a patch for props, no surprise there.

@@Ash007YT Ash, buddy, its not a complaint. In fact, being spanish I found this a very interesting addition because it was used in the Spanish Civil War* and in general I think late 30's aviation is very interesting due to how hectic and radical its development was at the time.
*Recently, its been proposed that the C-1 was never sent to Spain, and numerals often attributed to it being actually B models. But its still very similar to the D-1's that did fight in Spain (as well as Poland and the Phoney War) so they still can play that role.
I know you maybe don't play naval but the Italians also gor WW2 content the RN Bolzano, the last Heavy Cruiser the Regia Marina did
