honestly some may say this simple and straight forward way of presenting is boring, I find it's the best way to do this sort of thing, and definitely appreciate a more straight way to explain a buff or nerf without the person adding too much
just noticed this, I think a consequence of the nerf to the LK scissor kick knockdown is it doesn't combo to psycho crusher from as far out in juggles anymore. not a huge nerf imo but it affects his damage meterless and with 3 bars

2:10 problem X was able to find an option that allowed him to do EX into a Normal one live in Capcom's stream while he and someone else broke down the patch notes.
Was bummed that the new target combo leads to nothing in almost every scenario. I don’t think it’s good enough to give up vs1 in most matches. While narrow in use the vs1 counter is still a thing and probably better than a sub bar impossible to cancel tc.
I've avoided other patch note videos because I'm saving my views for this channel lol I don't care how long it takes to go through the list. I'll wait to watch them here
@@Kenzamaka stomp doesn't need to be safe on block particularly of its use of escaping the corner and stopping fireballs. Alex can also mix in the use of headbutt to dissuade people from blocking. The best reaction you can get from stomp is your opponent backing away. If your opponent has time to block, they have time to anti air you so stomp being +ob is kinda useless anyway
bison VS2 used raw was definitely a gimmick, but it had some less obvious utility before this. one of the biggest things was it worked as a meaty that covered both wakeup timings after an M infurno knockdown, which was great fur making a big momentum swing after landing a hit while cornered. it was also a decent option backed up by EX blast or a VT2 bomb timed to explode as he's changing sides but isn't visible, and it was used in some decent combos. overall i think the meaty side switch was the biggest thing it gave him, but the TC is quite nice. not only does it improve his damage when whiff punishing with 5MP, it actually works well in tandem with the raw VS2--after the pushback nerf it received, his combo enders from CH 5LP are more limited and it means that his max damage ender is the TC which now leads into VS2. he also finally has a way to improve his combo damage after a CH 5MP, as he was one of very few characters in the game whose main medium starter fur combos and blockstrings did not have any kind of special CH conversion. similarly, it's now his max damage ender after a string of blocked light normal, CH 5LP. as an aside, my thoughts on bison are that over the last few seasons of mixed buffs and nerfs, he has stayed largely the same character but dropped from what i would consider the bottom end of the top tier, to the bottom end of the high tier. he has a consistent weakness to jumping opponents due to slow grounded AA and long whiff recovery on moves, meaning he has to play slow in neutral to avoid taking big hits from low-risk neutral jumps or surprise forward jumps. this was never a real issue fur him and he was always strong in spite of it, but V-shift gives him an additional weakness with quite a few moves that are vulnerable to being punished if V-shifted successfully. i don't think he's really gained any new bad matchups, but the system mechanics mean he wins his good ones less convincingly as opponents universally have better tools to fight back against him. overall i think this is a healthy place fur this type of character design to exist in, and i am happy he made it through the final(?) patch without his head getting cut off.
i underestimated how much bison would gain from this stuff lol. VT1 + VS2 just gives him a lot more threat in matchups where he needs to win via comebacks and/or whiff punishment. there are still times where you'd want to play VS1 or VT2 but having access to this new level of explosiveness makes him feel more dangerous in more matchups overall. he feels more like his old top tier self.
The change to dictators overall gameplay from previous versions to SFV was a bit of a gamble but Im happy they did, because I really like Dictator's gameplay and feel. Some of his tools could have been made a little more obnoxious (for max salt) and his triggers lasting longer would have been nice.
I feel like this is sort of an underwhelming state they left him in. This could very well be the last game we ever see Bison in for a long time or perhaps ever.
The tc change is nice because it gives him a very easy and decent damage counter hit confirm combo from st. strong. Still don't think it's worth it over vs1 in most match ups
It's invincibility after he already hits and I think it's mostly so he doesn't trade with stuff like rashid vt1 in the middle of his long animations. I don't think it'll have a significant effect on competitive play.
Hey love the work Random question I’m a birdie player, what do I use as anti air now? Nothing seems to work. Every time someone jumps I eat the full combo
? Cr mp, same as always. If they're close they can jump over your head but lots of chars suffer from that and the best reply might be something like a jump back normal
Off the top of my head, his nonexistent defense, his stiff movement (long dash and terrible walk speed), his need to reset to slow normals or spend meter to turnsteal, his lack of neutral beyond turnstealing, and the fact that some of his tricks can be hard countered with the right reply.
his general gameplay did not change. all he really needed is a 3 frame. it helped him on defense, and having a 3 frame meant that 3 frame characters just can't mash out of his pressure and they need to take a bigger risk to get out. I'd argue the Vtrigger scaling hurt him the most out of the launch cast. man could delete 70% of your life should you whiff a DP
@@Bafael agreed. I think s.lk being changed to 3 frames is probably one of the most significant if not the most significant buff in the entire lifespan of the game. Which is odd because they DID take other tools from him, like slowing down some buttons and reducing frame advantage here and there, but Bison being a 3f character fixed 95% of his offensive problems and about 40% of his defensive options. He still played the exact same way and never relinquished his top 15 spot for the remainder of the game.
