Good day Ma'am, I really admire your comprehensive and clear explanation :) I actually use your video as a reference. However, what boggles me right now is the set of examples given under the claims of fact. How can we make it debatable or to assert on something if it is already exists as a fact? Thank you so much Ma'am for the valuable inputs. More power!
Claim of fact is something that has existed abd will exist. We wil try to reason that is known to something unknown. In our statement, it is to gain acceptance that is currently not accepted as fact or that is somethin that is currently considered a fact, should no longer be considered as such.
A statement that is universally accepted will never be considered as “claim of fact” but rather a “statement of fact”. It was said that a statement should be debatable for it to be considered as claim. Some examples given were statements of fact
Thank you for the wonderful lecture. However, the semantics of “Argument” apply to proving a hypothesis, usually surrounding a “Theory”, whereas, a “Claim” is to provide the introspective of a “Fact”. You cannot have a Claim in an Argument because if you are able to cite or prove a fact, there is no further necessity for an “Argument”. 😊 - For Example: I only meant to make an “Argument” towards the “Claim” based on the title of this video. There are many perspectives in English literature, my “Claim” is debatable but my “Argument” can surely necessitate the discovery of a Hypothesis based on my explanation 😊
This is really a big help for my COT ma'am...I made this as a reference.. Ma'am if you don't mind, can I ask a copy of a lesson plan for this?Thank you in advance.

@@TeachinglearningEnglish thankss po maam! I'll also ask if you would consider "The presence of wildlife enrich human life" as a value claim?
