The neighboring town is White Lake that has a large population durning the summer. That brings in a lot of revenue for area businesses. Great hamburgers can be gotten at Melvins in Elizabethtown. Don’t knock small southern towns because they have some very friendly people that would do anything they can to help anyone.
Thank you for posting this! I work as an in-home caregiver for the elderly, and a client I’d grown very fond of had Alzheimer’s. But she just loved to reminisce about her childhood in Elizabethtown and White Lake. She passed just a couple of days ago, and even though I know the town looks very different than it did when she was growing up, this was still very comforting to watch at this time. Thank you!
I was born here. When I visit my mother there, there are so many choices of good food to eat! My first job was at the courthouse as a janitor. I worked at that McDonald’s when I was in high school. Also that river, the Cape Fear, is known to have huge catfish!
Cool to see y'all drive through my home town where I grew up! It's not a rich town by any means but I have a hard time believing the income is that low! That Walmart was built in the early 90s (I think) and I've heard it's the smallest one in the USA
Wow I just found your channel by watching your east side charlotte video. I lived there after college but elizabethtown is my home born and raised. To see this is funny and interesting to see your perspective on etown.
If you had taken a left instead of a right at the intersection by Kinlaws office supplies you would see some gorgeous large older homes, a beautiful church and a large pecan orchard with a barn that is a Mexican restaurant.
Go back and forth from Johnson City (neighbor to Elizabethtown) to Mexican Caribbean Coast. Always loved the small town nature of Elizabethtown and of course I love the contrast of the two places I live. Love Tennessee and have called it home for almost 20 years.
People from white lake Ammon and other small towns come to Elizabethtown I live here and it’s decent place to stay not a lot of people which I love but it’s fairly expensive mostly everyone living on fixed incomes but in the summer there’s alot to do
Your per capita numbers are not really updated...doctors and lawyers live in town. I work at the foodlion in town and I make way more than 15,000 a year.
Just because you may have had a bad experience in Fayetteville NC, it doesn't mean it sucks. It's different but has a lot to offer to people who know about the 2-6. My thing is stay out of Carolina if you don't have an open mind to accept it the way it is.
There are plenty of middle class people in Elizabethtown. 🤣 A lot of us do not work in Elizabethtown, but live in Bladen County, where Elizabethtown would be the main town.
So, who are you and where are you from? Just wondering. . . Elizabethtown, NC is the County Seat of Bladen County, which is the Mother County of this part of North Carolina. Look up Bladen County and get more facts and information. . .
I grew up at White Lake.Lived at the lake from 1972 to 1984. I was driving through in 2012 and decided to take a drive around the lake.It change for the worse. The water look horrible.Crystal beach,Mar-kei beach and white lake amusements arcade all gone.Just Goldstone Beach. And even Goldstone has half of what they had back in the 70s.As far as E-town it has little change. But do not get me wrong. You could not ask for a better place to raise a family. It is a nice little town.I have fond memories.I told my co- workers that 15,16 and 17 year old schools kids of Bladen county drove school buses back then and even drove the bus home..My co- workers said I was full of BS
@@missionaries7575 drugs are everywhere, no historical places one small park that's a death trap to get in. Town run by a small group of wealthy people who keep other business out just so they can make more money. The states smallest Walmart. 1 of the 2 grocery stores is extremely dirty. The people are either drugged up crazys or entitled butt holes. I could keep going
Why doesn’t Lehigh have 4 Walmart’s. Why doesn’t Lehigh have way more popular national company’s. Probably because every place in Lehigh has crap worker’s. Go to the Culver’s on Bonita beach rd and tell me that it isn’t better then the one in Lehigh.
You are seriously mistaken. If it wasn’t for Lehigh, naples wouldn’t exist. Lehigh is the labor force of SWFL. Everyone who works in Naples drove 2 hours on a bad day from Lehigh.
The worst travel video I have ever seen. You have tried your best to paint Elizabethtown as a poor area in a way as to make it look like a miserable place to live. You introduced the town by coming in through the lowest income part of the whole county -- and yes we do appreciate them also. Where did you get your information from? The median income for Bladen County is 22,000 dollars not 15, 000 as you say. No that's not a lot, but some of the most wealthy people in the state of NC live here and their families and employment opportunities they provide. We have a restaurant, Melvins, which is rated by Our State Magazine as one of the best of 100 places in the whole state to eat. The people are nice and helpful to everyone. It is also one of the main places where the local militia defeated the British who were trying to take over the new colonies. The whole area is very historic and you missed all of this. You bet -- I live here and proud of it.

Sorry I cant agree. Maybe 20 years ago or something. Depends on your race too. Sorry.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS that's sad about the race issue but your absolutely correct 💯.
I agree. He doesn't know what he is talking about. 😆.

Way To Go! Putting it out there for investors to come in and build subdivisions for all the California and New York transplants
Keep the Commies and the Yankees out please
Nope, We don't need anymore investors building subdivisions for Cali & NY down here corrupting our towns period!
Just got to love those small southern towns.
My family is from here i lived here majority of my life
Good ole' E-Town, Bladen Co.
Roamed those streets for many, many years. I guess, Anderson's will always be there. 😆 😆
People from white lake Ammon and other small towns come to Elizabethtown I live here and it’s decent place to stay not a lot of people which I love but it’s fairly expensive mostly everyone living on fixed incomes but in the summer there’s alot to do
My ancestors are from Bladen. I believe from Elizabethtown. Waccamaw. Shout out to the Suttons and McKoys.
Cute “ Mayberry “ feel
They don't open stores depending on ppls income.
" it would be absolutely miserable to live here and not have a squatted truck" 😅
True statement
Your per capita numbers are not really updated...doctors and lawyers live in town. I work at the foodlion in town and I make way more than 15,000 a year.
It was a movie named after this town..I believe
They need a super Walmart and new hospital.

There are plenty of middle class people in Elizabethtown. 🤣 A lot of us do not work in Elizabethtown, but live in Bladen County, where Elizabethtown would be the main town.
Also, you missed like half the town. Way to go.
So, who are you and where are you from? Just wondering. . . Elizabethtown, NC is the County Seat of Bladen County, which is the Mother County of this part of North Carolina. Look up Bladen County and get more facts and information. . .
All small towns in NC are the same. No need to read! 🐖 farms and agave fields
Great little burger place downtown.
Yep!
Dumb . E town is a great place !
Grew up in this town lived there for 20 years!!!!

Worst town iv ever seen. My father is from here and I wouldn't be sad if tge whole place burned
Why is that? I’m curious as we may move there. Please tell me why it’s bad.

It is a small Walmart not a Super Walmart.
