This is great Michael. I am rigging my Quick canoe outrigger setup with an Oz Goose sail and this video is clear
and the sound is perfect. I am looking forward to putting it in the water as soon as the restrictions due to the pestilence are lifted.

We have a lot of resources for our boat designs that are very generally applicable.
Have a look at rigging the Goat Island Skiff.
Length information is irrelevant because everything is different from boat to boat and with the systems chosen.
I will however make a list for the Oz Goose available.
      For general guidance.

Thank you Michael. I built an Ilur, and could find nowhere to tell me how to rig her. I am always directing people to your website it's a global resources, you are very appreciated by many lugsail dinghy sailers.

Good clear demonstration...... except 'they ain't no square knots' he's using to secure blocks to boom!

Awesome ... I didn't pick that up from my demonstrator. At least we can't see him tying it. The the link to the correct knots is in the description for the video below the video itself
      Thanks for that!

Best tutorial I've seen on ringing a lug sail to the spars and boat, using simple and inexpensive equipment.
Thank you Michael and team for sharing your knowledge with us 👍.

Thanks for this video guys. I bought the plans for the Oz Goose and hope to build it one day. in the meantime I picked up a little flying fish that I'm turning into a catamaran and am using this sail set up to rig it.

@@MikStorer Thanks, Michael, yes, I have already had a good look through your site. I mostly prefer reading than viewing videos, but for some topics, and especially this one, having a video like this is more than worth the time spent watching. Thanks again for your efforts making so much valuable information and advice freely available:-)

Wonderfully helpful video, thanks! The lengths of the lines would be useful for those not buying a rigging kit.
Traveler line: 4mm, 1.5 meters long
Downhaul attachment loop in deck: 4mm, 30cm long to start?
    Halyard: 4mm, 8 - 10 meters long?
Main sheet: 6 - 8mm according to your preference, 6 meters?

where can i get drawings to make a skiff like those from Philippines?

    • @MikStorer
      @MikStorer  ปีที่แล้ว

Strictly speaking it isn't a skiff. The plans area available from a number of agents worldwide. Here is the most convenient one

We also have an active group on facebook for asking building and other questions
      facebook.com/groups/opengoose/
And a collection of building videos we use for our group builds. We don't normally use nails in homebuilds. We use drywall/plasterboard screws for temporarily holding the parts together. Or stitch and glue.
