Thanks Jim! Great video as always. Do you know if my presets from my desktop will be available on my iPad or I can only use the ones in the iPad from Luminar? Thanks in advance.
Nice detailed overview Jim. I know you mentioned in passing in your last video that the iPad app "is not a raw editor". Yet it confused me to see you open a RAW file. I have since found out that, while the iPad app can open a RAW file, it converts it into a JPEG for editing. That's an important distinction to know, and it also explains your "not a raw editor" comment. 😊
Cool product, thanks for this Jim! However, as I said with Luminar for iPad, we really need RAW support. However, it is nice that they keep the raw when they save an additional jpg file.
Works with IOS17 - I live in Costa Rica, with a iPad Pro (first edition) and the upgrade no work - say 16.7.5 is the newest version - but in my iPhone I have month 17... Is this the end of my Luminar work ?
@mes252… I have a 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 with OS 17.4 and it works well enough - a bit slow as my iPad is an older model and no software is designed on an old machine. It would make no sense to develop on iPad 7 years old - and it’s not designed for an iPhone. Could you rephrase your comment and perhaps we can help with your issue.
Yes it requires iOS17 and your first edition iPad Pro is probably too old to support that iOS (that's my guess). You can still use Luminar Neo to edit on a desktop or laptop but it sounds like this app won't work on your iPad.
Sky replacement crashes when using the new 24mpix from iphone 15 pro. App crashes when trying to save. Not good since this mode is best for taking landscapes and hence need for sky replace. Confirmed by chat with Luminar support.
Sky replacement must be a complicated beast, because the rare crashes I get in Luminar Neo, it usually happens when I'm pushing things in the sky replacement feature.
This app really needs the de-noise AI the other one has, and some minor easy way to do spot-masked changes. But the noise one would be the one that would get me onboard to start using it. Until then.... The interface looks very promising. Oh not a raw editor. Yeah. Skipping for now.

The presets are not transferable or interoperable at this time. I don't know about future plans for that.
love it
thanks for watching!

Yes, thanks Carl and I do hope that will change in a future update.

thanks Marc and yes I am hopeful they add raw support in the future
Enjoy your posts. Is there hint that Luminar will upgrade to take advantage of the M4 iPad in the near future?
Thanks and good question, but I am not sure. But I suspect they will support the newest stuff since it's a new-ish app. Just not sure about timing.

Hi Jim how do take photos in raw on a iPhone without using the Lightroom app thanks
In the settings for the Camera app, enable the option "Apple ProRAW", after which you can toggle RAW in the Camera app when needed.
Yes thanks Ed!
If you had to choose one photo editor for the iPad, would you select pixel Mater Pro or Luminar?
I haven't used PixelMator on the iPad so I can't compare them, sorry

No Subskription!!!
Yes it is a subscription.

Yes I agree it needs some further enhancements, and I expect them to get added over time.
