Well, those are some good news. Also, I'm glad that the new hospital that they build many months ago (in Germany), contracted the company where I used to work at, to setup their entire IT network and portable systems. I and 4 of my co workers did install Red Hat Enterpise OS's on their servers and Ubuntu LTS on the Laptops/PC's so that it's just so much harder to infect those systems with all the nasty malware that was made for Windows and also I personally did replace sudo with doas since sudo is just bloated as af. It's also funny that 1 month before they opened this hospital, I managed to find a 2 room apartment for my gandma and she got a job there as a nurse and is still working there to this day. You know, the most common mistake that I see in German hospitals, is the fact that they use Windows 10/11 and Windows Server. It's just a easy target to just drop a couple of flash drives or infect the workers devices which they connect to the systems and bypass the UAC. I mean, didn't they learned from their mistakes with Locky, Petya etc.? Something like Windows doesn't belong in a infrastructure where they read the insurance cards and handle sensitive data. Same goes for German military, where my friend is working at and they still use Windows 7 on their damn laptops. All of the stuff they do on them, according to his intel, could be done with Manjaro and WINE or at least Manajro and a Windows KVM with some sort of shortcut on the Manjaro desktop which makes it easier for the newbies to launch the KVM and roll back the state of the KVM to the point, before some infection
It terrifies me that this stuff exists. I used to feel safe on my Mac, not cuz virus's don't exist on MacOS, I always felt as though MacOS exploits relied on user error like Torrenting and allowing unrecognised scripts/apps to have access to root. I was pretty nieve even as a computer technician who has to deal with infected systems all day.

In Greek mythology Perseus was the mortal hero who slew Medusa. Medusa was the snake haired maiden who turned men to stone. I think this anti malware being called Perseus was a reference to them creating an anti malware program that would slay the snake/Medusa!
@@Name.......... your technically right, but i couldnt fit the entire myth into a comment! for those that dont know ill give ya the cliff notes version! Medusa used to be a beautiful maiden. she was desired and envied by many. one day Zeus (king of the gods and horny playboy) decides he wanted to have sex with Medusa. He tricked her in some way (dont remember how) and had his way with her. (at this point ive heard two different versions of the story and not sure which is which) 1st version: Hera (queen of the gods and Zeus wife) gets insanely jealous (as the gods in these myths do) and curses her to the hideous snake woman (gorgon) that we all know. 2nd version: after having sex with Zeus, Medusa would go around claiming that she was so beautiful that even Zeus wanted to be with her and started claiming that she was more beautiful than Aphrodite (the goddess of love and beauty)! so being the jealous gods they are, Aphrodite cursed the once beautiful Medusa to being the most ugly creature out there and made it so no man would ever desire to look at her again because if they did they would turn to stone! (a curse to not only make you ugly but to make it so you are alone and have no physical contact with anyone for the rest of eternity is a bit harsh) see this is why i didnt put the whole myth in my original comment! anyway hope any of you reading this enjoy my quick recap of the myth of Medusa and thanks for reading!
"Kaspersky kept the updated list... But because of how sophisticated it was, it wasn't really picked up" Muta, wake up. Kaspersky is a Russian company that is closely tied to the government itself. Their personnel are mostly Russians (including foreign departments), their HQ is in Mocow. It's either ran directly by ФСБ or they could just show up like "I know where you and your family lives. Now scrape all of data on the Snake and tell everybody that the virus is too hard for you to track"
Their headquarters is no longer in Russia, and they now operate outside of Russia. They are an individual security company that has nothing to do with the Russian government and they've been audited many times. Yes the company was registered in Russia. Yes their headquarters was there for many years. That does not mean they are malicious actors working for the government. I could say the same for any American AV product. Oh, the NSA must have a backdoor in it right? I wish people would take off their tin foil hats sometimes.

Judging by some of the names of these viruses somebody in the Russian military must be a pretty big fan of the metal gear solid franchise
The FBI doing something good against hackers and to sponsor Guardio on the same video, the perfect appropriate combo.
The FBI may have caught Snake, but they'll never be able to find Metal Gear.
Muta needs to be on dark net diaries with this in-depth review of Turla
If it took 20 years to discover you already have the human error.
I skiped by reflex but then realised you rarely have ads on your videos, watched the entire thing while writing this comm.
Despite all the stupid and terrible things the FBI has done, this was a good W.
That just happens to be getting publicity after the release of the Durham report.
That's probably not a coincidence.
@@factandsuspicionpodcast2727 what’s that
@@gunman598 It's the report Durham's been working on against the American government to prove they're basically all traitors, and that every alphabet agency was working for Hillary Clinton against Donald Trump. On one hand, they obviously were, they even said it. On the other hand, Durham is like 0 for 3 in court, and has been a monumental waste of time. It's Q-tard copium, basically.
@@gunman598 please look it up yourself
I don’t want to get put on a watchlist
Fun fact: Turla had massive attack on Estonia once which was repelled in just 30 minutes
Imagine the Russian team being FBI plants... imagine 👀
But then those FBI plants are also russian plants
And thats how we get another Mission Impossible movie
Suspicious fry is accurate. LMAO

My brothers in Christ, I can't handle another Show Me Cables advertisement.
I don't always agree with the FBI but I think they earned themselves a pizza party this one time.
Finna pizza bomb Quantico and huntsville for this.
that text effect at 4:12 was sick
Pretty sure they can just set up a new one before this video comes out 😂

May 9th is my birthday, nothing like a giant Russian hacker team getting taken down for a good birthday present.

I wonder how many trillions went into funding this for 20 years
The us cyber defense budget $1.8 billion in 2003 to $12.7 billion 2023. (Per year)
So about $210 billion but that's not directly only going after this.
Or about 1/4 of the yearly defense budget.
Probably not trillions.
In Greek mythology Perseus was the mortal hero who slew Medusa. Medusa was the snake haired maiden who turned men to stone. I think this anti malware being called Perseus was a reference to them creating an anti malware program that would slay the snake/Medusa!
Medusa was literally a tragic story of a madien who was raped by a God later the sane God turned her hair into snake
(at this point ive heard two different versions of the story and not sure which is which)
1st version: Hera (queen of the gods and Zeus wife) gets insanely jealous (as the gods in these myths do) and curses her to the hideous snake woman (gorgon) that we all know.
(a curse to not only make you ugly but to make it so you are alone and have no physical contact with anyone for the rest of eternity is a bit harsh)
see this is why i didnt put the whole myth in my original comment! anyway hope any of you reading this enjoy my quick recap of the myth of Medusa and thanks for reading!
@@Name.......... No, that was Roman fanfiction because 'hellenes bad, roman good'.
"Kaspersky kept the updated list... But because of how sophisticated it was, it wasn't really picked up"
Muta, wake up.
The guardio ad is the most edited Muta video I've seen 💀
Knowing how the FBI operates 70% of the hacker crew was FBI.

So far I don't think I have seen an SOG video and disliked it, mostly because Muda is an entertaining guy who knows his stuff and actually cares about people's safety on the internet
I thought the FBI doing this had to have been like a few years in the making, but to solve it after 20 years? Damn, that's exactly as Muda says, champagne bottles have got to have been opened.
Did not expect to hear Rancho Cordova mentioned in this video.
