My rent went up 10%, and groceries almost doubled since 2020. I was able to stack, but I didn't pick up that much fun stuff. I also kept more cash than normal. I'm continuing to think about money, and what I should realistically do with my stack. That's the only way for me to stay ahead.
Good time to be thinking ahead bro it’s almost to the point of one slip up and the whole house comes crashing down. I did focus a bit on cash as well this year figured it’s better to have some then it is to sell off metals and loose the premiums.

Inflation has had an effect on my stacking. Inflation is eating up all my extra cash, so I haven't purchased a single oz of precious metals at all this year. Had to blow my whole yearly budget to get all my teeth ripped out, without insurance, completely out of pocket. Plus my mom suddenly passed away, and my brother is permanently disabled, so I've had to pay for that too. Might try to sneak a small order in near the end of the year as a small Christmas gift for myself.... this year sucked, and next year's not looking too hot. So best luck to all my fellow stackers weathering the storm.
Ouch ! Yeah that’s a massive expense out of pocket the dentist don’t give no breaks getting a deal out of them is like pulling teeth itself . Hope it gets better for you yeah it’s getting rough definitely starting to feel it myself
No, inflation didn’t so much as the price of silver did.
Like the saying goes,
“I’ve got far more time, than I have money.”
Also Premiums have been out of control for a while now.
I’ve only made three purchases since the whole silly silver squeeze started.
And those purchases are all worth more now than what I paid.

Yes inflation affected my stacking. My goal for 2023 was 150 ozs of silver and 1.5 ozs gold. I could only afford to stack 100 ozs of silver this year. My goal for 2024 is to stack only 50 ozs silver and 1.5 ozs gold. Concentrating on stacking gold for 2024.

Inflation has helped me spend less and save more money in metals. Working more overtime now as well as cutting back expenses is crucial if you want to keep stacking every Check. It’s important to set a schedule for your bills and know how much money you have coming in at all times. Cheers.
Price of food is painfully expensive. There are several TH-cam channels showing Wal-Mart and Costco prices from a year ago and now today. Many items are 50 to 100% higher than they were, but sure, inflation is 3-4% from what they tell us. Did slow down on stacking this year, still picked up about an ounce of Gold and several ounces of Silver when spot hit close to $21. The timing was pretty good for the Silver pick ups as premiums were $1-$2 over spot which I thought were reasonable.

I already have a substantial silver stack, so gold was my goal. The price of it limited what I bought, and the money I didn't spend on it went on stocking up house consumables. So the bottom line is that it's all good.

Yes, unfortunately i think it's effected all of us. There's other more pressing and important issues to deal with than stacking Metals. In just groceries alone the American people have taken a big hit. For $100 you could fill up your cart, now i literally only buy a few items and it's $40-$50. Especially for people living paycheck to paycheck or people on fixed incomes, it's been a struggle. Social security, pensions, ect aren't keeping up with inflation. The paycheck stays the same but the prices on everything is rising. But once you look into it, it's not prices and item's becoming more expensive, it's actually the value of the USD that's rapidly declining.
Inflation is the price of commodities in the wholesale market . It does not directly reflect the retail cost or ( cost of living ). What caused me to stop stacking is mostly the premiums , I stopped stacking in I think early 2021 because my dollar cost average was @ $17 and I wanted to keep that average for as long as I could . Now that the market has calmed down and premiums are almost back to normal I have decided to carefully start to stack again , about a month ago spot went down almost to $20 and I decided to pick up some silver , I paid $3 over spot for generic , so yes still a bit high but it might be the norm for a while . I will be keeping track of my dollar cost average now for the next 7 or 8 years and see where it goes but will try to keep it below $24 this time around . I definitely stacked less than I wanted to this year. Between soaring prices and unexpected bills, my stacking took a hit this year. I managed to add some weight to the old pile, just not as much as I would have liked to.

Inflation is all over the place geographically and depending on what you it is you are buying. I think the inflation numbers they are giving us are the baseline and it;s actually more like double digits for most of us. Great discussion my friend. Good to see you.

Morning Stacker , energy , food , now the banking issues will have more running for the exits. Even crypto will be running. As for the PM market manipulation we should capitalize as quickly before that door slams shut ! Actually the wife has had more of an effect on my stacking. She doesn't agree with dollar cost averaging, she is more of a bottom fisherman. In the meantime I have been setting aside my ( our ) normal monthly budget in case there's a major drop.

The gas money story you have is very familiar to me from years past.
I was spending so much money in gas for my truck that I traded in for a new subcompact. I was able to make the payment AND have plenty of money for gas with the same amount of money. I drove a lot. That car went on to make me lots of money in the form of a Hot Shot delivery side hustle. The rental car and long term parking would surprise me too!
I have always heard how expensive Hawaii is, crazy high it sounds like.
Keep stacking even if at lower amounts. Consistency wins.
Yeah I just sold my 2020 accord and got a v8 truck so I can tow a trailer so I went the wrong way but I needed to be able to tow a trailer it is what it is I guess everything is just expensive no matter what

The last half of 2023 I'm paying doubt debt and reinforcing cash position. Still buying a little though. SD had 90% for $180 for $10 FV. Those are the deals too hard to pass up.

Tons of things in this world don’t make sense and tons of things will never make sense. Stacking metals is great but this was my ease off year I had to ease off the gas in order to survive my only choices were to slow down or sell. I made the choice to slow down
My major hold backs for stacking this year were from unexpected expenses. But yes, with the extra tax on everyday necessities (inflation) im struggling to get back to normal. This nuke the feds have unloaded on the American people is unsustainable, widdling down the American dream day by day.
The rising spot and premiums caused me to stop last week. I don't have much room in my 20.9 cubic foot safe for any more gold or silver anyways.

Stacked only silver until I reached my goal. Now more effort on gold and platinum. Inflation has not slowed me down but silver squeeze had me concerned. We need to all get together come up with a date and do silver squeeze 2...
In the last month, yes. I had seen this coming and spent 2022 stacking food and non-perishables which let me ride out most of 2023 and stack metals hard. For me, 2024 will be the year of stacking stocks hard.
I bought about 1/4 or less of normal, my income stayed the same but expenses went sky high.
Ive been stacking for almost 2 years now. Unfortunately not having much to begin with, i had to cash a good chunk of my stack when my car shit the bed. Since then i havent been able to stack like i used to. However as much as it hurt, im not even 24 yet. I have time to rebuild and re think my strategy. Having to buy a car with my stack made me really realize why i need some fiat on hand. Hard to do on 11 an hour supporting a family right now. So in total ive been able to add maybe 15 ounces to the stack this year. Last year i added 120 ish

Greatful for. Last year was ruff. But since I started stacking I’ve saved more money than I ever had. Wish I knew what I do now when I was in my 20s n 30s ide have a lot more but it’s never too late.

It absolutely has the last few months especially unfortunately. Hoping to get back to it after New Years but definitely eomt be at the rate id like to be. Hoping to develop a couple side hustles to help out at least with some grocery money so i can afford to put more towards metals again.
We all need to understand 2% inflation is not good for anyone except the banks and gov...at 2% inflation prices double every 32 years...In a properly operating economy prices go down or stay constant...

2nd time around on this video and yep, everyone is talking about being bled dry. Gets worse every week it seems. This or that may ease up in price but over all, most of us are just hanging on by a thread it seems.

Inflation has definitely taken it's toll. Anyone that says otherwise is a bold faced liar. I've been picking up what I can when I can. Mostly generic and constitutional. Of course trying to finish or continue the few collections I've started.
