How in the world do you draft so well I’d be lucky if I find a low top 6 in the 2nd round let alone a medium elite in the 5th???
Make sure u assign your scouts to all the leagues that have a lot of prospects. I do 2 in each of the chl leagues, 2 in usa central, 1 in USA east and west, 1 or 2 in Russia, 1 in shl, 1 in liiga, 1 in extraliga, 1 in del, 1 in each of the nhl divisions(for seeing line fit) and a floater who can scout multiple leagues. Set auto scouting to both and make sure u hire good overall scouts and try to make sure they have good region accuracy for that region
Also, make sure you're drafting players that fit both your ahl and nhl coaches scheme. I recommend a defensive coach with balanced shoot energy balance as your first line strategy (the rest will follow) and pick up Veleno Chabot and Dahlin. In my 4th year I have Veleno as a 90ovr on my top lined signed at $2 mil for 8 years lol and Chabot and Dahlin will fit the Balanced/Balanced scheme as your third pair. Players that fit the line scheme to a T will develop at an exceptional rate no matter what OVR.

My question is. How’d you get LA to resign you as a GM. I’ve tried the whole “tank to rebuild” idea a few separate times, but each time the teams owner doesn’t offer me another contract? What is the secret?
Don’t do owner mode
turn off gm firing in settings.
I still remember back when you could use Dmen on forward in hut so I had ALL defensemen. The game crashed about a dozen times, one or two games I managed to start although inevitably crashing mid-early match.. the next year EA made it impossible to allow an entire defence squad.

Are there any lasting repercussions for silly behavior? Like signing/trading for the same guy just to dish him repeatedly? If you tried to take Anders Lee in Free Agency after all this, can he say he just hates your organization for throwing him around? Can other teams hold a grudge for putting them in a Philly/Nashville/Weber situation?
