Outstanding Podcast!... Platforms like this with our former athletes are flat out fantastic. We're lucky as sports fans to have such likeable guys, from such a strong Football Culture...
Man great show fellas!!! I'm all in on this team!!! Brown is totally correct they are improving and Briggs need to get on the bandwagon 😂😂!!! BEARDOWN !!!
No offense to the OG CHGO staff (who are still excellent), but Briggs and Brown are my absolute favorite for Bears analysis. Love the show, my dudes! You two could not be more perfectly matched in terms of personality, etc. The Yin/Yang of Bears talk! And Carm, of course...like a chaperone on a Mormon date...
It is still a new OC, and a rookie QB. They need a while to gel together. I am not at all surprised it took several weeks into the season to get to this level. They are still figuring out what the team can do.
Briggs. I like what he said. Football is a controlled fight. Hell yeah. Toughest sport out there . Football n hockey tough. Hockey lil less . But yes a controlled fight love that statement
Great show, Briggs & Brown were/are spot on with their analysis. Bears beat writers kill me, we beat an NFL team that was on our schedule, and now what I am hearing is that they beat a bad team. I say they beat a professional 🏈 team period. This gives them confidence, and Caleb more data points to improve his game. I have them as a low 9-7. A high 10-7 (Making a wild card).
People comparing to the 2005/6 bears probably weren’t around watching that era. This year’s bears defense is very good. Prime urlacher/briggs were otherworldly. They took sexy rexy to a Super Bowl. this year’s team is allowing 17 PPG, 2005 bears allowed 12.6.
@@adaelasm6467 let’s be real though. That year the nfc north sucked. And bears had an easy zza schedule that year. Once nfc north got Adrian Peterson and Aron Rodgers . The bears were getting their zza beat. Urlacher was overrated too. He let Tom Brady slow ass outta all people juke him out his socks. And Adrian Peterson use to abuse urlacher and Briggs lol.Peterson averaged 107 yards against the bears
I wish the bears had some well known, great offensive players to get a more personal offensive experience on the show. Not saying lance and AB arent smart but a qb would offer some good counterpoints
I think we all knew the first half of their schedule was easier than the second half, but that ought to work in their favor. Stack wins, work out the kinks in the offense, develop and establish an identity, and get your young QB in a rhythm. Making strides in those categories makes it less likely that they'll fall flat on their face when the schedule gets tougher, so these last couple weeks are very relevant (despite who they played).
im not ready to give the oc a break yet. I want to give all the credit to the players for taking advantage of a bad defense and refusing to fail to be as advertised (swift and dj) specifically. o line getting better. defense is like Lovies 06 D. getting turn overs
7:30 lmao had no idea AB was one of the missed tackles on the Beast Quake run. Looked it up and yup #96 of the Saints. Made this little segment hilarious! 😂 One of the latter misses since the run was to the opposite side. It was a tough angle for AB but kinda funny bc he def wasn’t sprinting the whole play..can totally see the panic manifest in him in real time hahaha at least you weren’t reppin navy blue and orange AB! much love 🐻⬇️
The one thing I would argue though is you didn't know they were Hall of Famers until after their careers halfway point like peanut briggs etc so we'll have to wait and see it play out with this defense and players. Whether this defense could b better. Also this season has to play out
Do you guys still talk to Mike Brown? What’s up with number 30? I couldn’t witness to 85 Bears but I could witness you guys for years.. Bring Mike Brown on the show, the real number 30 I just wanna know how Bro doing…
It definitely definitely should have happened quicker with Shane Waldron as you are the chief strategist for the offense and your team helps you get Intel and do different things on players and the light and the your opponents but especially your team play that make those adjustments as necessary throughout the game cuz you're playing chess against the other coaching staff
The Panthers game showed what Caleb and the Bears offense can look like with a solid offensive line. The Panthers defensive front is weak, and couldn't apply much pressure. It won't consistently look like that against average or better defensive fronts the rest of the season. Poles has done a very good job improving the roster (with a huge assist from the Panthers trade), and an excellent job with the Bears' salary cap. Nate Davis will be cut after this season to save 9.5 million in cap space. Velus Jones (1.44 million) and Dominique Robinson (1.1 million) should be cuts also. Kevin Byard (7 million), Gerald Everett (5.5 million), and DeMarcus Walker (5.25 million) are potential cap casualties after this season. The Bears should have between 84 and 101.5 million in cap space in 2025. Poles will hopefully be able to resign Darrell Taylor and Jack Sanborn if they don't get too expensive, along with several other less important depth pieces. I assume they'll let Tevin Jenkins and Keenan Allen walk. If the Steelers pick turns into a 4th rounder, Poles could add a slot WR, two OG's, OC, and a free safety in the first 4 rounds of the draft.
Poles needs to draft a slot receiver to replace Keenan Allen, and a free safety to learn from and eventually take over for Kevin Byard. That's in addition to drafting an entirely new interior offensive line. Maybe Poles can manage to draft all three Alabama interior offensive linemen, Booker, Roberts, and Brailsford. It would help if the Steelers pick becomes a 4th rounder.
watching the comments and cant disagree with strength of opponent, but if bears would have had even half a clue against houston they would have won. Defense only allowed 19 points at houston after offense put them on the field for most of the game. i think if offense continues to improve bears will surprise many who picked them to lose 9 or 10 games
22:33 sorry but that defense has 1 (but should be 2) hall of famers but Dexter is having a more dominant stretch then Tommie Harris ever did through 5 games by a lot. Sweat was probably better then Brown or at least competitive. JJ is absolutely playing at a level competitive with Tillman at his best (the HoF snub of those teams). Then Byard, Brisker, Gordon, Stephenson are + players. Edwards is putting up numbers that compete with Briggs Edmunds is a unique coverage linebacker for the era. Billings has been like the 3rd best interior pass rusher through 5 games. This defense is COOKING. Panthers offense was finding a groove and ran into a brickwall. I'll take 2006 today, but CAN'T be better, I doubt that. Y'all gotta be ready for what comes. Dexter 4 sacks in 5 games and he turned 23 yesterday. Come on Brown tell me you ain't seeing something that 2006 team didn't have. Tommie career best 8, then 5. Dexter about to match his 2nd best season in 6 games at this rate. Sheeeeiit he might just have 4 sacks next week go straight for the crown. That's the type of player he's looking.
Anyone that doesn't understand what's missing from single-mother households need only listen to Alex talk about his daughter and "D1 Dave" around the 1:01:00 mark... Hahahaha.
hope c williams doesnt care what jayden daniels is doing or cj stroud. I am a bitter bears fan who watched all the bad decisions at quarterbacks by gm's and coaches. I am most concerned about how justin fields turns out under mike tomlin. I know that an o line can make a qb look better or worse. wish bears would have invested more in lineman
Well you got your Answer tonight Dude. Fields at home playing a Dallas team with no D line couldn't score more than 17 points. So tired of fans who wouldn't give a Caleb a chance. Right now he is better than Fields who has over 3 years more experience. He can't throw w anticipation nor read a Defense. Justin must take responsibility for his lack of growth. Grow up cheer for Bears or go watch that terrible team in Pittsburgh. Bears got the one period! Playoffs here we come.
lance briggs' weekly homophobia is truly sickening. i will be skipping these segments moving and i hope chgo will more seriously consider who they are bringing on their show. there are many former player/analysts out there. this reflects really poorly on the entire franchise
Going forward stop w the Fields talk bury him once and for all. He never took responsibility asked to be traded ran his nouth he played Dallas at home they had no D and beat the Steelers. Ridiculous over throwing open guys cant read a Defense. Caleb is QB 1 period. Playoffs here we come.
Big surprises you beat the worst team in the league with an injured D nothing tobrag about faileb is know for winning easygames but shit the bed against good teams
You were kind of wrong on Caleb, Lance, he's nothing like Justin Fields. He's an actual quarterback. I said the same thing cuz that's what I expect out of quarterbacks nowadays Not that I like it

Love the no huddle, uptempo approach
I love how caleb was making most of his throws from the pocket he looks more comfortable and better in the pocket then justin ever did
He wants to stay in the pocket and that’s how he will get through his progressions and be coming a league quarterback..

why arent they talking about JJ at 26:00??? if dude continues at this level he's a definite hall of famer, he's just young
