      I saw bits of the show and I completely lost it,so much so that my older brother had to hold my hands and calmed me down. I can't even fathom the horrors that these beautiful people experienced. Honestly this tragedy could have been prevented if only people didn't fall for hitlers nasty lies.

    Jonah is SO professional! He handles such difficult questions about a complex and sensitive project with so much grace and tact. I am beyond impressed with his acting and his character every time I see another press interview.

    This was such a brilliant retelling of what happened. I think many of us are too scared to discuss concentration camps but as humans, I think we need to see shows Like this because it gives is an insight from a new perspective. My mother is Dutch. My grandparents and aunties were living in Netherlands when it was occupied by Germans. My grandmothers sister was a collaborator and my grandparents never spoke to her again after ww2.
    I know people did what they did to survive and the line of the show that resonated with me was that there are no good decisions…. They are bad or worse….. When Lali needed medicine for Gita, it suddenly made me realise the immense weight of decisions…..bad or worse,
    I had family die in concentration camps during ww2, then I had an aunt who was a collaborator and I have struggled to understand her….But now it seems to make more sense to me that people did things our of desperation to survive or save a loved one.
    Sending my love to everyone who made this story become something that we can watch to understand history. And to all those families that lost loved ones during the holocaust ❤

      I watched it and highly recommend it for the educational aspect alone. We all know if the holocaust but there were things in this sign that is just didn’t realise happened. I feel it opened my eyes more and lose the fear of finding out things in history that are just not spoken about as openly as they should. This was like watching history happen in front of me… not like watching a movie

    I read the book, but felt that it was not similar to other testimonies that I have read. I have questions about its authenticity.

    • @dianewalker4633
      @dianewalker4633 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Just because there are no similarities does not mean that it did not happen. Do you genuinely question the authenticity, or are you just another antisemite who is deliberately casting doubt on what happened, and is using the power of suggestion by making others also doubt? Shame on you if that is the case.

    • @bandkh90

      The book has been proven to be historically inaccurate and has been discredited by the Auschwitz Foundation so your questions are well founded. It is also very schmaltzy and poorly written. However, the mini series is surprisingly good…particularly the acting of Jonah Hauer-King. His sensitive portrayal of Lali is very moving. I guess they had to trim all the purple prose from the book, resulting in a film that is much more succinct and truthful. I hope you enjoy the series if you get to view it.

      @@bandkh90I’m reading the book now, and have felt at times that Lale is being treated too well for a concentration camp. So is a lot of it fiction? He made it up?
