      Will you also turn the Chessable course into a book, as you did with the Kalashnikov course? I much prefer books over online courses, especially yours as I do like your method of learning a new opening: by studying a lot of well-annotated example games.

      @@tommarcoen6758 I am working on the book right now. Release will probably be late spring.

    I bought the Chessable course, started learning the Rossolimo lines and played it online in blitz recently. First game(white chose the g4 approach), against someone rated 200 points higher than me, I was winning right out of the opening; up a pawn with a better position. I managed to lose that game, because I got low on time. However, it wasn't the opening's fault. Just me being slow. After I play it a bunch more, I'm sure I'm going to be annoying to play against. It's a different approach to how I used to play the Rossolimo, but I like it. Helps when you have a Grandmaster teaching you the way. ;)

      Great to hear that the opening worked well!

    I like that line which ticks a lot of boxes. Slightly off the beaten track, which always appeals to my individualism, but also fundamentally sound and producing interesting double-edged positions.

    I don't even play chess and I almost wanna buy it just to get some more of Daniel King's great work, lol. Thanks for all your work for the chess community.

    Thank you very much, Daniel, now we know, what to play against the rossolimo, a very sound variation
    Its a good sicilian program for Black against 2.c3 (alapin), 2.d4 ( kalashnikow) and now 3.bb5, Gratulation Daniel....

    Instructive video as always. I'm a bit surprised not to be seeing anything about the WR Masters...thought maybe you'd cover that similarly to Tata Steel.

    As a 2000 uscf player the rossolimo has given me a tough time this is definitely a pretty good line!

    I wish one day you make a course of your older books on the Spanish and KID, with Ponzetto and others. A course on ideas and plans, instead of repertoires. With a ChessBase FT or Chessable!

    • @PowerPlayChess
      @PowerPlayChess  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they were nice books, but I need a break from designing these courses - they are very time consuming!

    An excellent presentation on the Rosso! A perennial problem has always been dc6 or bc6! Here, I agree with Danny King as to 'dc6' because of the open lines for Bishop & Queen.

    It is useful how the doubled pawns on c6 and c5 control so many important squares on the queenside!

    nice system Nf6, looks very practical and not so well known 👍, this reminds me of the line I get from 3..g6 4.0-0 Bg7 5.Re1 Nf6 6.e5 Nd5 7.Nc3 Nc7 8.Bxc6 dxc6 9.Ne4 Ne6, N also heads to d4, same structure, of course in your line it's way less theory, might have to buy your course then😃

    • @PowerPlayChess
      @PowerPlayChess  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there are great similarities between these lines, sometimes they even transpose.

    This game is very similar to Carlsen vs. Niemann in the FTX Crypto Cup. c4 again was a fatal positional mistake because it created a backwards d3 pawn that was easily blockaded and attacked.

    • @PowerPlayChess
      @PowerPlayChess  ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed. That game is a good example of the potential of Black's position.

  • @undertaker2829
    @undertaker2829 ปีที่แล้ว

    I thought as a general principle in systems like rossolimo, if black fiangettoes the dark squared bishop and white bishop captures the black knight on c6, then black should preferably recapture with the b pawn instead of the d pawn. However, the line that you presented invalidated that "theory"!

    • @PowerPlayChess

      Sure. Black would still play 4...g6 and it doesn't change much.

    Danny, like you say many Black players get destroyed because they don't get their King-side pieces out and your variation solves that problem 🙂
    In the game after 11.Ne4 b6 what if if White prevents ...Nd4 with 12.c3?
    if the Bishop comes out 12...Ba6 then 13.g4 Nh6 14.d4 is a bit loose but at least White does drive the Knight back and get the c3-d4 center pawns.

  • @mcronrn

    Chess is wild. 8.4M Rossolimos played on TH-cam. After 3..Nf6, what if they play the most common moves, and u do engine moves? 4.BxN dxc6 5.d3 Qc7 6. OO Nh5. How many times has Nh5 been played, you ask? ZERO - it’s never been played. From 8.4M on move 3 to zero on move 6!! 🤯🤣🙏

    • @fsr1960
      @fsr1960 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure what engine you're using. Stockfish 15 slightly prefers 5...g6 to 5...Qc7, though it's close. It gives 6...Nh5 as only its sixth favorite move, the first being 6...e5 - which is presumably the idea being 5...Qc7.
