I know I know, all babies are special. But baby elephants are the most special and precious in all the world, my opinion.
How precious. I love the way the other elephants got her on her feet. Wonderful. I love elephants.
What loving animals. Animal rites now.

African baby ellies look cute when they come out of the belly.............. but the Asian baby ellies?...........they come out looking super wrinkled, red eyes and extremely hairy like an old wrinkly man..................... but give them a month, they fatten up to a very, very cute baby ellie, even cuter than the African ones............. benjamin button syndrome i guess.
Also, by the time they get close to dying, the African ones look better, only thing that tells you its an old African ellie is the low energy and "can't be bothered" eyes.
The Aging Asian ones become thin, the skin looses elasticity and you can see their bones, they develop freckle-like vitligo type skin situation
Either way Elephants are majestic creatures!!!!!

I know they think it's safer but I wish they would let the "aunties" be near mom and baby. They do so much for new moms and babies in the wild. As this video shows, it's the auntie not the mom who gets the baby ellie up. Isolating new moms doesn't help anyone and neither does substituting zoo workers for elephant aunties who always help with new babies in the wild.
At least in a prison they are protected against predators and poachers!
