I could be wrong, but this was my breakdown of the video: The opening shot of Kendrick sailing across a literal sea of Black hands was symbolic of the spirits of the countless victims of the Transatlantic Slave Trade ferrying one of their descendants to the land of his ancestors. The following scene seemed like a kind of rites of passage. Kendrick approaches the base of what may be thought of as "Mother Africa" with all of her children gathered around her womb as they encircle/accept Kendrick. That acceptance triggers SZA's character, which could be representative of Africa's asili rooted so deeply within the human experience itself and is so ancient, that it penetrates quantum space. From there, Kendrick embarks on a journey spanning all of Africa's cultures, peoples, devastations and traditions until he reaches a point where he finds himself passing through the realm of the primordial. Physical embodiments of the Divine Feminine allow him to walk amongst them while ancient African glyphs manifest around him, granting him the final knowledge he needs. Upon his entry into a higher and timeless dimension, the asili (i.e. SZA's character) heralds his approach before four allegorical pillars/archetypes. Kendrick being granted an audience before them is itself the statement of his worthiness.
I totally agree with this breakdown I feel the woman is ASET who has the power to makes kings and all the children are her proteges Kendrick is about to embark on his journey to reclaim his throne. I also feel that the panthers are meant to be his ancestors since the panthers in the movie are the Black Panthers from the past to give knowledge to T'Challa so they are kind of like guiding spirits of the dead. I think that him walking with the panthers is a symbolic picture of walking with the ancestors on his journey to reclaim his throne.
Hey man i really like this description but theres one thing, the hands in the beginning are "white" Maybe thats symbolic of the same people that took us is the same that fuel our, leaving the country or wherever we're scattered.
I could be wrong, but every time I've watched it I've noticed that the hands are actually different shades of Black. After all, it's not as though every Black person is dark-skinned. We can be the lightest of the lights or the darkest of the darks.

No no no you got it all wrong .... the music video just potrayed the whole history of africans from slavery Kendrick L on a boat ... to dancers from all different tribes dressed in different cultural attires.. at the end u c a map of africa potrayed in stars ... we as africans we are the stars , africa a continent of minerals exploited by westerns ... k dot walking with black panthers which is a movie theme .... 😂😂yall need to be schooled
