    • @bislymariafranklin2683
      @bislymariafranklin2683 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      “Ferme la bouche” means “shut the mouth” and “ferme ta bouche” means “shut your mouth” so “ferme ta bouche” is better.

    • @raymundofantastico
      @raymundofantastico 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@bislymariafranklin2683 It wouldn't be necessary to use the possessive adjective "ta" because the word "ferme" is already direct command given to the person. The definite article "la" is used instead. French speakers usually say "Ferme-la! Boucle-la!".

      Ferme la bouche has a different meaning. We use it to people who eat with their mouth wide open or we use it when someone is yawning and they don’t put their hand in front of their mouth. Ferme la bouche doesn’t mean shut up

    A comment was made by someone and posted under one of your recent videos, complaining about the visuals and presentation tendencies (costumes, jovial acting, exaggerated theatrics etc.). I think he/she has point. Such presentation is welcoming only if your primary target audience were young teens and children in elementary (turning school into game, as Comenius would say), both of which however, are not the majority of people watching this channel (I bet). For adults, University students (my case), interns, trainees operating in French speaking regions or aspiring to be working there at some point, quantity of useful grammar, phrases, vocabulary with basic presentation is more in terms of quality and delivery of the main message - teaching us better French with correct pronunciation in a comprehensive way. Plus it would be less overwhelming for you to produce, edit and release your content subsequently. Think about it. Thank you.

    • @KimberlyGreen
      @KimberlyGreen 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I disagree. I thoroughly enjoy the lively presentations. It makes them memorable and fun for my learning. And I am four decades past my teens.

    • @jakubnovansky4005
      @jakubnovansky4005 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@KimberlyGreen Using this as a serious learning platform that it intends to be, without doubt, is losing on seriousness by doing so. I am more of a regular viewer, writing notes down, listening twice or three times the entire video, etc., which perhaps someone with occasional mood for French or inbetween work doesn't do. Those won't be source of income either. But as we say in my language - 100 people, 100 taste buds. I'm not into infantile style. At least you added on the adults numbers :). Bottom line is kids won't be holders of credit cards trying to join the perks and channel. Adolescents and adults will.

      @@KimberlyGreen Yes, I had my eyes on your replies under various videos, I know you are very active and haven't seen anyone else like you, who'd be able to contribute with useful trivia. Needless to say, assumption being right or wrong, you are an exception. That's my opinion. Just like yours is that my way of thinking has flaws. One hand doesn't feed the person for week or more. Maybe a little survey would do the trick :)

    • @learnfrenchwithalexa
      @learnfrenchwithalexa  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi guys, thanks very much for your input and everything is taken onboard. However, just a small note that these are only TH-cam shorts it's not a full in-depth French learning video! I've never taken myself too seriously and learning can be a fun and enjoyable activity, which is why I sometimes post these fun clips as it's a different way to learn. TH-cam is a great and FREE resource for you to help you improve your French but ultimately if someone wants more serious resources to dedicate to their learning we offer those as well (via the dedicated French beginner to advanced course on my website, through the membership perks, through the full-length TH-cam videos!)
      Also we do indeed have watchers of all ages, so we make some content for everyone accordingly 😁If these short-style presentations aren't your kind of thing, just try sticking to the more serious ones or the longer form content.
