Shohei was on base 100% this game. 2 walks, 2 hits and hit by a pitch.
Ohtani with a HR, a triple, a walk, and a stolen base. Judge would never have that, that's why I would pick Ohtani because he has power and speed, and when healthy is an Ace pitcher.

When I see Ohtani circling around bases after his home run, I feel that he has been a Dodger all of his life. It feels that his red Angels uniform days were far into the past. He just looks so good in this new blue uniform.

Ohtani as an Angel was the only great thing since we got Trout. Sad truth is he is never going to be the same. Last three seasons he's been hurt and missing half a season at a time.

Just 110 mph velocity and 430 ft.
Last year he crushed one at 115 mph velocity and 493 ft at Arizona.
Rooting for the guy to hit at least 50 home runs because last year after Mike Trout got injured.
They pretty much just walked him every time.

Another historical game for Ohtani! He's the 3rd player since 1901 to have a HR, 3rd base hit, BB, a deadball in baseball history. Yet I doubt the other 2 players have any successful steal 🏃💨 like Ohtani did today and not only one BB but 2BB. Ohtani was on base in all 5AB! So I am quiet sure this was another historical record Ohtani made for what he contributed for team in 5 AB today. 😤
You mean hit by pitch? I find it hard to believe he's only the third person since 1901 to have a hr, triple, walk and be hit by a pitch in a game. That's weird if it's true.

Judge is still leading HR leader of the MLB league but overall Ohtani HR pace is now faster. If he can keep up at this pace, he will take the HR lead of the MLB league too.
I'm ok if he doesn't, it's still amazing that a rehabing pitcher is the only DH NL MVP ever. AND the only NL star to do so with a triple crown since integration in 1947. AND using his non-dominant arm to do so! That's already an impossible feat. If he beats the reigning HR record holder, idk man... that would be even more insane.
And Judge is known for that. This guy is supposed to be a pitcher and is still in recovery.

So you're saying that some inferior player who isn't injured and can play both offense and defense but whose numbers aren't near as good on offense should get that trophy? @@randallmarsh1187 The trouble with MVP is there are no objectively measurable standards set for it, much like the enshrinement to the hall. Too vague. Some say an MVP can't come from a losing team (e.g. Ohtani from the hapless Angeles), others say it can't be a DH or that it is an offensive stat (but pitchers have won MVP AND Cy Young the same year). It all boils down to the personal preferences of the baseball writers with a vote.
With a 2-for-2 day today, Shohei bumped his batting average back up to .316 which currently leads the NL again, at the moment.
