Return to the Planet of the Apes is a short-lived animated series, by DePatie-Freleng Enterprises in association with 20th Century Fox Television, based upon Planet of the Apes by Pierre Boulle. Boulle's novel had previously been adapted in a series of movies, beginning with the 1968 Planet of the Apes starring Charlton Heston. Unlike the film, its sequels, and the 1974 live-action television series, which involved a primitive ape civilization, Return to the Planet of the Apes depicted a technologically advanced society, complete with automobiles, film, and television; as such it more closely resembled both Boulle's original novel and early concepts for the first Apes movie which were changed due to budgetary limitations in the late 1960s.
I remember watching the cartoon series of planet of the apes in the early 80’s
impeccable artwork!!
The general sounds like Fred Flinstone!!
That is because the voice of the narrator and the General (as well as Cornielius) were voiced by Henry Corden who replaced Alan Reed (voice of Fred Flintstone) when he died in 1977. He also provided Fred's singing voice, prior to Reed's death) since Reed wasn't blessed with a singing voice.
So they have Zaius, Zira, Urko...but THIS guy's named Dick Hutley?? LOL
ape broadcasting co. (wink)
The horn was modeled after the brazen bull horn
As a kid I lived and breathed anything Planet of the Apes. Of all the movies, tv show, those read along records, the cartoon was my least favorite.
the real isreslites
Utterly limited animation, awful scripting, Ted Knight. Everything about this says SUCK, so why is it so awesome? I got about two minutes in before I had to check Amazon for the DVD.
I'm not going to take your opinion but I think it was little bit ok. I seen this back from TH-cam 2009 when I was at Middle School.
