Dutch people can (still) be global super powers if and when they want to... unless some nutcase ruins it... One of the best in trades, agriculture etc. but we also don't want targets on our backs so we tend to watch and interject from time to time, just a little nudge in what we hope is the right direction -which of course doesn't always have the outcome everybody hoped for... we're still humans after all

I used to program a lot, but I don't understand the current developments anymore. My youngest daughter studies at a University of Applied Sciences (Product Design and Engineering) and has to program, but also develop new things. Things that don't exist yet or things that need improvement. And she shows that graphically in a way that makes my jaw drop. She has become a real techno nerd in the meantime.

Yep, where have times gone that we used to program in assembler, or even directly in machine code? Clock cycles are not that important anymore.

@@KeesBoons My wife was an analyst/programmer at Honeywell (American company) for 24 years and since she stopped there, her knowledge is no longer up to date. We are getting old :-) Who can still calculate in octal or hexadecimal? :-)

@@bertkassing8541 Different times. I already let go of programming as soon object oriented programming became a thing. Feels like a lifetime ago.
