@@isaacmettle How does it make no sense? That's a portrait of Miriam before she died. She was originally supposed to stay dead. In NES she just randomly comes back to life, but it now seems to be canon because she's alive in DD4, Return & River City Girls.
One of my favourite arcade titles, oh man it brings really good memories of my childhood. Great content and awesome channel. Let’s keep the retro alive my friend, even though we play modern games. Arcade is unforgettable. Have a good time
@@filevans You don't know absolutely anything...🤦♂️ And yes, the DD games are EASILY some of the very best. They were one of the first beat em ups with more fighting moves instead of the boring one button attack system and had one of the best theme songs of all time. Double Dragon 1 & 2 (AND 3 for the NES) were fantastic. The NES versions were all great too because of great added moves, such as the jumping round house and explosive knee thrust that blasts enemies across the screen. In part 3 for the NES version, you can play as Ranzou, a NINJA... He was able to run at insane speeds, jump to the top of the screen, slash, deliver a jumping roundhouse and do a bunch of other awesome things. The GBA also had a great version of Double Dragon as well. Also, learn to read. I said _one_ of the best, not THE best. By the way, it's pretty pathetic that you were the only one who gave yourself a like. 🤣🤦♂️
At least the NES one had like a story and explanation. Did this one even have the super kick? I know it was hard to pull off, but I wonder. In the NES one if you jump one way and then jump back quickly while pressing an attack you will do a rather powerful super kick.
That was a common thing with NES arcade ports actually. They couldn't do the same kind of graphics or sound as they arcade so they tried to make up for it in content. A lot of times it worked out and some games were better than their arcade equivalents like Bionic Commando. Sometimes it didn't though, like TMNT II which still wasn't as good as the arcade and Strider which was by and large a bad game.
Double Dragon 2 The Revenge is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME and STUNNINGLY AMAZING
I like the Nintendo version hyper knee
1:27 we all have that friend.. who's just doing flips and is just showing off instead of helping..
I just love the ending theme in this game. That sense of so close, yet so far. It's absolutely beautiful.
It makes no sense 2 me. Nintendo did it better
@@isaacmettle Technos Jpn made the arcade and NES/Famicom version.

The Demolition wannabe's in the game have one of the creepiest laughs I've heard in a video game.
Is it Axe, Smash or Crush?
@@nicktronson2977 Axe and Smash, the originals. I never considered Crush part of Demolition.
@@thecowboy2 I do! I actually prefer the Crush and Smash version of the team to the original. Like they appeared in the WWF WrestleFest arcade game.
When I was a kid I wanted to do that in real life

We all did! 😆

I thought the first Double Dragon was about Revenge. Now its revenge for revenge? When will this sad sick cycle end?
Leave his girl alone. I don’t Mess with people girlfriends cause I’m afraid I might get beat up.
This one is called "The Revenge" because the villains kill Marian instead of kidnapping her this time. And your mission is to avenge her.
DD1 is a rescue mission. DD2 is a revenge.
the first game had you fight your brother. second game had you fight yourself
As much as I like Double Dragon, I really feel like Kunio should get new remakes and stuff for international audiences these days.
Kunio’s been getting equal treatment these past couple of years, tons of his games are on the switch - which is a good thing, they kick ass
