What I love about Mike is the fact that he is a real man....in a world when real men are hard to find. He is the perfect package of masculinity, sincerity, Intelligence, adventure, humor, kindness, vulnerability, integrity and character. Put that together with his looks, charm, and voice.....and it's the perfect package.
Mike is the easiest voice to listen to. His philosophical thoughts are thought invoking. His story telling is fluid. The man is masculine. The package is mesmerising.
I'm very surprised that after 1 year, there is only 800 👍, and only 40 comments. This was a great interview with someone that most people enjoy watching.
I think it’s TH-cam’s algorithm. Not sure how this didn’t get shown to more people. But thanks for the comment and please share it with anyone you think may appreciate it!
What I have learned wstching/listening to Mike is that he's a regular guy who happens to be quite intelligent and articulate. But his most endearing quality is that he is geniune. He has had a life like a lot of us that included finding your way in this world by working hard, being honest, and having fun.
Long time Mike Rowe listener. Hard working man and proud of it representing the hardworking law abiding people of the U. S. A., any proud of that. Familiar trait to see and nice change off what’s called normal nowadays.
I met Mike after a rare Dutch Harbor blizzard. We were going for supplies when we ran into him and his crew digging out the coffee joint near the spit. Selfishly, we jumped in to help so we could meet Mike...all our coffee was free for for the rest of the season!
But our schools today think all kids need to be taught self esteem by protecting them and building safe spaces. This next generation will be so weak and need tons of therapy.
When Mike was talking about how viewers imagine that he is "handy" and a tradesman from watching Dirty Jobs, I never got that impression. I have always thought of Mike as someone who was deeply interested in people and their profesions and their commitment and enthusiasm to those jobs. Mike celebrates and promotes the work ethic that he sees as faltering in the world today as compared to the world he (and I) grew up in back in the 60's and 70's.
I’m loving this interview as I sent this to my 2 sons. I thought he shared some great insight regarding breakups and having children. I love Mikes honesty and the manly attitude we don’t see too often these days. We need more real men in this world not less 🤔😉😊
Great Interview! I never knew Mike had a stutter and stammer as a youth. I struggled with a stutter too & great to hear how that limited & then developed him😮
I read the Travis NcGee books as a teen, just connected that I've lived my life in much the same way he did. Take your retirement while you can enjoy it, folks! Live an adventure.
How can Kara SMILE so big throughout the entire interview? Seriously, after the first 25 minutes or so, I began to think it's put on, not sincere, or somehow meant to telegraph something. Not the worst thing to have a happy face, but it is something therapists use as a tool.
Maybe it’s me, but this lady comes across as very flirty, with mike. The playing with her hair, necklace, repeatedly mentioning “she a therapist” her insecure what’s he writing now. I think most therapist are insecure and try way too hard to impress others with ‘high intelect’.
Sweet! Thank you so much. Can’t wait to read, since it seems like I followed a similar lifestyle during the years Mike mentioned, but missed out on the books! 😏
I’m sure I will. I’m a copper fire painter- I work alone in my workshop all day, so audio books are my mainstay. This should keep me happy for a year! Goldmine! 😊 Thanks again. I will tune in for your next interview during work , as well.
Mike could recite the phone book and I would swoon. I was very disappointed to see him on FOX thats not a place wheer I expected to see the man I love. haha

And he’s a conservative.
@@gunsandpoker7432 That just makes him all the better.😊

Self esteem and self confidence comes with overcoming adversity and obstacles. When the obstacles are removed self absorption takes its place.

My imagine of Mike Rowe is a hard working down to earth man who’s parents did a fantastic job raising him.
I was introduced to Travis McGee by a gentleman by the name Mead Bachelor, a man I am forever trying to be like.
Travis McGee !! ! Great character!
very interesting, an interesting life.

Anybody else catch the Princess Bride quote? ❤😂🎉 (39minutes)
😊
I think if Mike had not taken the small chunk philosophy, he may have been, like so many others, subject to burn out.

Yep I said the same thing. I think she is nervous. 😉
Where’s the link to the Travis McGee books?
Here’s a link to the first book. It’s book 1 of 21. amzn.to/3SZe2nB
