- Big thanks to the owner of ltex for making this possible lots of rare, old, new locomotives back there so join me as I go threw cabs and take you on a tour of the locomotives
Yes guys I did Meet the Owner of the hole leading company of LTEX you may have saw some of his engines on freight trains but they was just possible the best of 2019! He did say he would have me come back when I’m off of school and have me actually run a real life active locomotive!
1K views wow thanks y’all!
The NYC unit is not a NYC original unit. It is an FL9 built for the New Haven railroad in 1959 but it was painted by Metro-North as a heritage unit. Still a great find, very sad to see it be scrapped, especially given it's very good condition
You did a good job!!! Keep up the good work!!!!
I work at LTEX
Awesome Video! Also i have a Question. So, if we DO want to railfan @ The LTEX Yards would we have to ask permission first?
Haase's House O' Science NO your not allowed in at all not open to the public Ik the owner that’s why i get in but don’t even try could get arrested for trespassing
Oh wow, 1420, I remember her running on CVSR
I’ve never caught an NS High Hood, and I wish a did! Nicely done!
15:21 is a shot (briefly) of one of the three EMD Factory Demo GP60's that CSX bought... 6897, 6898 and 6899.
Yeah the other two are still in service and I thought it would be 6897 apparently it was 6899 I know it would be one of those two because I know definitely 6898 Is still in service but 6897 might’ve been sold off to someone else but it might still be on CSX
Wow, original NYC, I am floored! Do they still run it? And if so where?
Yes B&O museum might get it for now it’s with me ;)
I enjoyed the video.
8:27 CSX BARCODE!
That unit painted in New York Central paint was not an original NYC unit.It was a New Haven FL9.Then the unit went to PC and CONRAIL before going to Amtrak. And the finally being painted in a special NYC Paint sceam.
It was operated by Metro North too with your brother 2013 that was painted in New York Central paint scheme too, 2013 is preserved at the Danbury Railroad Museum.
You should have read the “blue cards” inside the cab of each. That would tell you where it last came from. Most of those CSX locomotives came here from Hamlet NC.
very cool video!
that is awesome!!
Great video dude I actually got to do that but sad news was my phone died on me at 11% and I also got to visit the Graveyard in rice yard and got to go in a B something conrail unit
WHY DO YOU GET SO FREAKIN LUCKY?!?!?!??!?!?!!? Great video, I can't believe how lucky you are.
🤗
that was very nice thanks for sharing
Very cool. Great video
There's alot of roads in between the tracks there is it legal to drive on those roads and take pictures of the engines?
No a days, yes. Thank stupidity for that. Ruining it for other people
@@railfanowen9372 I've seen people take pictures and drive down there with nothing happinng
@@OldIronVideo yeah…before there was cameras. Now they have Cameras that take photos of license plates and faces, so does Lordstown PD. They have their own cams too set up
@@railfanowen9372 oh there was one from 8 months ago and that guy hasn't said anything about it and is still replying to comments about it, when I'm in the area in August I already have contacted them through email about buying engine number boards when I buy them I will ask premition to drive through
@@OldIronVideo yeah if you ask, there shouldn’t be a problem
Great video. - Drew
Were you allowed to be inside those?
NS Pittsburgh Line Railfan yes Ik the owner of LTEX is you listen in almost clip I repeated myself
Its so sad to see those old blue bonnets :( I wish they would be repainted so the blue bonnet looks brand new and they would be put back in service
I've serviced and worked on some of those Units!
norfolk southern has a locomotive bone yard in Harrisburg PA and Roanoke VA
Me when I see a blue bonnet: oo piece of candy
Phantom NASCAR 42 me when I see a blue bonnet_______lol I see them everyday
Railfan Owen 🤣
You lucky son of a gun! You got to climb in an engine! Well, I got that beat! I drove a train one time in Waynesboro, VA!
Not just a engine lots of engines and btw speaking of driving a locomotive hehehe wait till this guy is having me do this summer hehehehehe
Well, I drove the train down the mainline! LOL!
And yes, I got permission to. This was like 8 years ago though! The engineer was nice enough to come down and ask me if I wanted to drive the train!
Great video u deserve a sub
Thanks!
@@railfanowen9372 no problem u are one of my favorite train you tubers now
Garrin Hatfield sweet! Appreciate it!
@@railfanowen9372 no problem man
1:41 That I&M engine spent a lot of time at my local rail yard!
Yes guys I have met the owner of LTEX!
7:56 NYC locomotive!
CSX&NSrailfan 23 awesome. Where is this? I kinda want to visit this place.
Title says it all
Washington DC Railfan productions but you have to know the owner you can’t just walk on in Ik the owner of LTEX the hole leasing company
CSX&NSrailfan 23 oh ok thanks
Np
Do you happen to remember if there was a CSX SD50 numbered 8595 at that yard when you visited? It's said to be the last locomotive the B&O ever got.
Yea I saw it in there
Do you happen to remember if you could see a few more of those DME/ICE units out in the deadlines?
Yea, they go to the Ohio Central. There’s about 6 right now.
Railfan Owen ok thanks I remember seeing those back pre-2016 and even if it’s a drone shot I wish I could get one last good picture of one of them. Any idea if they are still scrapping everything that shows up there or is it more of a storage now
Aidan Vogt no everything you hear isn’t true about ltex they repair and send them back out onto the rails most engines are stored waiting there turn
Sad to see some of those engines getting scrapped
I may go to Gainesville today!
Awesome video, how’d you get in the cabs?
Ik the owner of LTEX
Next time you see the owner tell him to donate the nyc f unit to a museum
No he is keeping it there he takes good care of it and it’s also up front now but it’s staying right there and very clean too
i dont want to see it as a paper weight
Garrett O it’s fine
Who is the owner of LTEX? Because I would definitely love to walk it
Hard to get ahold of now that people have stolen from the place, cameras everywhere
@@railfanowen9372 damn that sucks to hear. I saw a video not to long ago of someone getting permission like 3 Months ago so it might be possible
Lucky
1,001, ya did it
Do the horns work? Lol
Tri State Railfan XD
Is this open to the public? Or is it private?
Private.
@@railfanowen9372 okay thanks. How’d you get in?
Ik the owner very well
@@railfanowen9372 ah
You saw the CSX version of the barcode unit. 1111 is at 8:26
Yeah lol I saw that to
Darn. You probably wouldn't vouch for some guy from the internet with the owner of LTEX or I'd ask you to get me permission to have a look. I'm more of a ship guy than a railfan, but there aren't too many lake freighters in Trumbull County...
Can you tour the yard
NO your not allowed in not open to the public
Kmaster2007 if you watched the video I said Ik the owner of LTEX that’s how
Railfan Owen sry I was just looking for the engine, didn’t use audio!
Kmaster2007 lol your good
