I've been wearing my hair down so much more the past few years, I think I used to use wigs to compensate for the lack of variety in my wardrobe. Low pigtail braids are also my go-to. My biggest comfort tip is to stop trying to force otks to cover the knee, I'm 5'8" so even if they fit I'll be pulling them up all day, I'd rather just wear them comfortably as utks.
I just wanted to say I really enjoy your videos!! I'm not native speaker english and sometimes it's kinda hard to understand some words or way of talking but your accent and voice is just perfect for me, so relaxing :) greetings from Argentina
MODO makes the BEST shoes for lolita. I have had shoes from bodyline, angelic imprint, sosic shop, antaina, etc. But my modo heels are by far the most comfortable. I tromped all over a convention in those and didn't have pain or blisters or anything. MODO is goat 🩷🩷
it's funny you described the little dipper blouses as loose 😅 i had to take a moment to think of how i've seen them fit you, because to me the L size is such a slim fit on my arms i can't wear short sleeve blouses under them, it looks all bunched up and weird. for plus size cardigans i've been switching over to cropped punyus cardigans, but i keep hoping someday i'll see a plus size cardigan on the market! i would buy them in so many colors.
My lolita style went from the whole 9 yards and devolved very quickly to casual lolita/otome because I was just so damn uncomfortable, especially during times my autoimmune disease flares up. I live for cardigans (especially DIY'd ones covered in my own hand embriodery) instead of blouses and wearing cute hats and berets to shade my hairless head. I ditched petticoats altogether. They just kept getting caught in my wheelchair all the time, and the poof was cancelled out by sitting down anyway 😅
Sometimes i only button the top 2 or 3 buttons of my blouse under the jsk when the sizing runs smaller and i like it too much to sell it off 😅 I'd personally avoid altering my pieces (especially brand ones) just because it lowers the resell value, but that's specific to my local comm lol, the clothes still belong to you and you're free to do whatever you want
this is a great tip actually ! I feel like it's the same reason a lot of less expensive lolita blouses are cropped - you don't really need the full length lol
Wearing your hair down is so much more comfortable… I usually wear my hair down, too. I’ll have to try the modo platforms! I’ve shied away from them because I like mono color shoes rather than the wood-colored soles, but better comfort would be worth it Love the tip about the cotton in the socks! I’ll have to pay attention next time I look at socks to check their materials… Because of my poor circulation, I’ve found that ankle socks are the best option for me so far, but I am starting to try out OTKs for the pretty patterns. Cardigans > blouses is such a good tip! I’m super curious about the detachable collars. Thanks for another great video!
also, with my experience in classic/casual lolita, large measurements for VM and JM are definitely lies 💀 The moment I put it on it became so apparent to me that they are made for a completely flat/straight body type
Ha, yes.... measurements are one thing.. but then the body type the dresses are made for are sometimes completely different from our own 😭 the pain of having a not perfectly tubular body.. haha
I can not live my most comfy lolita life without my cutsews. ❤️

I have the opposite problem! I'm really short so my otks want to go up my thighs, but I'm also plus size, so you can see the issue XD

I discovered the blouse trick too - it can really help!
I've done that with my blouse before too 😂

Totally agree about hair with lolita
the petticoat made for the smallest size thing is so real ;w;
