Great job! Loved the continuation from single to double and triple time steps. I also loved that you practice 4 times each so we can get going from left to right.
That is the most brilliant tutorial! I used to do a lot of tap dancing when I was young, competed and danced in theatres. I am now 43 and my two girls are following my path and very much into their ballet and tap. I thought I would refresh myself of the time steps so I can help them to learn. I looked at a view tutorials and felt confused. Weirdly I had completely remembered the triple time step, but not the single or the double. I just came across your video and thanks to muscle memory and your great teaching, I’ve now got all three down pact. Thanks so much; my 9 and 7 year old girls will now see that Mummy used to dance too, thanks to you! x
Excellent video! I like how you give lots of reps with little break between them--it's really helpful (to me, at least) to do a step multiple times in a row. I also like how you start with just the first part of the step, then add on more. Thank you!
You're the only person I have found that teaches the time steps the same way as my tap teacher. Thank you for this. Do you have any tutorials for pullbacks and double pullbacks?
I like to teach the shuffle version time step as the first time step and give them the phrases “I will al-ways re-mem-ber” for single, “I will all the ways re-mem-ber” for double, and “I will t-re-ble ways re-mem-ber”. I found the words can translate to where the weight is as well and help start get it rolling for beginners. I will = shuffle, all = hop, ways = step, re-mem-ber = tap step step.
awesome tutorial!! you make it so easy to learn (or re-learn) the time steps. this is exactly how my grammy taught me in our kitchen when i was little :) thank you for those beautiful memories!!
