When I served as jury, they confiscate our phones while we're in the court.
Does not sound like a power trip. It sounds like the judge is insisting on proper behavior.
@@davidlium9338 Sounds like a power trip combined with anger issues to me. Since when is "not proper behavior" jail-worthy? Under that theory, at least two-thirds of the population should be in jail.
I mean it can only happen so many times before it gets annoying.
Story #6 - I don't think that's the dumbest - They promised amnesty to him, and he ended up letting the company know, "Oh, we have a MUCH bigger target to worry about"

I've heard several stories about someone not able to make their court date because they got arrested and are in county two counties over.
I had to tell off my roommate for trying to wear a sports jersey to court.
The fact that shirts can affect your sentence shows how shitty our justice system is. Judges making calls that a child would make.

Story 8: I get the feeling that "truth" for them didn't work out since they were in a mental hospital involuntarily. As much as treatment of mentally ill patients have changed for the better over the years, for many they are still not believed when they actually telling the truth by a majority of the staff. I guess this is their way of protecting themselves from being forced to tell a "truth" that isn't the truth at all.
you technically aren't supposed to tell someone the "truth" if they are going crazy and if you do you do it softly and respectfully

It’s called Intellectually Disabled and is classified as having an IQ of 70 or lower.
Was in court once friend of mine was in there too don't remember the exact charges but the judge says i sentence you to 30 days my friend goes 30 days. 30 days i can do on my head the judge replies well take this 60 along with it see if we can get u back on ur feet he shut up instantly turn 30 days into 90 days the court room gotta laugh then she asked if anyone wanted to go with him it was so quiet in there u could hear a mouse fart
