- The grain in this log is a miracle. The grain in this Red Oak just pops. So many possibilities. It has the deepest red color of any Red Oak we have ever cut. We had a fresh blade on the OS23 by Frontier Sawmills. It just ripped through this log even though it was Oak. Having the TYM T264 to set the log on the sawmill is a back saver and a must with a sawmill. Big enough, but not to big. @Frontier Sawmills #tymtractors

Thank you my friend. I love this mill. I can't justify a full blown hydraulic mill, and this one keeps me in shape. If the log is to big to work by hand, I can always use the tractor. I will tell you this. It keeps my mind moving.

I’ve got some red oak logs from a timber cut that were deemed bad by the loggers. I would like to do something with them eventually. I think I could get some good boards out of them. But my farm had some old trees and a lot of these logs are 3 to 4 feet in diameter. I doubt I would have the tractor to move them and almost certain I could not buy a mill to cut it out on my land without spending $50,000.
Frontier has the OS31 also. Many people will take a chainsaw and split the biggest logs in half or quarters. They then out the log on the mill. Always a way.
What blade you running?
I am running the 10 degree Sabertooth
