Amin Gulgee is everything that Karachi itself is: bizarre and yet so beautiful, chaotic and yet so mesmerizing. He and his father and mother have done so much for art in the country, so many people still don’t realize that - to hear him say how his ‘world turned black’ after his parents murder was sad to watch, but it’s also amazing to see how he bounced back from it all. That’s some superhuman strength and very inspiring. Hope his artworks last forever.
So fantastically eccentric and strange (in the best possible way!). Loved this interview. Mr Gulgee is a national treasure, and Frieha did a great job interviewing him.
Really interesting interview. Please bring more artists since we don’t get to see any such interviews normally. We keep seeing the same actors with the same stories over and over again so this was insightful, informative and inspiring. Thank you Frieha.
Amin Gulgee when i come to Karachi, I’m finding you and taking u out for chai. I will listen and u will talk. Such a wonderful story teller and such an eclectic human. We are proud to have you.
Great interview. Plus very unfortunate that such creative people were lost by this horrendous crime. Best of luck with the museum . We are looking forward to see this museum
This is the most wholesome conversation I've heard in a really long time. Sir Amin is beyond a living legend and yet SO humble. Loads and loads of love for both of you! 🥹♥️
Omg he is amazing , I kept thinking who is he reminding of me of, then rooh afza came in my mind , he even talks like her “jaani “ . I loved this podcast ❤
