I saw Kyrie Irving do something similar while trying to miss a free throw. He threw it hard off the backboard and it banked in. It shouldn't be hard to just alter your release a little to the right or left. A missed free throw has to hit the rim or it's a turnover.

On a ball made on a bounce, if the “shooter” is in 3-pt land, does it count as 3 points, or does the bounce itself have to happen in 3-pt land?
