Who could’ve imagined that this kid will one day become the Youngest WC challenger and possibly World Chess Champion. Crazy that you got to play him at such a young age

Awesome. Esserman is the reincarnation of me.

And now he’s won the Candidates! Would be very nice if you could say you crushed a world champion with the Morra.

Marc can then say he has outplayed TWO with the Morra. Don't forget Vishy Anand who declined the Morra against him 😉

Reminiscent of Fischer-Pupols 1955, where a young future WC was blown away by the equally unexpected Latvian Gambit. Another pleasurable game to analyze for the many attacking sacrifices and picturesque mates.

I'm pretty sure Marc is thrilled about Gukesh's career development! He almost got Hikaru as well when Hikaru was young.

And Marc did it when Nakamura was top five in the world. You should check out the game, if not familiar, 112th US Open, 2011.

I just found this video. Most of my opponents decline with Nf6. Enjoyed the video

    I love your book~ it's the presentation
    .
I have went through many books but they turn out boring, your book is as fun as this opening.
Please write more books if possible

Great game, love the Morra lesson. Bb3... incredibly hard to see. Is it a computer assisted find? Or, something the computers miss and you found? I tried memorizing your book, but couldn't manage it! :) Thanks for the analysis!

It seems clear that Marc should be the one getting invites to Tata Steel, Norway Chess, etc.

Great game! It is easy when they play the best moves. In My recent OTB game in the Scheveningen system my opponent did not find the best moves but managed to castle short. I just could not unlock him and blundered at the end. Even though the engine showed +1 and I followed your recommendations. In Mora you must sacrifice! Great game by you, I hope this game will help me find the winning combinations next time.

Gukesh is almost 2700 now. Does this count as another 2700 scalp in the morra?

8:20 "the rook is shut in behind the plant" what do I do if there are no house plants close to the match? does your book cover that eventuality? I think not

So black can get a better game if he does not accept the gambit and instead develops rapidly?

    • @JannesDragon
      @JannesDragon 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Well, you can decline in different way. The Alapin is probably best for Black... but when your opponent offers you a free pawn, why not just take it for the fun? c:
