Serious distance irons with NO BIG PROBLEM!

- The Wilson Dynapwr irons are one of the longest irons ever hit on this channel! Now with distance comes sacrifices.....or at least it normally does, but I was shocked at a number of performance attributes that I didn't expect from an all out seriously long distance iron.

Another very good review, always have liked and used Wilson.
Nice review Andy, I hope Wilson grabs some more attention from the masses as they are makng great clubs. I committed to a set of the dynapwr forged irons for the new season coming up. Demoed a 7iron all last year and it convinced me to get a set to go with the carbon driver I already owned.
Good, honest review Andy.
Great review Andy Wilson make great clubs and deserve to be more successful. The new woods are sensational probably the best looking this year.
Thanks Andy I think they are aimed at slower swing speeds where they still give someone a 130 yard carry with PW . My T400 are similar, but I had to have a 45 GW then a 52 and 58 to sort out gapping.
Nice video. I am a Wilson fan. Descent angle would be nice to know. Jack Nicklaus always said there are two ways to stop a ball, spin and descent angle. He preferred descent angle to spin. So, can you add any info re the descent angles of the clubs you hit? Thanks.
Good review Andy. Just what I need I'm 82 and need more distance. Been looking at the Wilson's over the last year and now with the new ones they look great. Will be jumping in plus I get a good discount through my Golf club membership.
Make sure you get the right shaft bud
@@TheAverageGolfer there is a HL model as well.. which maybe more suited to a senior ... they have weaker lofts... these look class
@ oh right I wasn’t made aware of them, thanks
@ it's replaced the launch pad hybrid irons ..
Thank you Andy. 😊😊😊
Great video Andy enjoyed
I would like to see the descent angles as well as the launch angle. Not too worried about low spin as long as the descent angle and peak height are high enough.
What would worry me is the gapping, looking at 5 degrees difference in lofts between 8i & 9i and again between 9i & PW, for me that is going to result in a c.18 yard carry difference which is a bit too much
I bought a used set at a Golf Retail shop for 350 American but I only gave them a bit of a chance as I was trying to hit balls in Iowa in the middle of winter. Needless to say the sound of the frozen ball coming off the face was awful. I knew it wasn't a fair test, but I decided I needed a 2023 Wilson Dynapower (new) driver, and a new "Bag Boy" bag worse . So I took the irons back. I did like them but I bought a set of Wison Di2's off Ebay and they are much older but still real long.
As seems to be the trend now just make all lofts stronger (which fools so many) to my way of thinking you might as well keep the irons you've got and tell youself that your 5 iron is really a 7 and your 7 a 9 etc...But still a good review Andy...
What shafts do these irons have Andy
You ignore landing angle. It needs to be 40 degrees or better to be sure of stopping the ball on the green. The player with slower swing speed, say 70 mph for 70 mph for 7 iron, who is the player that usually needs game improvement clubs, may get just over 40 degrees with the 7 iron in these clubs, but not the 6 iron or any longer iron.
That’s why there’s the max with weaker lofts
Andy what ball are you hitting?
Snell 3.0
I would say with irons people should be interested in how accurate you are with them. Better to hit a green than miss a green, I bet these irons in addition to be strong lofted are longer shaft lengths. So if a person hits a 6 iron 20 yards farther with less accuracy and the ball wont hold the green, where are we?
190 yard 6 iron? I don’t hit my driver that far 😩
Same here. The simple reason for this is that he plays and practice golf in three weeks that we do in a year. I'm 100% sure that if you play and practice golf 5 or more hour 6 day a week for 48 weeks you would hit your 6 iron 180-200yards and your driver 240 yards no matter club brand you use. 😊😊😊 For me golf it not that fun so it's just not worth to much time, there is just to much other things in life that is fun that I also want to do.
You are not alone in this 😬
My Wilson v6 7 iron is 34 degrees i just call it a 8 iron
The average golfer should stop looking at the distance. Fantastic you hit a 5 iron 210 yds into harder green surfaces but if you can't stop it what is it's use. Clubs have become so strong you require either or some of the 48,50,52,54,56,58,60, 64 degree wedges for recovery shots, manufacturers have strengthened irons to create a whole new income bracket in wedges. I use MP HMB irons, my 4 irons is nearly 4 degrees weaker than the latest Ping's, except for EGO what is the point for Joe average.
Great reviews thank you.
Better than PXG Black Ops?
