I got one 24Ah 48V battery. It work fine. It is around 4 months old. I will keep you updated. My oreva give 60km but i charge after 50km so i not end up on the road pushing it.

Is it possible to design electric bike by adding hub motor to the front tire without removing rear drive system and engine? It would be useful to extend the bike range, could be used as electric only for short commutes.

Best configuration for ebikes is 72 volt 50 Ah lithium ion batteries. This will give 175km run . And 48 volt 20 Ah will run only for 50-60 km . So it's not good for ebikes but good for ecycles.

Range is depends upon ,what type motor you use, driving conditions,weight of passengers, and wattage of motor.if you use 250 w definitely it will give longer range but low torque,500 w motor give you less range but higher torque..
