I have always wanted to go to Crater Lake all my life to see it in person. When we got there, the first viewpoint we stopped at my bride ( of 37 years ) , I know . I always say my bride. The reason being Tara. Every time I look at her, she is still my bride. The word wife does not explain the LOVE I have for her !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE wish you could have been there. The first thing she said, I thought the lake would be bigger. My jaw dropped and was like, do know the caldera is 5 miles wide and 6 miles across. WOW, I loved the site, water was just as BLUE as you would think it is. Sinnott Memorial Overlook is a must see. Few steps to get down. Right next to visitors center at top. Small parking lot at top but plenty more around the corner leading up to the lodge.
Lake EL-sin-oar (Elsinore). I was living in a high rise waterfront apartment building in downtown Seattle when I turned 50 (2004), working for a small 5-person architectural firm. Everyone from my work plus about 5 of my non-work buddies and a couple of my work-related friends all pooled together to buy a block of tickets right behind the Mariner's dugout at Safeco Field to watch the Mariners play the NY Yankees (boo-hiss). It was a little windy and chilly (early May in Seattle), but otherwise a clear and sunny day, an afternoon game, that went into extra innings. Seattle lost the game, boo-hoo, but I learned that a few days later, as a bunch of us left the game at the top of the 10th inning and went drinking in Seattle's Stadium District. The structural engineer who was one of our group and who had brought his son (and who was also a huge baseball fan) stayed to the end of the game and his son actually was able to snag a fly ball pop-up in the 11th inning, kinda wish I'd stuck around to see that, but on the other hand, Andy (the engineer) and his son had been sitting directly behind me, and as I did not have or bring a glove to the game, there's a good chance I'd have been beaned by the ball had I stayed (especially in the 11th inning, I don't think any of us who left in the 10th inning were still totally sober, hahaha, but we were walking, so no error, no foul). And while I had purchased a semi-generic Mariners jacket a year or so earlier, as a birthday gift to myself, a week or so before my birthday I had also bought myself an official MLB Mariners team jacket, a Mariners team jersey, as well as a pair of kinda funky Mariners earrings with the team logo. One of the buddies I'd invited had a fairly large Mariners flag that she waved to help keep the group together as we walked from my apartment down to the stadium (about 12 blocks)...we were quite the spectacle, hahaha. It was a great birthday, appropriate for turning 1/2 a century, a day I will never forget. I hope your 50th was as enjoyable and memorable and Happy Birthday!

Nice Catalina get-away, (from the rushed big city life). Another nice thing about Avalon; similar to mainland CA., such as adventure-activity ticket purchases).

Happy Birthday Tara. 🎉 I lived in Lake Elsinore for nearly ten years. The Ortega Highway is always a gamble on traffic or an accident. It’s a great ride, though on a clear day. Never stayed in the park but launched from the docks plenty of times. Nice nostalgic views of passing through the town. Thanks!
Sorry, been gone for 2 weeks to visit our daughter in Washington state from our home town in GA. While we were there we saw Pacific Northwest, Timberline Lodge, Mt. Hood, Vista House, Columbia River Gorge, Multnomah Falls, Crater Lake, Lighthouses, Haystack Rock, Mt. Ranier, Mt. St Helens, Coeur d'Alene Idaho, Nez Perth NP. 2700 miles in 2 weeks. Also Haystack Rock, which we were luck enough to see at low tide, got to walk up to the rock. Totally unplanned, just lucky. Also, when we were walk to Haystack Rock we saw in the neighborhood some elk. Coming out of Haystack Rock we saw 18 eld camping out in the neighborhood which the locals were looking at as something that never happens and were taking photos as well. Several bulls and a lot of females. What a sight.The walk to the rock was a luck shot. I have seen pictures of it, never thought I we would be lucky enough to experiance it. Much less the elk. You 2 are part of the reason we want to travel more since we retired. Your videos and some other RV's are the cause. We thank you all !!!!!! You give us so many ideas on what to do and see. NOTHING LEFT TO SAY BUT THANK YOU !!!!!!!! THANK YOU CHAD AND TARA !!!!!! THANK YOU TO THE RV COMMUNITY !!!!!!!

Chad; hey! Two things came to mind when you were trying to reach your luggage. 1). Buy a Grab Stick ( some are longer than others), & 2). Build a flat mini tray with a rope puller, to pull those boxes/suitcases up towards you!!

Chad, that hwy 62 from Yucca Valley down the hill to the 10 freeway is STEEP and if I recall, the lanes aren't normal width, a little narrow. We travel to Havasu often and take the hwy 177 toward Desert Center to the 10 freeway to avoid that plus its a smoother drive. Both routes get you there...There's a huge solar farm in Desert Center too. Nice nest there in Catalina you folks had. Lots of things to do there...hope you got to have a Buffalo Burger while there.

Omg. Next time you come to The LA area please message us. Lake Elsinore to Dana Point. Yikes! Then to Long Beach. Yikes! LA traffic is terrible almost anytime of the day.
We took the 5th wheel from Cape May N.J. to Lewes De. Had to board two hours before high tide (7 am) became we have low clearance and the height is 13’4” they have sensors to check the height. It’s a hour and a half ride 17 miles. Cheaper than driving 177 miles and paying tolls.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that too. I have a dog the size of daisy, did the BC ferry here in canada last year, n dogs not allowed on upper decks they have to stay in vehicles even on the under lower decks, so i kept my dog in a carrying bag to go on the upper decks basically concealing her, but what a pain in the arse they make it! No way can i leave her in a vehicle for couple hours by herself n they don't allow u to stay in your vehicle either 🙄. 🍻

I have you beat. We were on our way from Oregon to North Carolina to buy a house. I lost my wallet in Portland airport and didn't realize it until Charlotte airport. No ID or cash or cards. Luckily the bank needed our ID for the financing so my wife took pics and sent them and still had the pics on her phone. Printed everything up and it was fine. But i never heard the end of it!

I realize this question is out of sequence, but are you and your family OK in and around your cabin after Helene? Thinking the best for everyone in that area.
OK, this is scary. When me and my bride and her sister went on our trip to see our daughter in Washington state. We were on an adventure at Mt. Rainer. Went to see Lookout Point to see the 7 mountains from there. Rough road, Got worse the last 5 miles. Do not do. The first miles are gravel, not smooth at all, rough. According to Garmin, the last turn is onto 1550. Going from gravel and paved road onto a ( dare I say, goat trail ) this is nothing short of a death trap. I went down it in a AWD vehicle. Did not look bad, thought it would level out. Still did not look to bad, then it got real bad. Had AWD so not to worried until my bride screamed out go left. I knew I was at the edge. The edge was 1000 feet straight down. We did get to a bottom with a 90% turn. Made the turn and headed back up. New I could make it back up with the 4 wheel drive option but there was one spot I was not sure I would not get grounded on. Made it thru. P.S. When I made the turn, asked my sister in law to spot me on how far I could back up. I forgot to put the car into drive since I was used to a gear shift instead of a button shift. Luckly I had my foot on the brake, nailed it. Stopped the car and we made it out. This could have been really bad because of GARMIN. This was so bad on GARMINS part, I think someone could get killed following these directions. I got out because I had AWD. I knew to ride the lip and avoid grounding out. Even though I was ridding the lip and having my bride scream at me. I have never had GARMIN steer me so wrong. This was not even a goat trail at the bottom. This was a I don't know. We looked at the trail ahead of us, SOOOOO MUCH WORSH !!!!! GARMIN SHOULD PUT UP A SIGN !!!!! TRAVEL DOWN THIS ROAD: YOU DIE !!!!!
Don't feel to bad..i once drove 400mil with a travel trailer to find when we got their I'd left the keys to the rv at home..took two days to get back and continue our holiday...first thing i do since then is put the RV keys around my neck!!!.🤣🤣
Chad, how do you maneuver such a large camper around? We just got back from a trip with a rental SUV. Some towns I had to make small turns because of GARMIN miss direct. How do you do it with a big camper in tow?

hey guys that place looks amazing! Chad i recently bought the Dewalt tire inflator after I saw it would work on 5th wheel high pressure.. I either got a lemon or something because as soon as I hit "play" it shuts down immediately with a code on the screen, something like OL ..was wondering if you have experienced anything like this.. thx man , safe travels
I have the same inflator. I think that's a battery code. Are you sure your battery is charged & fully seated. If not, hopefully you have time to return.
@meandthelady9141 Take the unit apart. In it you will see a fan. Clean any dust or grime on or around it, as well as the bearing. OL is overload meaning it's getting to much physical resistance when starting and needs those parts cleaned.
Um, why do you have so many foam pads in the attic? LOL. That fog is scary. We get it here too and it is no fun. So sorry you had such troubles. Everyone forgets their wallet or purse or phone sometimes. The California coast is spectacular and I miss it.

We took the 5th wheel from Cape May N.J. to Lewes De. Had to board two hours before high tide (7 am) became we have low clearance and the height is 13’4” they have sensors to check the height. It’s a hour and a half ride 17 miles. Cheaper than driving 177 miles and paying tolls.

Chad, don't feel bad. My husband realized he mistook his Sam's Card for his driver's license when we went on our honeymoon. In April 2002. I was pleasantly surprised to see that too. I have a dog the size of daisy, did the BC ferry here in canada last year, n dogs not allowed on upper decks they have to stay in vehicles even on the under lower decks, so i kept my dog in a carrying bag to go on the upper decks basically concealing her, but what a pain in the arse they make it! No way can i leave her in a vehicle for couple hours by herself n they don't allow u to stay in your vehicle either 🙄. 🍻

I have you beat. We were on our way from Oregon to North Carolina to buy a house. I lost my wallet in Portland airport and didn't realize it until Charlotte airport. No ID or cash or cards. Luckily the bank needed our ID for the financing so my wife took pics and sent them and still had the pics on her phone. Printed everything up and it was fine.
But i never heard the end of it!

OK, this is scary. When me and my bride and her sister went on our trip to see our daughter in Washington state. We were on an adventure at Mt. Rainer. Went to see Lookout Point to see the 7 mountains from there. Rough road, Got worse the last 5 miles. Do not do. The first miles are gravel, not smooth at all, rough. According to Garmin, the last turn is onto 1550. Going from gravel and paved road onto a ( dare I say, goat trail ) this is nothing short of a death trap. I went down it in a AWD vehicle. Did not look bad, thought it would level out. Still did not look to bad, then it got real bad. Had AWD so not to worried until my bride screamed out go left. I knew I was at the edge. The edge was 1000 feet straight down. We did get to a bottom with a 90% turn. Made the turn and headed back up. New I could make it back up with the 4 wheel drive option but there was one spot I was not sure I would not get grounded on. Made it thru.
P.S. When I made the turn, asked my sister in law to spot me on how far I could back up. I forgot to put the car into drive since I was used to a gear shift instead of a button shift. Luckly I had my foot on the brake, nailed it. Stopped the car and we made it out. This could have been really bad because of GARMIN.
This was so bad on GARMINS part, I think someone could get killed following these directions. I got out because I had AWD. I knew to ride the lip and avoid grounding out. Even though I was ridding the lip and having my bride scream at me.
I have never had GARMIN steer me so wrong.
This was not even a goat trail at the bottom. This was a I don't know. We looked at the trail ahead of us, SOOOOO MUCH WORSH !!!!!

Don't feel to bad..i once drove 400mil with a travel trailer to find when we got their I'd left the keys to the rv at home..took two days to get back and continue our holiday...first thing i do since then is put the RV keys around my neck!!!.🤣🤣

Chad; Just as a note, we have a copy of our drivers license and passport hidden inside of the suit cases. This worked out well when I lost my wallet at Disney World.

hey guys that place looks amazing! Chad i recently bought the Dewalt tire inflator after I saw it would work on 5th wheel high pressure.. I either got a lemon or something because as soon as I hit "play" it shuts down immediately with a code on the screen, something like OL ..was wondering if you have experienced anything like this.. thx man , safe travels
I have the same inflator. I think that's a battery code. Are you sure your battery is charged & fully seated. If not, hopefully you have time to return.

@meandthelady9141 Take the unit apart. In it you will see a fan. Clean any dust or grime on or around it, as well as the bearing. OL is overload meaning it's getting to much physical resistance when starting and needs those parts cleaned.

it works fine up to like 90psi . I run 120 in the fith wheel and it shuts down immediately
