I need to replace the vent line I damaged during a vapor canister replacement, I did see I won't have to do all that much to replace the line. This could make a good shop project if it can be approved by my instructor, otherwise a more intense solo job.
Damn, I was hoping I would be able to get to it from under the rear seat. My wife's '08 Aura is showing zero fuel with a fault code about not seeing the fuel sender signal. Guess it's off to the shop with it.
This video was informative but i think at 4:19 when the larger plug of wiring harness got plugged in it looks like the fuel pump broke as the connector moves upward. Maybe im seeing things but if thats the case ill be buying a different brand.
@@AirtexFuelPumpsyep mine is the exact same pump only different brand ECCPP basically the same Chinese stuff as a matter of fact I bought yours for my 2008 Saturn aura 3.5 V6 and one for my wife’s G6 and they’re the exact same product 😂
I been smelling gasoline bad even when my car is shut off, underneath gas take is little wet of gas do I need to replace fuel pump or just the I ring? not dripping just wet on one side.
Miguel Suarez I've been driving my car around for over a year with the same problem. It's a known issue on this car. I finally decided to drop the tank on this car and found the source. I put some JB weld on it but didn't hold. looks like I'll be going on round 2 and try it again.
My daughter just bought a 2008 chevy malabu and would not start put putting on and off sometimes thought it was the fuel pump or spark plugs but none of that changed the fuel pump same acting up would not start found out it was the wiring in the trunk rubbing agaist the body duck taped it running like a champ thats what they mean bad wiring yea worked after spending 250 big ones on pump yea try it just tinkerd around with it surprised 👍
I have an 09 pontiac g6, ive been looking at different fuel pump assemblies and noticed they do not have the fuel tank pressure sensor...... will i reuse the old one or should it come once i purchase a new unit? thanks in advance
would a bad fuel pump make your car run like a vacuum line is not connected? bucking in idle, smooth when driving, noisy like valves when idling. Rides good until it comes to a slow up-to a stop
It could. I would recommend testing the pressure, check for voltage drop before passing judgement on the pump. Your ailments could be a variety of things. Vacuum line maybe not off but leaking, issues with the ignition system; spark plugs, coils etc. Bad sensors feeding bad info to the ECU could be the culprit.
There will be a release tab on the connector. Once it is been released the plug will come apart. It may take a little work as it does live in a nasty environment; dirt, water and lots of road debris.
@@AirtexFuelPumps i got it thanks.one more think you know that one black hose that you left on the sending unit i broke that off trying to change the ring. so do i need to buy a new sending unit now?
Did this and the car turns over but no fire. Changed pressure sensor on tank, fuel pump. And purge valve. It sometimes after sitting for 8 hours starts for a split second and shuts right off.. Idk what’s going on. Repelled tank and fuel pump to triple check everything and still the same. HELP
What happens if I forgot to connect the vent line and Ive been running my car? Ive had an issue with my fuel gauge not working. Where did I mess up other than the obvious missconnection of the vent line.
The vent line being open should create a code for incorrect tank pressure. The fuel gauge not working is an issue in itself. The test for the gauge starts with an ohms test of the sensor at full and empty. Full = 40.0 +/-3, Empty = 249 +/- 5.
IS THIS PROBLEM ALSO COMMON with the buick lacrosse 2010 CXS 3.6/LLT direct injection i notice gas only last 3 - 4 days a week I'm getting 14 mpg but everything else is good new spark plugs, intake gasket new PVC. but nothing has changed sometimes the startups are rough but it always runs but bad on gas i test drove another car with my specs and its getting 24.4 mpg
Thank you for posting video, my 2008 g6 pontiac fuel pump line had a crack on it.

Why would I need to re wire a new plug for ? If the old one is working fine ?

Airtex/ASC Performance Pumps
Im going to look at a new pump today and see if that is the case ill buy it thanks
Joe Patterson what an eye!! I finally saw after rew 5 times. Same goes for my shop too. Come on guys, your video editor has to wake up.
The wire harness fixture is a sealed fitting in the pump housing. It can be pulled so its motion shown at 4:19 is normal.

The Fuel Pump Needs Replaced, While Replacing, Make Sure You Pay Attention and Check Over Fuel Lines, Hoses, and Vent For Further Damage
It looks so easy on a lift 😆

How do i disconnect the wire plug

@@NewYorkMudBoggers the black hose is the fuel supply line. It is not serviceable. It is part of the fuel pump assembly.
My assembly didn't come with a new float was it supposed to? Had to re use my old one and now gas gauge isn't working.
How much should I pay for this to be done?
After seeing this video I assume there is no access to fuel pump in trunk or under back seat??
***** thanks for the quick response. Sounds like I'll have to take my car to shop. Thinking either fuel pump or idle air control valve are bad

And how to actually disconnect the emissions hose? Can’t figure the clamp out.
I'm wondering the same thing
