Thanks for coming by Pursuit Brewzle! Glad you like the double oaked. We are down to 10 cases of it at the distillery but working on the next batch. I was a big fan of OGD from the 80's when it was distilled by National distillers. I was on a journey to recreate it. I experimented with different whiskey from our inventory and wood combinations from independent stave. After 18 months of trial and error I think we nailed it. Its a 36 month seasoned french oak custom toast and char stave for us. Your barrel picks are delicious and can't wait for your fans to try them.
I can speak only for myself that I would love to see you do this as frequently as you can each month! Having your impromptu thoughts and tasting notes updated on each bottle is great. The only thing I could suggest is getting a bigger bar top to accommodate everything you've purchased!
Hi TJ! Thank you for mentioning and tasting Alliance Distilling Company's whiskeys! We look forward to having you and Jill visit with us in South Carolina soon! We were crazy excited to see Donny's bottles on your bar!
Very recently subscribed to your channel, I started working at a statewide store in Montana, I've used your videos to learn and sell bourbons and whiskeys. Thank you truly you are a great teacher.
I love seeing the bourbon hunts and the end of the month pick up videos. It’s fun to see what you can find since we don’t see a lot of that stuff here in Indiana.
Hiiii TJ, its me The Indian guy, I tasted the Aberlour rye here in India, It was a pretty decent taste but honestly its not for me, maybe i need to go through the initial tasting ceremony to be able to pick the notes, Day before Yesterday i got to have the Single Barrel 100 proof bourbon from jd, it was heavenly 😍
Olde Raleigh is the best! They're blending from 4 different states and using stock as old as 19 years. Their batch 13 is incredible and has a surprising bell pepper finish to it.
I was at that pursuit pick, and he’s not joking about the Pursuit Double Oak. Don’t sleep on that bottle if you are near their distillery. At $60 (if I remember), it will sell out once the word gets out.
That still Austin red corn used 36% Jimmy Red corn, like that southern revival one you passed on. The Jimmy Red corn has a much higher oil content than bloody butcher, which makes for a better whiskey.
I was so sad I couldn’t make the pursuit event in Louisville last week. Wife thought I needed to save my vacation for when our baby is born in the next few weeks for some reason 😅
A really cool idea for a video series would be to coordinate with other bourbon hunters and you each do your top5 small distillery. With a final top ten chosen like you do at a barrel pick
repeat this format! loved it! next time your near southern Indiana check out Hard Truth sweet mash bourbons and Rye. The four grain is like desert in a bottle. TonyB
Unfortunately a lot of what you’ve recommended is not in Oregon. We have Ben Holladay stuff (none of the special stuff but at least rickhouse). I’d love to try Old Soul, Old Dominick, 13th Colonies and the others.
watch a lot of your vids and would love to pick up a few bottles out of your list but.......... it sucks cause i live in Ontario Canada and a major part of your list, Pursuit, Frey ect. our Provence run liquor LCBO stores don't carry them delicious bottles of bourbon.
100% agree that the Bourbon Lore Ben Holladay blend is not better than most of the single barrels... or any that I've tried. Can't believe they were charging $100 for that - I get that Holladay isn't available everywhere but it's getting there. It's also pretty easy to get a pick from them. As a Missouri local I can leave my house and come home with 4 picks of the bourbon and the soft red wheat in under 2 hours. Each bottle will be $65-70. I can also buy the Rickhouse proof at basically any store with a liquor license so there is that... Bourbon Lore did a great job of sending their bottle to influencers to hype up their product and scalp the hell out of their fans though. Buying 18 barrels probably gave them a bit of a discount over buying a single barrel... and they still charged $100
The JEP Decanter isn't that great IMO. It got plenty of hype but it just doesn't do it for me. That 107-110 proof mark gets plenty of attention because people want to think they'll get something similar to Weller 107... but i'm not sure why. For example, people were all about that Paragon Wheated Single Barrel and those are usually around 108-109 proof... but they are just okay (and taste a bit young). JEP puts out a cast strength bottle with a wax seal. Those are better than the decanter IMO. The decanter bottle is cool but I'm not a fan of squatty odd shaped bottles.
Best price is at Kroger. They sourced some really good juice for that. I don’t love finished stuff but it is delicious. I hope you have a great time here. Cheers!
I will guess 57. I’ve looked for Old Soul Tintype, but no luck. I’m also interested in trying Green River offerings. I just about blew my bourbon budget for the rest of the year. I got Stagg batches 22A & B, EH Taylor small batch, John J Bowman single barrel, Old Pepper single barrel, James E Pepper decanter series, Eagle Rare, Bardstown Discovery 11, Tumbling Dice, a Knob Creek single barrel store pick, and Clyde Mays special reserve.
Ragged Branch is just disgusting. I wish they had better stuff but something is wrong with their whiskey. The 2nd worst pour of ANY whiskey I've ever had is Ragged Branch Wheated Bourbon. The worst pour I've ever had was Kindred Spirits 7yr Rye (some random Spirits Direct bottle at Total Wine). Both of those tasted like someone scooped up dog drool, mixed in a bit of dirt from the garage, and bottled them with a dash of sugar. Gross. They hold the glorious honor of both being the representatives of 0/5's for their categories on my whiskey ranking list.
Do this every month. Love to see the variety and hear the comments. It puts more things on the radar for the hunt!!

I’m going with 35 bottles and wish I had 1/2 your collection. It’s an amazing collection of whiskey you have !! I enjoy your videos.
That pursuit double Oaked is finished with 36 month seasoned French Oak staves.
Guess you do like French oak TJ, you just didn’t know it yet
I love seeing the bourbon hunts and the end of the month pick up videos. It’s fun to see what you can find since we don’t see a lot of that stuff here in Indiana.
You've made an impact TJ. I know what to look for whenever I'm in the US. It's just too bad most of these great whiskies will never make it to Canada
Aberlour rye is a scotch whiskey ??
I really don’t buy anything under 100proof , if it’s not bonded, cask strength or barrel proof it is probably not for me.
Lies again? Bang Bros Bukit Batok
Single barrel is awesome
Olde Raleigh is the best! They're blending from 4 different states and using stock as old as 19 years. Their batch 13 is incredible and has a surprising bell pepper finish to it.
I would love it bc I’ve learned so much of what’s out there and I too think the smaller distilleries are the right thing to follow and buy from
It would be interesting to see the bottles you finished.
Bottle killed! Love this month wrap up!
I was at that pursuit pick, and he’s not joking about the Pursuit Double Oak. Don’t sleep on that bottle if you are near their distillery. At $60 (if I remember), it will sell out once the word gets out.

Also makes good cornmeal for cornbread. And pretty solid grits.
Love this haul format, keep em coming

My order of Frey ranch is supposed to be here tomorrow, thanks to you, I’m so excited to taste.
I have 3 of the bottles frey ranch produces, and I've never had anything like the flavor profile they produce. Their 100% wheat is my favorite so far.
Bottles are like fishing lures. They look great, but many don't catch fish. I love your show.
Thanks for the great review on some exciting whiskey. Like this format. Can’t wait to try a Frey Ranch.
If you like the MGP rye, try the prideful goat out of Texas. It’s cask strength and tons of delicious caramel and toasted pecan.
I like this format of a video. Fun to see the monthly haul.
Great video TJ love these kind of videos
Would love to taste a Frey Ranch one day but they are not sold here. They look so yummie!
We had a great time at Ben Holiday last time we were there. Definetly getting the tour next time!
Love this video format and I definitely enjoy my bottle of Ragged Branch cowboy cut that I picked up for a 20 spot.
The Frey Ranch 100% Wheated should be out this weekend according to their newsletter, so good timing!
repeat this format! loved it! next time your near southern Indiana check out Hard Truth sweet mash bourbons and Rye. The four grain is like desert in a bottle. TonyB
Now you are just showing off..... Love it... Keep it up
Keep the monthly haul reviews coming. Watched the whole episode

Hey Brewzle! Is $102 a bad price on a Michters Barrel Strength Rye?
Try jimmy red, it uses jimmy red corn, that corn is more oily, and at one time very rare it almost went extinct
As a McLaren F1 fan, I was happy to see the JDxMclaren bottle! Especially after Landos first win 🎉
Cool video. Like the end of month summary. Imho, you should do this every month
I picked up a bottle of that bulleit rye. It was really good!
Thank you
I want to get a bottle of that Frey Ranch single barrel. Unfortunately they don't sell that here in Louisiana...yet!!
Illinois hasnt been getting anything from them either yet.
Im definitely looking forward to when we do though.
Good format TJ.
Crittenden and Dettling videos were GREAT 👍 👌 💯🥃
Love the bottle hauls
You should stop at old nick Williams in Lewisville nc when you go on the east coast trip
I was hoping to see the bottle of Pure Kentucky that the wife got while you were filming.a past episode.. Curios as to what you think,
I’m going to get 112. That seems insane to me. Seems like it would be “borderline crazy” to you.
Like this keep ‘em coming
you need to try swamp fox kettle Creek single barrel small batch 115 proof
watch a lot of your vids and would love to pick up a few bottles out of your list but.......... it sucks cause i live in Ontario Canada and a major part of your list, Pursuit, Frey ect. our Provence run liquor LCBO stores don't carry them delicious bottles of bourbon.
Bottle kill, my Glencairn is on it's way :)
I'm local to alabama, where could one buy a bottle of the Brewzle pick Dettling?
Bottle kill!! Really enjoyed this. Even my wife watched and she doesn’t drink!! 🥃
Awesome, I want a bottle of the Holladay bourbon lore so bad!
I hope to get close to your level one day. Great job sir
That Pursuit DO is sold out. Could anyone else recommend a “butterscotch bomb”? Thanks

To each their own. I personally think it’s better than the handful of single barrels iv tried. 100 is a bit much but damn good blend.
The best moonshine comes from Jimmy red corn, its the best corn to use .
The JEP Decanter isn't that great IMO. It got plenty of hype but it just doesn't do it for me. TJ sucks down these whiskeys so quickly, it's honestly amazing he can pick up any notes at all.
I’m not sure the backing music adds to the content… you might reconsider it next time- but keep ‘em coming, I love the videos❤!
would love this as a monthly or like, quarterly and only mention the biggest pick ups
My guess was 48 bottles… I really hope I can get my hands on that Copper & Kings bourbon when I go to Kentucky later this year
Best price is at Kroger. They sourced some really good juice for that. I don’t love finished stuff but it is delicious. I hope you have a great time here. Cheers!
@@graeme13 thanks for the suggestion! Cheers!
How do you get the bourbon mailed to you in Alabama? I'm from Dothan and tried to get family in Florida to send me some up but they're never allowed
Awesome video
Love this vid
@Brewzle I heard you say you went hunting in Mandeville, LA. That's where I'm at. Do you have any footage of it? Would love to see it.
It’ll be released in the next week or two
Awesome! Thanks!
great video
Tj can you please do a full collection video I know that’d take hours but I think it’s definitely worth it
Like everything u do!
Are the 15 year Old Soul bourbons distillery only?
Being that I live on the west coast how can I gain access to these craft whiskeys?
Camera quality looking crisp 🥃
Combine the red and blue corn. Your welcome
Fun Video TJ!
cream cheese forward
I want to come join you at your bar and try the Frey
I'm gonna have to come drink at the house.
Great video brewzle!! Do a video like this every month. Also when are u letting more 100 proof people join
88 bottles living my bourbon life vicariously thru you brewzle
70 bottles is my guess!
Originally thought 200ish, then was like that’s crazy, so said 60-80
I work for a company that can help you solve the problem of the barrels cracking
Hell ya show off what you get each month, it helps our wishlists 🎉
I'm going with 115 bottles.
every month!!!
Nice haul!
revise to 98 bottles
Have you had anything by Hard Truth? TonyB
That weed bourbon taste way better after sitting in a mini barrel for a bit longer
18 bottles
You should totally have your son make an excel spread sheet to track bottles every month
I was gonna guess 30 bottles for 30 days of april but looks like you might be averaging over 3 bottles a day!😂
I was going to say 45 bottles....but then when I see 9 after day 1, I'm upping my guess to 225
Ya baby fray 134 nice.
93 bottles
200 bottles is my guess
Making my adjustment, 90 bottles?
And just like that, we'll never see that Pursuit United Double Oaked will be impossible to find because of your hype...😢😂
Ragged Branch is just disgusting. I wish they had better stuff but something is wrong with their whiskey. The 2nd worst pour of ANY whiskey I've ever had is Ragged Branch Wheated Bourbon. Rich from New York. My guess is 215 bottles
I guessed 60 so I was pretty close
