    Nice video! In my opinion, the MN99 looks and moves more scale than the Fayee. The Fayee looks more plasticky and toy-like than the MN and has got too much wheel speed. But they are both great rc's for a reasonable price and offer loads of fun. Your MN99 needs a 20A or 25A ESC to cope with that bigger motor 👍

      Hi I'm planning to buy the MN99 and would like to start this hobby. May I ask what you mean by upgrading the MN99 to a 20A or 25A ESC? What part of the MN99 is that? So I can order together with the MN99. Thanks

      @@mark.a.estrecho Hi, welcome to this great hobby. If you are just starting out, then the MN99 is just fine in stock form. The 10A (ten amperes) electronic speed controller (ESC) is good enough to cope with the current that the stock motor draws so there is no need to change it. I told the other guy to change it because he changed the stock motor with a bigger one. I don't know whether you have any experience with making modifications such as changing motors, electronics etc. but if you have none, just enjoy the model in stock form, it is very good. Then if you want to start doing mods and upgrades, I suggest you watch many TH-cam videos to learn before starting. That's the way I learned. My MN99 has now got a brushless motor and 25A ESC and I am using my personal transmitter to drive it, not the stock transmitter. Good luck!

      @@radiocontrolled9181 thank you so much for clarifying. I'm excited for my order to come and get out the dirt and test this RC. On my younger years, late 90's I was hooked with mini 4x4 Tamiya and would like to hop in to this RC Crawler as my new hobby when off work. Thank you and have a great day!

      @@mark.a.estrecho you're welcome. I got my first primitive RC from my father as a present when I was about 12 years old. Got hooked. I was lucky to have a set of rechargeable Ni-Cd batteries and a battery charger back then! Then I bought my own first RC in 1991 when I started working. It was a Tamiya Saint Dragon buggy. I still have it to this day but it is heavily modified lol with a brushless system and upgraded wheels and shocks. A very useful mod for the MN99 is to add weight inside the wheels because in stock form it tends to flip over a lot. Adding weight to the wheels will stabilise it. Unscrew the wheels off. Remove the rubber wheels from the rims. Then neatly and carefully wind two layers of soldering wire on each rim. Use a couple of turns of electrical tape at the end on top of the soldering wire to keep the wire in place. Reinstall the tires on the rims. Easy and it works wonders.

    Hi. Thanks for the nice video. Could you suggest any way to improve on the MN99 slow control? Any way to lower the initial throttle to make it slower?
    Also how much wheel weight did u add in the MN?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @SAMAXRC
      @SAMAXRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Unfortunately the only way to get better slow control from the mn99 is to change its electronics. I have now upgraded to the WPL RES v3 system which can be found here www.wpl-rc.com/collections/electronics/products/r-e-s-v3?ref=samax_rc the system has really good slow control. I can't quite remember how much weight I put in the wheels, I think it was around 50g per wheel.

      @laszlonagy153 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SAMAXRC 1st of all thanks for the reply.
      So even having a more serious transmitter with throttle exp settings would not help with this slow control? So is it a must to change the board in it as well?
      About wheel weights, you mean you put an extra 50g in eact wheel? or the end weight of the wheel was 50g.

    • @mark.a.estrecho
      @mark.a.estrecho 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @demomicrocrawlerclub
      @demomicrocrawlerclub 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mark.a.estrecho Hi. Since then i found many ways to do so. 2 easiest were to put lots of bolts tight around the wheels, or to put tin-lead solder arount the wheel in 2-4 rounds. I choose the 2nd one, i put 3 rounds, it gave me ~30g extra /wheel.

      @@SAMAXRC Hi. Could you advice on MN99s please? I managed to get the wpl v3 as you suggested, its great thanks :), only issue i found are the lights. Is there any easier way to connect the lights to the WPL electronics other then rewire all the light connectors? The mn99s had its own light board and special connector on the electronics to handle the lights, but this is not plug and play for the wpl v3. Any suggestion on this? Or I should start to rewire all the light cables?
      Thanks in advance

    I’d say stay away from those giant leaves man! Not scale and kind of like expecting it to climb the stairs in your home. RC crawler fans try to replicate scale conditions for their rigs.
    I’m not seeing the oft repeated “really good slow control” on the FY. ..
