    SharaLeigh H.'s story was SO GOOD! How lucky to get closure... AND an APOLOGY?!? Being in an uncomfortable and honestly terrifying situation like that is way more commonplace than it should be and all too relatable for so many people! But the ending was SO UNEXPECTED, it brought a tear to my eye! Thank you so much for sharing 💜

    First I want to say that darkness prevails is my favorite scary story TH-cam channel not only because of his style but because of the variety of stories and nobody can tell these creepy scary and bizarre stories better than darkness prevails.... Even being a huge horror buff being born on Halloween and eating paranormal stuff for breakfast and seeing way too much in my life than should and being an empath and Paranormal Investigator for over 30 years.... Many times because of his storytelling style even I get creeped out sometimes... And that takes a lot.... Keep up the good work.
    Store number one is definitely creepy because I know what it's like to work the graveyard shift with very few employees I also know what it's like to travel on dark lonely roads at night on deliveries.... The weird, strange, bizarre in freakish things that I've seen people have dealt with you wouldn't believe it if I told you at this first story is my favorite.
    In regards to story number 2 having worked with contractors and construction I can tell you most of them are rude, lewd, crude obnoxious very rough around the edges.... But this shouldn't went as far as it did.... They were probably tolerating him because of the business at the expense of the safety of the employee..... The fact that he found out that she in the end was getting married made me think that maybe there was an insider that was working with him because how else did he find out that she was getting married and leaving? I think he became romantically obsessed with her and once he found out that she was getting married he would try one last pitch.... I don't think it was genuine at all his apology.
    In regards to the cop story I mean yeah there's always going to be cold-blooded murderers that that's just part of the job of being a cop I would assume....

    Number two is why I always used to carry a box cutter on me when I worked in a grocery store. Weirdos came crawling out of the woodwork on the closing shift. I worked in the deli and was on closing shift alone a lot. The deli back then was in the very back corner of the store, pretty isolated at that hour. One night, I had a guy a come in and stand maybe fifteen feet away and just stare at me. He didn't stay a word, just stared at me. I reached for the wall rack and took out one of the deli knives, making sure he saw what I was doing. I never found out what his intentions were because the stock crew manager came by. John was over six feet, built like an NFL player. Nicest, sweetest guy. The creeper saw him and took off. John asked me if I was okay and promised he'd make sure the guy left store property. All the times I had to take garbage out to the dumpster in the dark behind the store and my close call came inside the well-lit store.

    Story 2: That's insane! How could they not have a second person on closing shift.

    • @suzzannegabel1636
      @suzzannegabel1636 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I worked at a grocery store as a deli clerk when I was 19, often on the closing shift. In the deli and bakery, they'd only schedule one worker to close in each department. At the time, we were all women in those sections. Part of the closing routine was to take the day's garbage out to the dumpster. Behind the store. In the dark. Where there was only the security light over the door and one light pole a few yards away from the dumpster. Creepy as hell on dark, rainy nights. Nothing bad ever happened, beyond startled rats leaping out of the dumpster. I did hear about coworkers catching dumpster divers a few times. Years after I quit, they finally started scheduling male workers on the closing shift. I guess management finally got enough complaints that they had to make changes.

    That story about the seizures makes me cringe. I have epilepsy and one of my many spells I apparently fell forward and hit my head full force on the hardwood floor. I tried to refuse medical after I started regaining my senses but paramedics weren't having it, I had no idea why... My head hurt but I always hurt after a seizure. I reached up to touch my head and above my right eye was sticky. They kept telling me to leave it alone. So I get to ER and needed 7 stitches in my eyebrow area. Had to stay overnight. That was 2012-2013 on my eyebrow area it's still tender in spots and you can feel where the bone cracked. My oldest son God love him, cleaned up the blood. He said it looked like a murder scene (you know head wounds). I feel bad for anyone having seizures. I know I am not in pain during a seizure (kind of leave my body) when I start coming to my daughter is in my face helping me stay calm. Afterwards is scary AF when your brain is "rebooting". She has made herself a semi expert in seizures because or taking care of me.

      @@itsjustme7487 Back in the 80's my brother worked at McDonalds. Somewhere in the US a female worker was murdered when she left after closing. McDonalds immediately instituted a policy that no one could close alone and that there had to be at least two people leaving at the same time. I don't know if that policy is still in place but the nation is even more dangerous now than it was then.

I met someone like he describes about 20 years ago and I will never forget it. His eyes sent chills down my spine and I don’t ever want to be around someone like that again. Last time i went into a walmart bathroom, there was this guy in there. He was massive, at least 7 feet tall. Very portly, wearing some kind of boiler suit or work clothes, and absolutely covered head-to-toe in some kind of black tar-like substance. When I walked in, he was kinda stood against the wall facing the corner. When he heard me enter, he turned halfway to face me and smiled, and nodded nonchalantly. I used the urinal and washed my hands like normal as he eventually decided to enter the handicapped stall. Idk if it was just a guy who had just gotten off from his messy job and stopped for groceries, or if i saw the ghost of walmart sewer pipes.

    I think Frank had some time to think about his actions and what he’d done it was only till he took a step back did he realise that the way he was acting is the way that a decent human being shouldn’t act. Talking to people who saw what was happening from a different point of view it was lucky he saw the error of his ways he had time to think.

    I liked the story about Frank, I can understand some of the frustration a older man can feel knowing their past your prime, and the best days when you were strong, and full of piss and vinegar are now behind you, and can never be revisited, some guys feel the need to overcompensate to mask the aches and pains that now never seem to pass, it can be rough. It's good Frank listened to his sister, even though I'd say he already knew his actions were out of line and probably out of character, he can now move on and be a little wiser next time

    The deputy that said he encountered demons, may have encountered exactly what we classify as demons. About 1/3 of the people on earth are soul-,less and from somewhere else at least that is what I have been told. It seems they can kill with absolutely no emotion except self-pity if they get caught. Now that is scary!

    Lol the first story made me laugh, kinda bitterly. That's literally just customer service. I've worked in lots of grocery stores and supply shops and the amount of entitled old people, particularly the Sunday crowds, who feel it's appropriate to touch you or grab you or throw things at you is just part of the job. Just two days ago, I was checking out my second customer of the day and he reached for me over the counter, and when I recoiled, he was like "uh oh I just want a high-five from ya! Can I get one?" And I was like no. Just no. So then he leans over again and I recoil again, and he's like "well how about a fist bump?" And I had to tell him that's not my job and that he's paid and that he needs to leave. The kicker? He was wearing a Christian sports shirt. I'm sure he's just as touchy with the kids he evidently coaches. I also absolutely HATE working over Sundays because you're guaranteed at least two or three encounters like that right after church lets out in the afternoon. That and the "*finger snaps* MANAGER. NOW." people.
