Hi Vinny, Great story, things sure have changed. Racing isn't what it used to be. I liked the story about the reverse clutch. It reminds me of a few stories of when I used work on a lot of cars. The kit looks great. I'm sure it won't take long to catch up. Thanks for sharing. Have a great dat. Jeff
hi Jeff... we had a 2 hour window to do our racing... that's when the police would change shifts... i don't think there's a generation that was/is as crazy as we where... .the Duster is a little further along since this video... very nice kit.. it has color ....thx 4 watching & your comment.. vinny
Hi Vinny. A good story of mis-spent youth. I used to do a similar thing with motorbikes. We used to race across Chelsea bridge or Blackheath common. Seen some nasty accidents too , but hey thats what young men do. I don,t model cars but I must admit that watching your videos is stirring my interest. Thanks pal. Take care buddy. Regards from across the 'Pond'.
hello Brian... sounds like you guys were more dangerous than we where...LOL... you should get a kit & build it...you will get hooked... i appreciate you stopping by & commenting... vinny
The Duster is a very nice kit, the body is extremely tight on the chassis that it warps it slightly. Love your racing backstory 👍, Stewart's ice cream sodas is still on 5th Ave & 86th St Bay Ridge. You won't be able to race on the ramp anymore since Bridge and Tunnel police will lock down both ends trapping you on the bridge.😮
hi David... very cool that you know the area.... we did not race on the bridge but on the bridge off ramps... as you can see in the photo... it was fun times... thx 4 watching & your comment.. vinny
Great Story Vinny that Bridge is one of the reasons I retired early For us it was the local train station where we hung out and set up races and used a long culdesac in Kenilworth
Good Thang that statutes of limitation is there or with that confession you might get a ticket. 😅. Cool kit there cuzzz. Looking forward to the build Take care sir. See you on the next video
hi dave.... lots of fun back in the day...we did our racing between 11PM & 12:30 AM... that's when the cops changed shifts.. the build is a little further along now.. stay tuned for the next update.... vinny
Great video Vinny, I grew up in Jersey I know that area you were talking about, the Verrazano narrows also known as the G--- gang plank for those that know. In the mid 80’s I had a 71 Dodge Demon with a 440 and a 727 automatic had fun in that car.
hello Chester... sounds like had great car back in the day... wasn't the 727 the top of Mopar's line of trannys... i appreciate you stopping by & commenting... vinny
hello Smith ...i know the bridge you refer to in Tacoma but this bridge is in Brooklyn NY & connect to Staten Island... i appreciate you stopping by & commenting... vinny
