The Nikon D850 has been such an amazing camera for me. When I’m in a landscape photography situation and nature is putting on a show, I get a sense of calm and excitement at the same time knowing I have the D850 on hand to capture what I’m seeing. I’m really looking forward to more landscape adventures in 2025 🌅📸
I heard a guy on YT saying that one of his friends got over a million shots out of his D850. Now that is an impressive stat you do not hear that often. Also I have a Z7 (first gen) and it has that 45MP sensor that is on the D850 and the detail or resolution is just fantastic. I would save up and buy the D850 but I can’t see Nikon creating any new F mount lenses for it in the near future. In fact, I think Nikon needs to create a specifically photographers’ camera with some quality components like a Z version of the D850 and leave off a lot of the video hoohar but sell it for a bargain price. I think a specialist “stills” camera of high quality would sell well. Cheers
I agree wholeheartedly! Have loved mine for 4 years now and it goes everywhere with me. Image quality is outstanding and the features it boasts are second to none!
Adrian: Even after buying the Nikon Z9 and Zf, I then went out and re-purchased a new D850. After that, I purchased another slightly used D850 that had less than TEN shutter clicks. Like you, I will NEVER get rid of Either of my two D850s. Happy New Year! Paul Connors Randolph, NJ USA
Mine was just delivered this morning; I am going to pick it up tomorrow! While there are things i love about mirrorless cameras, sometimes for me a DSLR is still the better option, can't wait to use it!
I concur. I can’t imagine ever selling my D850 and my amazing compliment of lenses. I know it inside and out and (to me) it delivers time after time with all the results I demand and expect. It still is an amazing stills camera. It’s one that has garnered me a number of award-winning photographs. I can’t see any good reason to change.
Happy New Year Adrian. I’m in the D850 club now having just purchased a brand new one a few days ago. Looking forward to getting out and testing its capabilities. Hoping to have a long relationship with it. Cheers
I have 2 D850s and they are awesome. I do sunrise, sunsets landscape, wildlife and sports. The D850 does it all and does it well. you're right with the way it renders colors even some Sony users have made that comment.
Thank you Adrian for your beautiful, very insightful video with this great camera, which I still miss because I love using my D810. You are endowed with great unique abilities to see the beauties of the world and capture your enthusiasm. You can give young people a lot of advice on their journey. I thank you and wish you all the best and lots of joy! Flavia ❤😊
Hi. I have kept my D850 too along with my new Z8 and do not intend to sell it. It is amazing with my 500mm pf and 300mm f2.8 vrii. Both cameras cover everything I need in bodies and complement each other.
Thank you for your video on the D850... My first DSLR was my D500, which I bought in early 2019, and my D850 in spring 2022. I have no plans of ever selling them to go Mirrorless... With that said, the Nikon Z lineup of cameras are all fantastic cameras. So many awesome photographers on TH-cam have gone Mirrorless, and good for them... Like you and Courtney Victoria I will stay with my D500 and D850... So keep your video post coming... I will always be watching them. Thanks again Mark R. San Diego, Ca
Totally agree, I still love my D850, have not "upgraded' to a mirrorless. Went to Africa last October, the camera still did everything I wanted and got great photos, even in hot, dusty conditions, bouncing around in safari trucks. With a long lens and the camera, the weight sometimes got tiring, (quite understandable considering now that I am in my seventies} but I have no plans to replace it in the near future.
Sold my DSLR gear in 2023. Went mirrorless for a year. Sold my mirrorless gear at the end of 2024, and now I’m back to DSLR’s with a D850. Couldn’t be happier!
I have the Z9 since 2023. I bought the D850 in 2018 and I still have it. It’s a great camera. Not often but I take the D850 out with the 14-24 f2.8 and 200-500 f5.6 lenses. I don’t have them for the Z mount. I love the 200-500 mm !
For video I love the z series and for All stills I use my D850's ~ love them - after looking through the lens for over 40 years I stll can't get used to mirrorless - I even had an adapter board made for my Sinar P2 so I can shoot the D850 on the Sinar with my Nikkor 100mm macro 4X5 lens - gives me all the movements in product shoots with the ease of D850 tethered to laptop - ❤️❤️D850❤️❤️
As a loyal D850 I added a Z7 and a Z30 mirrorless camera to my collection in the past couple of years. But I have no intention of ever selling or trading in my D850. It is my main landscape body mostly due to the killer Image quality and superior construction. Happy New Year and thank you for these videos.
Im using it mostly for concert photography..its an absolute beast in low light situations (with the right lense of course). Shooting gigs a max resolution lets you crop in perfectly. Yes its heavy, old but hell this sturdy beast survived lots of gigs (even when the man behind the cam sometimes had a few beers in ;) )
I have never sold mine as well. I'm hoping that passing this down, it inspires my kids or grandkids to take up photography and a love of creating the same way the FM3a my Dad gave me did for me. Despite all of my various Mirrorless I have now...nothing has more keepers in my Catalog than the D850 still to this day. Cheers!!!
Nice video, thank you. I’ve owned the D850;since it came out, great camera and still use on occasion, can’t see me getting rid of it. While my primary are the Z9 and Z8 the D850 is nice to have.
There's a lot to be said for keeping hold of things that work for you. You've taken the time to learn all the little nuances and quirks of that camera (something a lot of photographers do not do) and know how to get the best out of it. And that sensor is as good as anything else out there.
Glad to hear others feel the same about their D850s. Adrian - I paired mine with the 500mm PF lens you referenced in the video and am VERY happy with the results. I’ve taken some amazingly sharp photos of birds. I look forward to the return of our spring warblers/songbirds in the northeastern U.S.!
Happy New Year, and thanks for all of great work you share with us. I had been shooting for 5 years, learning composition, learning from a few exceptional photographers, and processing when the D850 came out. I knew just enough to begin to use it. Over the last 7 years I have fully grown into and it is just such a large part of my story, not keeping it is just not on the table. Ohh, and yes I still carry and shoot my D750 too.
Hi Adrian, good to know you're still sticking to your D850! I've had mine since 2021, an upgrade from the D7200. It took me a while to master it, which in retrospect was a good thing since it helped me to bring some of the discipline I'd learned from years of film photography (I shoot film since I was 10 and never really stopped) into my digital photography. Now that I also have two of my dream F-mount primes (the 105mm f/1.4E and the 28mm f/1.4E) along a 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6G just like yours, I don't see myself letting go of my D850 anytime soon, even if I manage to get a Z8 or whatever upgrade to it Nikon comes up with by the time I can afford it. Body is as rugged and reliable as they come, ergonomics is a dream, extremely customizable, and that oh so sweet image quality - the resolution, the color science, the dynamic range... Can't ask for anything more, if you know what you're doing and are aware of the perils of shooting a 45MP camera with no IBIS, especially with longer lenses. Speaking of which, I do miss IBIS and I do crave that sweet Z glass - that's why I do have the Z8 in my sights - but my D850 is not going anywhere. The only two things I miss in my D850 are 1.) the aforementioned lack of IBIS, and 2.) the fact that the F mount does have some good/decent 50mm primes (I have the 1.8G and the 1.8D, never really liked the 1.4G and sold mine after a short while) but no exceptional ones like the Z mount has. There is the Sigma Art 50mm f/1.4 HSM and the Zeiss Otus Distagon 55mm f/1.4, of course, but I worry about the reliability and color rendering of the former as well as the (insane) price and lack of AF of the latter.
Adrian, Thank you for all your awesome videos using the D850. I have had mine for about 5 years. I think it is the best camera still on the market. I am still a novice but I continue to learn more and more with the camera. Best regards from Sandy Springs, GA
I have had my original D850 since 2018, and have captured many thousands of photos with it, and it is still as reliable as ever. As a matter of fact, when I briefly considered switching over to mirrorless camera/lenses, I came to my senses quickly and decided that the D850 does all that I need it to and more. This past September, I purchased a second D850 as a backup and secondary camera. I have been into photography since 1958, and have no desire whatsoever to switch over to mirrorless. I know the D850 well, and will stick to the tried and proven workhorse. Thank you for this encouraging video and for everyone that may need a little convincing that they already have the best. Carry on!
Hello Adrian, agreed on all your points about the D850. I have a Z7 but I kept using the D850 as its autofocus system is much better for bird photography than the Z7. That said, I recently purchased a pre-owned Z9 and I sold the D850 to help pay for the Z9. I now have the Z7 for travel as it is lightweight with a stellar sensor and the Z9 for its amazing speed and autofocus abilities. I do miss the D850, I just felt I wasn’t going to use it much anymore and figured someone else could enjoy the camera. Cheers and happy new year my friend!
Thankyou Adrian! I really enjoy to look through my mirror (in my case a Canon 5DSR) without disturbing flickering and even the least of lag. All colours perfect and enjoyable. A simple setup with backbutton focusing and even spotmetering… simplicity and a real joy! Anyone else?? Best regards from Sweden
I am one of the owners of the D-850 and I will keep it definitely I even keep the D810 to which I really like the shutter the way it works even better than the D850, I wish the D850 had the same shutter of the D810. I do own to Z cameras and lenses and I switch between the F and Z mounts depending what I do and sometimes for the pleasure of shooting with different cameras. One reason to also keep the F mount lenses that perform well.
Agreed, the D850 is in my opinion the greatest DSLR ever made. I won't sell my D850 despite owning the Z9. My D850 is tricked out with the battery grip utilising the ENEL18 batteries for that faster burst shooting and incredible battery life. Shot thousands of photos with it, never a single hitch, 100% reliability even to this day.
It is a workhorse that produces amazing images and is versatile as well. I’m about to pull the trigger on a Z8 and have no intention on selling the d850. It’s too good to trade for such little money and is best kept as either a backup camera or to hand down in the family for others to enjoy. Chasing new technology is not always the best approach to improving your skill. I’m anxious to see the images from the Z8 combined with some z glass…goosebumps already!
I primarily shoot events and have used a pair of D750s for many years. Last year I decided to add the D850 to my arsenal. It has become my go to camera for portraits and situations where I know run and gun will result in a good deal of cropping. Colors and dynamic range are similar to D750 so post is not an issue when processing batch of [mixed] images taken with both models.
I still kept my D850 (and D700) despite owning three Z cameras….One very important reason for me is that I live in Canada and often shoot in very cold weather. Using this camera with gloves and the fantastic battery life, means it is my go to winter shooter. From Dec through April, it is tough to beat!
Great video Adrian! I own the D850, 750, 700, D200 and the DF. I'm a sucker for buying used gear and I absolutely love DSLR's still. The first part of my wedding career was carried by the wonderful D750. I could never really afford the D850 back then, but now with used prices what they are, it's completely doable to do. Even though I have a lot of the higher end mirrorless bodies in multiple systems, I always come back to the D850, as it's just an amazing camera to shoot with. I've even shot some family videos with it and, although it's not easy to do, the footage has a nice filmic look to it. To sum it up, the D850 is a camera I could shoot anything with for the rest of my life.
The D850 and D800e continue in my bag, from your words, ergonomic, very great shots, and never fail. Tested one Z8 but don't change the D850 are Switzerland precision. To video have one Panasonic HC-X2000, little, all manual and great quality, but for shot my nikon cameras. My son middle abandoned nikon and shot with iPhone 15 pro max, great shots avd video, but don't have the great nikon lens. Good year Adrian and guys.
Totally agree! It is one of the few cameras I decided to buy new as I new rather than second hand because, at the time, I knew I will never sell it. I’ve used Nikon since my first FM and FE cameras in the 70s and have used many different models but none come close except the D500 if you want a DSLR crop sensor. Thank you for your videos Adrian! 🤘😎📷🔥👍
I got mine last year on my 62nd birthday in September. Before her I had my trusty D80 and she’s still going but mainly for B/W now. I’m still learning to use the D850 as it’s such a big jump up from my D80 but what amazed me was 90% of the buttons are in the same place and have the same function so it’s not as big a shock to my system!!! But I’m thrilled with her already not taken a great deal of photographs as the weathers been terrible here in the uk and I’m disabled so have to be careful but that’s not stopped me learning how to use her and set her up for all the photography scenes I love. My biggest problem is setting her up for aircraft as we have a couple of Spitfires fly over our house most days so I want to take a lot of photographs of them flying landing etc. I’m desperately saving up for a 80-400mm or the 200-500mm ??? The 80-400mm is probably going to be the one for me as I’ve watched your videos on it and the passion you have for this lens has truly been my inspiration, actually for the D850 to 😍😍😍 so it’s your fault 😁😂🤣 anyway keep up the great content and enjoy yourself taking some wonderful photographs in 2025, all the very best to you sir, and thank you again for all you do for us and your passion and honesty 😎😎😎
Spitfires! Oh WOW! They are my absolute fav aircraft. I think the 80-400mm should well and truly do you. I heard a lot of people shoot airshows with that lens. Thanks for watching 🙏
@ thanks for replying to me and you’ve definitely made up my mind now 👍👍👍 80-400mm all day long 😎🤩😍 hopefully I can send you some of them both in the summer. Our two air twin seaters and offer flights to the public. For a 10 minutes flight it’s £3,500 so if I ever win the national lottery I’ll send you an airfare ticket to come over and a half hour flight in a Spitfire 🤩🤩🤩 in the mean time I’ll continue saving for the lens 😁😁😁👍👍👍
I have shot numerous equestrian events as well as nature and bird photos with my D750 and D500... I just purchased the D850 a couple weeks back specifically because of it's performance in many of the reviews I have looked at compared to the mirrorless options available. I have done some of my first test runs with the D850 paired up with my 70-200 F2.8 and the results are awesome! At a third of the price and the fact that there are many functions on the Z series I wouldn't use it was an easy choice for me!
The Rock...my flagship camera...like you i can afford to buy any camera i want but it wont improve my photography thats down to the man behind the camera...an incredible tool and i will be hanging on to it forever 😊👌...
Also the Nikon D7100 is my daily carry on camera., allways in my bag , never dissapoint me, also d810 i currently own, I wish to grab a D850, the prices are still high , this is another reason why is the goat camera, overall i think is the most qualified, keep up the good work, cheers !
Hi Adrian, happy new year, buddy! It is really like that: if you are able to capture the images you'd like to capture and the costs for an upgrade don't lead to a higher advantage than the costs, it's better to stick to your camera. Great that you have a setup that works 😉 Enjoy your weekend, Christian
Hi Adrian : Yes it's a fantastic camera , l used for my wildlife photography in Srilanka and having two bodies as unable to shift lenses in a short while as sometimes my subjects could be very small as a bird or as large as an elephant in my wildlife trips , l have been on most of the time. I photographed Elephants , bears , leopards and other large animals to small as song birds to all kinds of owls and bird of prey. The best combination for me is my 400mm prime f 2.8 with D850 for leopards , Sloth Bears to many large birds. Fantastic camera and with the combination of low light lenses to go with , the images are brilliant and fascinating to watch at home again and again. Now have thousands of photos for many years of photography. Regards , Shantha
Yes awesome camera l be a professional landscape photographer here in Australia for 33 years and use my D850 for last three years and it be fabulous and will never sell it ,and had D800 and 800e sold last year and now purchasing a D810 which still an awesome camera. And maybe later l my purchase Z8 but wait a new model comes that fix the issue off over heating in long session video mode . Cheers Take care
Ive had my d850 just over 2 years now and absolutely love it. My wife bought me the pf500mm lens last year and i was amazed good it is.I had the nikon 200-500mm lens before but the pf500 is something else. I mainly shoot landscape now and occasionally take my 500mm with me you just never know when you might spot a deer. Anyone looking for a new camera bag i can highly recommend the Shimoda x50v2. With a large core unit i can carry the pf500, 70-200f2.8, 14-24f2.8 and my d850 with 24-120f4 lens attached. I use my roll top for filters and waterproofs.Plenty of pockets for batteries and other equipment . Yes its heavy but its the old saying if you dont take it with you 9 times out 10 you want to use it.
I shoot aerial work, and my clients have remarked on how they can crop way in on the images and still get plenty of resolution. I want every megapixel I can get, and the D850 delivers. I've had it since the first week it came on the market. I just got a Z5, but it's just a toy.
Nice job, thanks. I shoot the D850 as well as the D750 and D500 depending on the situation. For my purposes, I cannot imagine getting better results with any "more advanced" gear, and while I have not yet tried the newest models of Nikon Mirrorless, from those that I have handled, the DSLRs I currently use are ergonomically speaking far more comfortable in my somewhat larger than average hands. No plans to switch systems, at least not for the foreseeable future.
There are number of photographers who have D850 have not bow down to mirrorless until their workhorse is giving the results, getting proper support and are able to still buy it! and sometimes I feel, this number is growing!!! BTW how does it fare in autofocus dept as compared to current mirrorless? I don't have D850
I have the D850 for the past 4 years or so. I use it for landscape, seascape. cityscape, nature, travel and architecture photography because of the 45MB sensor, battery life, and the ease of use/my familiarity. I also use it because the sensor is less exposed to grit, dust and the like compared to mirrorless alternatives when I am outdoors in the rain, etc.. Roughly, my skillset and the camera features are now in the same ball park. I also have a lot of Nikon f-mount lenses and Lee SW150 filters to go with them all. So I am totally invested. I did feel that it was not good enough for sports and bird photography, focus acquisition-wise, so I got the Nikon D5 just for these two categories. If Nikon comes out with a 65 MB or more sensor, I might consider a move. However as they are still manufacturing the D850, perhaps they could come out with a D850s or D860 with such a larger sensor too?? Wishful thinking..
The D850 is the camera My hand always goes to! I’ve used other cameras, even mirror less, something about the D850 it’s amazing! Thinking about it I guess it’s trustworthy, it always works
For my purposes the Nikon D500 is the perfect camera. Even though I own a Z5 and I have a Z50 II on order(replacing my Z50). When you get a camera like the D850 which does everything, there’s no reason to ever get rid of it unless you’re worried about Nikons income statements!! 😅😅 I believe when a camera fills all your requirements, you keep using it! For the reason I still have my F100 and FM2n. ❤😊
I'm tempted to buy one. I have the D800 which is a fantastic camera but the articulated screen on the D850 would help my 66yr old back I rarely use the viewfinder on a camera now because of a problem with my right eye If I went mirrorless I'd have to buy the lenses, which I already have with the FX system Adapters look crap to be honest. Keep up your D850 work 📷👍
I feel the same way with my d750. I haven't owned a d800 series and haven't really needed to. I can do big prints and stitch for even bigger prints if needed. However most people just want files for online or small prints. Unless you're a pro making money working as a photographer then there's really no need to upgrade or buy anything new. If the tax returns are great they do it, but if not then save that money for better things. Damn I still know people using the d700
I became a Nikon user 2 years ago with the D800 and the 28-70, which I fell in love with. Then a year later the D850 arrived and, although I was not able to notice many differences with the D800 (which in used market I believe still has a very high quality/price ratio), then I sold the latter and I have no intention of parting with the D850. I recently bought the 500PF, which is excellent for large or close birds, but is a bit short for small or distant ones; and I do not like the performance of the 1.4II teleconverter at all (while it is quite good on the D500). I ordered the III... we'll see... Thanks for these considerations of this immense machine.
Have to admit I love my D850 not interested in any other brands or models I looked at a Z8 but I have so many vintage lenses, I know you can use an adapter I keep using it until I can’t anymore colours are amazing 🤩 it’s a great camera for IMO the best Nikon ever produced
Despite having the z8 and z7ii, I kept my d850. A great dslr, I use it for wide field Astro and now imaging my negatives from my Nikon f2 and mamiya 645.
I agree with you although I think a z8 is as good as the d850 in landscape But better for birds and wildlife also for nocturnal the z8 has a feature that you see well at night I have a d850 but would gladly switch to the z8 hi
I'm watching this video as I'm about to trade-in my old D700. It's been a trusty camera for several years now but I feel like it's time to change. I've been debating getting a D850, or completely changing over to mirrorless with a Z6 iii. After watching lots of videos and trying out the cameras at a local store, my current thinking is to get the D850. I can use my existing lenses, then maybe pick up a used Z fc with the 16-50mm lens to use as a travel camera.
All i ever hope to hear is continued reassurance about you and your 850- will reassure me that i never sell mine- that and a multitude of lenses. I have a buddy in Victoria whom i have to visit. I'll ring you when i'm in town! i'll bring my 850!
I’ll never sell my d850 either. Every time I get it on my hands I still feel its reliability and robustness which gives me confidence while shooting. There are no buts to this camera.
The Nikon D850 has been such an amazing camera for me. When I’m in a landscape photography situation and nature is putting on a show, I get a sense of calm and excitement at the same time knowing I have the D850 on hand to capture what I’m seeing. I’m really looking forward to more landscape adventures in 2025 🌅📸
absolutely! What a great camera this is!! I'll never let her go...
I am a D850 shooter and I had my camera since 2017. I will continue to use this camera for years to come. It is an outstanding camera.
Thanks for sharing your experience. 🙏
Awesome video. I am also a D850 loyalist with no plans to go mirrorless. Thanks for keeping the dream alive. A fan from Pennsylvania, United States.
Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts!
DSLR forever!
I heard a guy on YT saying that one of his friends got over a million shots out of his D850. Now that is an impressive stat you do not hear that often. Also I have a Z7 (first gen) and it has that 45MP sensor that is on the D850 and the detail or resolution is just fantastic. Brilliant camera. It was my first Nikon camera I ever bought. Did not disappoint
Many thanks for watching 🙏
Thanks Adrian as always your segments are most no I should say informative & so enjoyable .
Appreciate your kind comment, thank you 🙏
It's a beast your Nikon D850 and you've captured some amazing shots and many thanks for sharing it - Happy New Year Adrian and 2025 be your best
Thanks for watching Shaun. Wishing you and the family a wonderful 2025. Take care 👍🙏
Absolutely the best camera ever!!!

Mine was just delivered this morning; I am going to pick it up tomorrow! While there are things i love about mirrorless cameras, sometimes for me a DSLR is still the better option, can't wait to use it!
Congrats and enjoy!
I am also a D850 loyalist since 2022, that along with my D300, does every thing I want, have no plans to ever go mirrorless.
I concur. I can’t imagine ever selling my D850 and my amazing compliment of lenses. I know it inside and out and (to me) it delivers time after time with all the results I demand and expect. Happy New Year Adrian. I’m in the D850 club now having just purchased a brand new one a few days ago. Looking forward to getting out and testing its capabilities. Hoping to have a long relationship with it. Cheers
Congrats! It’s a keeper for sure.
I have 2 D850s and they are awesome. I do sunrise, sunsets landscape, wildlife and sports. The D850 does it all and does it well. you're right with the way it renders colors even some Sony users have made that comment.

It truly is an amazing camera. The shots have such a depth & artistic quality to them - well yours do anyway!
Thanks - it's a great camera to use.

Great video and great camera. While it's 'old', it's a great reminder that good photography is about more than having the latest camera.
thank you for watching and totally agree, cheers 🙏
Another great video Adrian. I still have my D850, still use it, still love it. As you say, absolute quality.

Hi. I have kept my D850 too along with my new Z8 and do not intend to sell it. It is amazing with my 500mm pf and 300mm f2.8 vrii. Both cameras cover everything I need in bodies and complement each other.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your experience with the D850 🙏
Glad you’re staying the course. I just love the new Z glass and can’t go back. Here’s to more of your awesome content in 2025!🎊
Thanks for the kind words! I agree - the new mirrorless lenses are awesome.

Most incredible camera. Thank you for keeping it going Adrian. D850 rules.
thank you very much for watching 🙏
Thank you for this lovely video! I love the D850 so much that few months ago I bought a second D850 body while I still could get a brand new one.
Thanks for sharing!
Sounds like the D850 is still a great choice for you, glad you're getting great results!
I love the 200-500 mm !
cheers for watching and sharing your thoughts 🙏
I love my D850. I went from a D610 which I still own and I love each of them for different reasons.
thank you so much for watching 🙏
For video I love the z series and for All stills I use my D850's ~ love them - after looking through the lens for over 40 years I stll can't get used to mirrorless - I even had an adapter board made for my Sinar P2 so I can shoot the D850 on the Sinar with my Nikkor 100mm macro 4X5 lens - gives me all the movements in product shoots with the ease of D850 tethered to laptop - ❤️❤️D850❤️❤️
Thanks for sharing your experience! 🙏
@@tonytfuntek3262 thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts Tony - have an amazing 2025 🎉🙏
Im using it mostly for concert photography..its an absolute beast in low light situations (with the right lense of course). Shooting gigs a max resolution lets you crop in perfectly. Yes its heavy, old but hell this sturdy beast survived lots of gigs (even when the man behind the cam sometimes had a few beers in ;) )
Thanks for sharing your experience 🙏
Thank you! Wonderful pictures!
Cheers!!!
thank you for watching and sharing your experience, cheers 🙏
Totally agree, love mine. My wife has the Z8 and loves it, but I still want to keep using my D850!
Nice video, thank you. I’ve owned the D850;since it came out, great camera and still use on occasion, can’t see me getting rid of it. While my primary are the Z9 and Z8 the D850 is nice to have.
Thanks for watching 🙏
There's a lot to be said for keeping hold of things that work for you. You've taken the time to learn all the little nuances and quirks of that camera (something a lot of photographers do not do) and know how to get the best out of it. And that sensor is as good as anything else out there.
Thanks for the kind words and for watching. Much appreciated 🙏
Sounds like you've got a great setup for bird photography! 500mm PF + D850... I'm jealous 🙏
That's fantastic to hear. It is a great camera! 🙏
BLOODY MARVELOUS 🎉🎉
It's awesome to hear you're enjoying your D850 so much and are happy with your lens choices! Sounds like a great setup for you.
Carry on!
Thank you for sharing your experience!
@@leod1671 thanks for watching and sharing your D850 camera journey my friend. Hope you have a great 2025, cheers 🍻
@@Luigi13 thanks for sharing your experience 🙏
I bought my D850 in 2023, and it has been a workhorse. Concert, rodeo, skateboarding, portraits, you name it. One of the best purchases I have made
Glad to hear you're loving your camera and getting great results!
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your D850 journey my friend. Enjoy 2025 🙏
I use my D850 to shoot weddings and I love the quality of the images I create with this camera.
I’m anxious to see the images from the Z8 combined with some z glass…goosebumps already!
thank you for watching and sharing your experience, cheers 🙏
So beautiful; so grateful l took up the opportunity to acquire one. Now l have got to use it professionally😊
Thanks for sharing your experience and insights!

Thanks for taking the time to watch my video 🙏
I love my nikon d850
2025❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great camera! I own a Nikon D850 and i am very happy with it.
Thanks for sharing
I have a D850 I agree with you 100%
I have shot numerous equestrian events as well as nature and bird photos with my D750 and D500...
Glad to hear you’re happy with your choice!
I'm a professional wildlife photographer; Africa can be brutal on cameras and gear. Will never give up my D850!
The Rock...my flagship camera...like you i can afford to buy any camera i want but it wont improve my photography thats down to the man behind the camera...an incredible tool and i will be hanging on to it forever 😊👌...
Thanks for sharing you thoughts. Have a great New Year 🙏
Also the Nikon D7100 is my daily carry on camera., allways in my bag , never dissapoint me, also d810 i currently own, I wish to grab a D850, the prices are still high , this is another reason why is the goat camera, overall i think is the most qualified, keep up the good work, cheers !
Hi Adrian, happy new year, buddy! It is really like that: if you are able to capture the images you'd like to capture and the costs for an upgrade don't lead to a higher advantage than the costs, it's better to stick to your camera. Great that you have a setup that works 😉
Enjoy your weekend,
Christian
@@christian.irmler thank you for watching Christian. Hope you have a fantastic 2025 and looking forward to seeing you on TH-cam once again 👍🙏
Hi Adrian :
Yes it's a fantastic camera , l used for my wildlife photography in Srilanka and having two bodies as unable to shift lenses in a short while as sometimes my subjects could be very small as a bird or as large as an elephant in my wildlife trips , l have been on most of the time.
Regards ,
Shantha
Sounds like you've had some amazing experiences with the D850 and some incredible wildlife shots!

Yes Nikon D850 is a beautiful camera in 2025
I'll never sell mine. PS great video thankyou 👍👍
I prefer DSLR cameras, and I just picked up a D850 in October. I love it, it’s all I could ever ask for in a camera!
Glad to hear you’re loving it!
Yes its heavy but its the old saying if you dont take it with you 9 times out 10 you want to use it.
just picked up the sigma 14mm art for my Nikon D850 for under £700, can't wait to use it.
I shoot aerial work, and my clients have remarked on how they can crop way in on the images and still get plenty of resolution. I want every megapixel I can get, and the D850 delivers. I've had it since the first week it came on the market. I just got a Z5, but it's just a toy.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the D850, sounds like it’s still performing amazingly well for you 🙏
I rocked a D850 in Iraq and Syria. It is so amazing. I still want one of my own.
I hear you! The D850 is such a great camera and the ergonomics are amazing.
It undoubtedly is a great camera.
I don't have a D850, but I still am shooting with my Nikon D700till date.Love the D700 for the picture quality.of the 12MP camera...It rocks
Absolutely Realistic Nikon D850 - True m a r v e l ... it marvel zzzz ❤️❤️🙏🙏
There are number of photographers who have D850 have not bow down to mirrorless until their workhorse is giving the results, getting proper support and are able to still buy it! and sometimes I feel, this number is growing!!! BTW how does it fare in autofocus dept as compared to current mirrorless? I don't have D850
The D850 still holds its own in autofocus, but you will find "certain" Z mirrorless cameras do better with tracking.
It’s amazing how trustworthy those cameras are.
Street photography with a 50mm and wildlife with a 500mmf4, still my workhorse !
I am With you
For my purposes the Nikon D500 is the perfect camera. ❤😊
I totally agree - if a camera does what you need, hold onto it!
I'm tempted to buy one. I have the D800 which is a fantastic camera but the articulated screen on the D850 would help my 66yr old back
I rarely use the viewfinder on a camera now because of a problem with my right eye
If I went mirrorless I'd have to buy the lenses, which I already have with the FX system
Adapters look crap to be honest.
Damn I still know people using the d700
thank you for watching and sharing your experience, cheers 🙏
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your experience 🙏
Have to admit I love my D850 not interested in any other brands or models I looked at a Z8 but I have so many vintage lenses, I know you can use an adapter I keep using it until I can’t anymore colours are amazing 🤩 it’s a great camera for IMO the best Nikon ever produced
Totally agree!
Despite having the z8 and z7ii, I kept my d850. A great dslr, I use it for wide field Astro and now imaging my negatives from my Nikon f2 and mamiya 645.
I agree with you
although I think a z8 is as good as the d850 in landscape
But better for birds and wildlife
also for nocturnal the z8 has a feature that you see well at night
I have a d850 but would gladly switch to the z8
hi
thank you for watching 🙏
I'm watching this video as I'm about to trade-in my old D700. It's been a trusty camera for several years now but I feel like it's time to change. I've been debating getting a D850, or completely changing over to mirrorless with a Z6 iii. After watching lots of videos and trying out the cameras at a local store, my current thinking is to get the D850. I can use my existing lenses, then maybe pick up a used Z fc with the 16-50mm lens to use as a travel camera.
D850 is still an excellent camera, and it will give you beautiful photos.
All the D800 series is my personal favorite , especially Nikon D 810 & one of our team has Nikon D850 & there no way he going to sifting mirrorless .
All i ever hope to hear is continued reassurance about you and your 850- will reassure me that i never sell mine- that and a multitude of lenses.
I have a buddy in Victoria whom i have to visit. I'll ring you when i'm in town! i'll bring my 850!
