What Ms Nikki is calling a klezmer step is a kibbutz step. Love her British accent!
Shalom Jessica! This step comes from the Klezmer dance Hora Chadera (transliterated) by Yankele Levy in 1972 which is Hassidic. In my Israeli dance certification and license at the Israeli university, that step is taught "step behind step close" or "heal." Over the years especially in Messianic circles, other names have been given. For instance, in Israeli dance, there is no such name for a coupe. They would say step and then cross. Much love!
Hmm. I'm not familar w/ the Kibbutz step. That's a new one for me.
