i read so many bullcrap comments that theorized, that the reason for "no kiss" was because the actors were straight and didn't want to be gay on tv. i always had to comment back and tell them, that even if that was true, they would have been asked before they signed a contract, "if they would have a problem playing gay" if they said "yes", they wouldn't have gotten the job. haha i hope all those homophobic, narrow minded A-holes see this interview.

He said "no problem" Then he got a real contract. if he said he would have had a problem playing gay, someone else would have gotten the part of "Cyrus Endgame!" and they wouldn't have been called TYRUS. GLAD IT WAS LUKE. HE WAS AND IS PERFECT. He clearly said, early on, that he was surprised that they had considered him for more then the basketball epos. The basic outline for the show was written, but the scripts for epos were written as they went along. my guess is, that Terry saw the off stage chemistry between luke and josh and that's when Terri, decided to make TJ , Cyrus love interest. they weren't doing the story of the bible. the script or the story line, wasn't written in stone. ha ha. Yes, they know from the beginning that TYRUS would be the end game, but only after, Luke signed the new contract. THAT WAS WHEN "FROM THE BEGINNING BEGAN!"

It would havs been nice to see more of them together as a couple but also at the swings.

First, i'm happy with the ending, but not as happy as i would be, if the "bench scene" wasn't the end of the show, but was for the teaser/promo for season 4, epo 1, as it was originally intended to be. i would have loved for TYRUS to have had the opportunity, that everyone else had in the show of living a life in public and not in the closet. the disagree part! TJ and Cyrus, had the longest sustained relationship in in the show. it was almost unfaltering from the mufen scene to the bench. They were totally supportive of each other and helped each other grow and beome who they are today. the only snags? the gun scene. it didn't take TJ long to give up those friend and even turn them into the cops, just to show Cyrus, he was doing the right thing!. then Kira, the wicked witch of the west. She basically bulldozed TJ. She found his achilles heel!. All she wanted from TJ was to get on his bball team and become the captain to spite Buffy and be the winner. She moved in on him. Picked up the vibe, that there was more going on between him and Cyrus that his teammates didn't know about it. She had to have gay bashed him in some subtle way and hit him deep in his internalized homophobia. TJ thought that Cyrus was the one avoiding him and was hurt by that. he didn't realize that kira was driving him away. TJ told Cyrus, that he and kira weren't a couple. Why would he tell Cyrus that if it wasn't what he believed. TJ hated being on the swings with her and didn't make it a secret in front of kira that he was distressed that cyrus was walking away from the table. The build up of emotions between TJ and Cyrus was steady. neither of them ever tried to manipulate the other. every other character, had multiple relationships and disputes with friends as well. Not TJ and Cyrus. if anything was building up to a kiss, it would have been TYRUS. they were alone in the garden. during the entire scene, no one even walked by. it was only us watching. It's not like a typical, stereotypical (often depicted in movies and tv) gay pairing, that just met at a party and start to kiss and grind, before exchanging names. or the often depectited scene of the jock that bullies the "gay kid" then out of nowhere pins him up against the locker and shoves his tongue down his throat, then threatens him with "if you ever tell anyone, i'll kill you!" TJ and Cyrus have class and dignity. a kiss, wouldn't have been out of place. TJ needed Kira, to jump start his own feelings about his own sexuality then had go deal with what Cyrus really meant to him. Did you see the hour long interview Luke did, about a month ago? He more then just hints about being disappointed that Disney wouldn't let TYRUS happen. This guy is great! He's so humble, yet he's part of a piece of really important television history. Luke did a great job as T.J. I'm so glad he was the one to take on this groundbreaking role. Wish him all good things in the future.

for a show that basically had no LGBTQ content, other the Cyrus, subliminally came out a few times and said the world gay to Jonah (i think it might have gone over jonahs ) they went all out for the last dance. a girls wearing "rainbow" glasses? awesome. i wish i had seen someone wearing rainbow anything at the schools lunch room. also wish that Cyrus didn't stay in the closet for 2 1/2 years.

Did you see the hour long interview Luke did, about a month ago? He more then just hints about being disappointed that Disney wouldn't let TYRUS happen. He was very polite about it, but he's still very bothered as well.
I'm quite sure that "family friendly" Homophobic Disney + will never do the spin off. Especially after what they did to Love Victor.

As a 26 yr old, I'm obviously not the target demographic for the show, but I remember when I first heard about it and KNEW I had to watch it. I struggled so much when I was in middle/high school because I was outed, and I wjsh I would have had a show like this back then. So I'm so happy that kids who may be struggling have this show. Would love to see it picked up by Freeform/Hulu, but I won't hold my breath haha.
