Thank you Amber. Beautiful song. Parts of it made me think about my late wife who passed away from leukemia almost 26 years ago. Such a fitting title. Every Now And Then. ❤️
Great lesson Amber! I totally agree with your opening words too. When I first heard the song, it was powerful and emotional for me. It’s a classic example of how The Beatles could take a simply structured song and make it legendary. I play it on a Gibson J45 at least once a day. I don’t play AND sing, but I think this will be the first song for me to do that!
So appreciate your comment, thank you 🙏 yes i think you have hit the nail on the head with how the Beatles chord progressions and song structure are timeless and absolutely legendary! Good luck with the singing and playing at the same time! And you are right this is a great song to work on that skill 🎶✨
Though somehow I wish I were the only person shedding tears while this lady has been playing "Now and Then", I'd be mistaken. Thank you, merci, danke, arigato, gracias, terima kasih... for interpreting what my heart is thinking, and for taking me back to a beautiful decade. This song would be great to anyone busking or an orchestra. [Thank you TSG]
Hi Marcel, thank you for such a personal message, this song definitely evokes so much emotion 🙏 I hope I did the Beatles justice. Thank you so much for tuning in and your support, hope to see you in another lesson 🎶🌟
Hi Patrick, it’s great to meet you! Thank you for your lovely comment! 🎶😊 The Beatles are one of the timeless, special bands and their music touches the heart. Happy strumming 🎶
Aww amber! I just watched the video to this and got so emotional 🥹♥️so beautiful- thank you for this lesson. I’m so excited to learn it :) My dad loved the Beatles and he passed very young, but I can feel his beautiful soul while listening to this ♥️
Totally get you.. it’s eerie!! Lennon’s voice just gives me the chills!!! I also find that chord change to the Bm in the chorus always catches me off guard. It just hits me so hard, amazing what music can do ❤️🎶🙏
Oh my goodness, Amber, a heartfelt and stirring rendition of this beautiful song. Well done ❤ This genre of music suits your voice, personality, and musicality. LOVE LOVE LOVE ❤️ ❤❤❤ I felt such emotion in your strumming ❤
Thank you so much for tuning in and watching my guitar tutorial. 🙏🎶 I loved teaching this beautiful new Beatles song! They will forever be in our hearts ❤️
This song tutorial is possibly my favourite one yet! 🌟🙏 thank you for watching and supporting my channel always 🤗 yes the finger picking part is very cool!
didn't know about Aminsus4. I've been starting to play the 4 finger versions of Bm, Fmaj7 and C/G. i just got a record player and bought Wings Greatest Hits on vinyl (the album was almost as much as the record player. lol). all the Beatles have given us so much. a lot of guitar teachers don't sing so that's a nice bonus for the playalongs.
Hi Bruce 😊🎶 thanks for tuning in to the lesson, it’s a special one for me 🙏🌟 I’m so glad you enjoyed the singalong at the end too! Awesome that you are playing the 4 finger chord versions too!! 🎉
Hi John 🎶🌟 wow! Well done, I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed the lesson. I really appreciate your support and kind message. I am definitely going to teach more Beatles songs in the future! 🎉

Bravo, Amber ❤ beautifully done!! You got right on this tutorial, booyah 🎉 I thought the video made it too busy, and I couldn't pay attention to the music. Love what you did. I could hear the song. 🎶 ❤
Hi Nicole 🤗 woo hoo I did not delay with learning and teaching this song! 😅 as soon as I heard it, I just knew I had to teach it asap. The music video is VERY busy I do agree. Lots going on in there!! I am so pleased that you enjoyed my rendition of the song. Totally stripped back and I really did try to dig into the essence of the song 🎵 🙏🌟
Liked and subscribed! That was the most pleasant tutorial I’ve ever had on a song. You are so likable and the lesson was so easy. I think I can even play it! Haha. Can’t wait to try it tomorrow. Thank you so much Amber! I am a dedicated subscriber now.
Hi Roger! Thanks so much for the sub! 😃 I’m so glad to have you part of our awesome Stellar community of guitarists 🎵🎉 hope you had a chance to give this song a good play through!
@@thestellarguitarist I did indeed. I’ve never sung while trying to play and I decided to use this one to practice with. I’m getting better at it. Wish I knew what the secret of singing while playing is.
I think the secret is coordination and being on autopilot with your guitar playing skills. If you can hold a conversation whilst strumming your chords, then I’d say you could try singing and playing a song!

Amber, please thank your dad for the link, all like me I thank you for the tutorial, this song really has something extraordinary, it completely puts back in the atmosphere of the time I can no longer put it down plus it is an excellent exercise for rhythm 🎖🏆🥇 Amberveuillez remercier votre papa pour le lien ,tous comme moi je vous remercie pour le tutoriel, cette chanson a vraiment quelques chose d'extraordinaire, elle remet completement dans l'ambiance d'epoque je n'arrive plus a decrocher en plus c'est un excellent exercice pour la rythmique 🎖🏆🥇
Hi Alain! 😃🎶 thanks for tuning in to the lesson! As soon as I heard this song I just knew I had to learn it and teach it. I love it! 🙏🌟 I’ll pass your message on to my dad! 😄🤗
With respect and no offence intended your G6 is too strong with the b 3rd being a little 'muddy'. G6 in this tune is 4th finger on low G. 4th also mutes A string. Mid fing plays E on d string but mutes G string below. Bottom strings open. This keeps the too strong Emin feel out of it and the G6 feel is light as the recording. It's subtle but it does make a difference 🙂
Fair enough! I absolutely hear what you are saying and I know there’s been a few discussions around the Em and G6 chord. Thanks for sharing your knowledge here, always willing to hear a different perspective and learn from other guitarists 🌟
I am a big Beatles fan, but this song did not impress me or do anything for me. In fact, it was disappointing, and maybe just another way for the remaining Beatles to make more money.
Get with the song already too much introduction. Also, you should play it through once so we could see how it sounds instead of going straight to the instruction.

❤
Thanks for tuning in Ruben!
Can you do a piano tutorial as well?
Hi! Unfortunately I am not a pianist but I’m sure there are other piano teachers on TH-cam who teach this song 🎵
On the final run through is Verse 1 played twice (20 x measures) Verse 2 and 3 are single ie 10 measures only!
Yep I think you got the structure right! 🙌 the way I teach it in the lesson is exactly the same as the original 😊

the chord progession are very similar to Reflections of my life by Marmalade
Makes for a catchy tune doesn’t it! 🎶🙌

Hay una gran polémica por el acorde que sigue a *Am,* unos dicen que es *G6,* otros dicen que es *Em*
I like the G6 sound, almost has an Em/G sort of ring to it- best of both worlds in my opinion 🎶🙌
John W Lennon Genius
Agreed! 🎶👏🏻
With respect and no offence intended your G6 is too strong with the b 3rd being a little 'muddy'. G6 in this tune is 4th finger on low G. 4th also mutes A string. A "sus" chord cannot be major and minor because it does not have the third degree so it is "A sus 4" not "Am Sus 4"
Absolutely, you are right. Woops!
I am a big Beatles fan, but this song did not impress me or do anything for me. In fact, it was disappointing, and maybe just another way for the remaining Beatles to make more money.
