@@TomleyRC I had actually built a x0-1 to try and attempt the world fastest speed run with when they first came out I put over $10,000 dollars in to it converting it to dual motor 24s lipo system and the fastest I was able to get to run without catching air and losing control was 170mph
I jumped in on Rlaarlo’s 3rd anniversary sale and was able to get a 787 CF roller for $160 shipped. I’ve got a ton of other projects going on but I’m not far from being able to get this on the workbench and completed. This video is good motivation 👍
I was tight on cash about 6 months ago and sold my Infraction. Never missed an RC so much. Will be getting another this spring or may I be struck dead lol 😂
I'll probably just stick with my poor mans felony 7th scale , FTX SUPERFORZA GT cars , 4 in total in my collection . Over the recent sales and still currently you can pick up an FTX SUPERFIRZA GT for £450 , where'as I paid £479 & 475 for each of mine respectfully last year , I think 🤔 .
You got there in the end. Great video. I have both the FTX SupaForza and the Rlaarlo 787. Both of mine set up for speed runs. Just UK weather and a suitable place to run them holding me back.
Instead of dish soap. Use "Tacky glue." It's usually sold in the fabric section or arts and crafts sections of large retailers. This glue is very thick and can be peeled away once dry.
I have an X-01. I also have an I fraction. One of the cool things about the X-01 is the aerodynamics. When you get to a good speed it hunkers down making the speed run a bit easier. It’s a shame people aren’t pushing them like the Limitless.
Loved this video , ive never speed ran a rc before so my heart was in my mouth watching you run it along that narrow road at full speed after seeing your videos at rossa and the size of the runway
I must admit , the limitless is one is one of the best looking speed cars out there , even if it's a roller . Some of us RC'ers can't use a car no where near 100mph , nevermind even 60mph in our built area on your street next to your house / flat area . Even if your RC is capable of 60mph out of the box , some of us have no where really to run an RC capable of 60mph out of the box 🤔 🤣 . My Hoboa VS2-E and SST-E can hit that 60mph mark , but there is actually no where in my vicinity , where i can actually run them flat out 🤣🤣🤣 .
Great video! Heres my opinion, if any manufacturers try to claim fastest, then it needs to come RTR, not a roller where you can add any electronics. Of course, making a roller faster than an RTR isn't hard. RTR vs. RTR!
Oooooh at 8:16 do I see a Dark Blue Transit Connect cargo van?!?! That's my IRL ride and RC hauler! And Rlaarlo is definitely interesting, I've been a WL Toys fan since 2020, and have watched Rlaarlo grow. Being that the WL/Croboll/Rlaarlo family is all 'interbred', as it were, they are leveraging their experience (and maybe unintentionally exposing a few inner-circle rifts) with each new release. Conversely, each release has also been marred by some definite issues such as the non-adjustable drivetrain-destroying punch-brake ESC in the Omni Terminator! But these road cars are beasts - very little out there in the RTR world seems to be able to step up as Rlarrlo has.
Yes, the Transit is also my RC Hauler haha. Slowly turning it into a bit of day Van so I can load it up and get out filming with everything I need for the day.
I am not a Traxxas fan boy or Traxxas hater, but from what I have seen, the X01 is kind of only good for those straight line runs. I may be wrong, but if that's the case, I would much rather go with any of the Arrma on road speed cars. I havent had a Limitless either, but my Infraction is easy to get those speeds, plus it can take some fun on road bashing. As far as the Rlaarlo, I haven't had any of their speed cars, but from what I have seen, if you want a 1/10 speed car, you can beat it for the price! Just my stupid opinion...that paint job is wonderful!
Phil, great video. Certainly well worth all YOUR WORK to me. I hope you & your loved ones have a great holiday season. I love the Limitless V2. The one I bought was a roller/slider & I ended up putting a Vette C8 body on it with Castle XLX2 & 1721 motor. I regret not using the Limitless body…I think it would have been more stable AND I actually like the Limitless body very much.
Thanks for all the effort in making your videos! I enjoy watching them and learn a bit more almost every video. If I may suggest it would be entertaining to see a comparison of the fastest rc's in your line up side by side, even more so on a track(if there's such a track for those speed breakers! Thanks again, and enjoy seeing you in next video!
First, keep playing with the Limitless, and you should easily get it into the mid 100s (the current record, if I remember correctly, is 218mph). As for Arrma ever releasing a Limitless RTR, "never say never"...it could still happen. Now, as for the AK-787, first, thank you greatly for mentioning Rlaarlo. Talk about a great up-and-coming company, production super high quality products, at very reasonable prices. Edison (the founder & CEO) is breaking new grounds with his "we care more about quality than profit margins" philosophy. As for the Dual-Motor AK-787, Rlaarlo just made 10 units available...and, once those 10 are sold, more WILL be available on a per-order/per-request basis. It should also be noted that, in addition to their dual motor upgrade kit (which allows owners of the single-motor AK-787 to convert it to dual-motor), they also now offer a Complete Dual-Motor Conversion Kit, which allows owners of the AK-917 to convert it to dual motor. On top of that, they offer the complete conversion kit with, or without, electronics (ie. a second Rlaarlo ESC & motor. Now, I'm sure, there will be some who read my last 2 paragraphs, and will say, "That's all and good, but the AK series of cars from Rlaarlo are only 1/10 scale. What about something bigger?" Well...I can't give away too much info...but, what I am allowed to confirm is that Rlaarlo IS working on something bigger. And, by 'bigger', I'm not referring to another large-scale crawler. Even better, Rlaarlo is getting close to making an 'official' announcement. Arrma, Hobao, and Traxxas, look in your rear-view mirror, as 'something' is headed your way...........
great stuff phil. i would skip the RTR spektrum electronics all together. while it's good enough to get going there are some minor ESC programming tweaks that is missing for speed runs. the retail hobbywing stuff would work better...and obviously the castle stuff is for the ultimate speeds. i used the hobbywing max6 G2 with the 1650KV motor and it did 107mph on 6s. i have a video of this on my channel. 👍
Yup I have it and did the conversion its a bit expensive but this car goes straight as an arrow. I got 104 I think it was I know with better batteries it will go faster I had to wait 1 went bad and was on backorder
What a beautiful toy. I get why Arrma keeps it a roller. We buy it for speed runs, and I believe zero speed runners will be satisfied with RTR electronics. Maybe if they team with Castle or proper Hobbywing stuff.
Great video man. I think that Ralaarlo should be RC car company of the year. They are making some really cool stuff that people want. What's the big rock back there with the "On Sale" sticker on it?
Just to throw this out there and see what happens.... Have you ever considered starting your own brand of RC cars? I know there's a lot involved with such an undertaking but being someone who reviews/speed runs these things I can't think of anyone better qualified. I think if you were to assemble and ship R2R chassis they might just do pretty bloody well. What do you reckon?
Crazy talk, but I wonder if it would be possible to push Rlaarlo AK-787 to 200mph on dual motor 8s. If it would be even possible, it would require a lot of modifications and custom parts (like Limitless V2 which are running over 200mph), but that would be fun to see.
New York it’s freezing. We were spoiled. We had 80° weather for Halloween and it was just 60° a few days ago but now it’s below 30 and it’s gonna suck for the next few months for RC cars. I guess that’s when I’ll go back into either video games or the red cat Lowriders and mess with them or mess with the indoor crawlers
