THAT is how you start a movie! I've watched hundreds of movies and this is the best opening I've ever seen. This title sequence was made by Kyle Cooper, the same guy who did the credits on the "Mummy" films.
I remember the great moment when my Dad and I went to IMAX Theater, they had the decorated the Superman Symbol before you enter to watch the movie. In 2005 I keep begging my dad saying let’s watch Superman. To be honest I keep watching Superman in cartoon, but I rather see it in real life version. My favorite part was the opening scene with the theme song and your like riding around and across the universe. It was awesome and of course it give me the chills when the movie started. Superman is awesome.
I love Christopher Reeves, but Brandon Routh was my first experience with Superman. I'm glad that he donned the cape again in Crisis on Infinite Earths.
I just watched Superman Returns after so many years just 2 nights ago. I felt like a 2-year-old during this scene because I first watched this movie when I was 2 and haven’t seen it again since.
As soon as I saw my dad watching this on Netflix the memory’s came back and I praised when this part started to play when I started to watch it through my icon and I smiled and cried just knowing this is the first movie I’ve ever watched and I’m revisiting it in 2022 after so many years of not fully watching it just clips that obviously use parts of the Superman theme
Bryan Singer intended this movie to be a follow-up to the 1980 Richard Lester/Richard Donner film, "Superman II". He also wanted it to be as if "Superman III" and "Superman IV" never existed. Therefore, I think it's safe to say that this is the REAL "Superman III"! "Superman Returns" pays homage to the original 1978 movie, which is why you get that deja vue feeling as you watch. But at the same time, it is a different movie altogether. Can't wait for "Superman - The Man of Steel" in 2009!
The film made over 200 mil at the BO and Worldwide made more money than Batman Begins. People expected this to be the next Spiderman instead of just a successful movie which it was, they thought it was going to be SMASH like Spidey or Pirates.
I'm aurprised this version didn't catch everybody the way the first Spiderman movie did. I love this movie, I thin Bryan Singer did a great job and cannot WAIT for the second one to hit theaters!
As bad as some people think this movie is, while it was disappointing at the box office (not a flop), it was a critical success. Also, it has done well with DVD sales/rentals.
Eh, i personally enjoyed the movie. Was it what i was expecting? Definitely not. It turned out being something completely different, and surprisingly equally as wonderful as what i had been hoping for. Course, i think the fact that i was just about to become a father had this striking a personal chord with me.
I got a question. Why do people seem to seperate fans by saying 'Superman fans" and "Batman fans" as if they are rooting for different baseball teams? Are there not a lot of people who are fans of both characters and do not know which to like better?

The half-eaten planet with its double set of rings at 1:43 and 1:48 blew me away so much I just sat there STUNNED!
