      @@SailingParadiseFalls do you think it’s worth it to learn to use a sewing machine, but a sailrite, and make our stuff or just pay the 10-16k to have it all done professionally?

    • @SailingParadiseFalls
      @SailingParadiseFalls  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Because of the remote areas we are going to be heading, we opted to get a sailrite. Shannon has done a great job making cushion covers and some other items. We are about to tackle the sun cover for the jib! But there are some jobs that we left to the professionals, like the helm enclosure and sail repairs. I would say, if you were going to cruise the Bahamas and Caribbean, you probably don't need a sailrite. If you are going to venture towards less traveled waters, it probably is a good idea to have one.

    You are doing great with the content and staying on a regular release schedule. The end of each episode has a teaser for what's coming next and that is excellent! Looking forward to seeing all the repairs and add-ons coming in the next few weeks...
    When do you expect to actually set sail? End of October?

    Everyone, including kids, should have a hand at moving and docking - you never know when it will be required. Hand signals should also be worked out for when you can’t be heard. Once you get used to it, it will be just like driving a car…well almost..

    Great job team! We are new subscribers and keep our boat in St. simons Is Ga. St. Augustine is our sailing playground we love to visit. We’re enjoying seeing your adventures. We laugh at your communications and would advise to get a set of “marriage savers” that are Bluetooth headsets to increase your communication effectiveness when one person is at the bow and another at the helm. We’ve used these for 6 years and we’re happily married 40 years now😀. Keep the videos coming as we are learning from you all!

      Hi neighbor! We actually do have marriage savers but somebody forgot to charge them 😫 Thank you SO much for watching and leaving your comments. We hope to show people the UPS AND downs of this lifestyle. That is what I wanted to see as we were preparing g for the adventure, thanks for following along!!

    .... good job team, all three of you were right in there .... always good to have a few break-in maneuvers when it is calm to get the feel for things .. there are a lot of people that are years in and you would think that docking for them was like public speaking .... 20% corkage on any work done is pretty rich, good job on finding a better solution ... thx for the share .. as always .. never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .. have fun be safe, save our oceans .....

      @@AbNomal621 I completely occur with the lessons...but the marriage savers are there so no need to yell across the boat...they just improve the opportunity to communicate, now how one communicates. I did see in the promo for the upcoming that they have marriage savers.

    You did very well hitting that buoy in a current, nicely done! One of the hardest things while mooring - NOT using that big damn wheel when going slow. You will get that figured out with practice. Fair winds...

      @@SailingParadiseFalls Find a nice, quiet flat bay, anchor the dinghy or just a fender & practice coming to it, backing to it, port side & starboard side. No pressure with no one around, no tight spaces & let your son try! Fair winds....
