As a Scotsman who played rugby union his whole life, I absolutely love watching rugby league and wish I had played it myself. NRL in particular is just fantastic!! I hope this concept in USA will continue to grow and I for one will be glued!!
Unfortunately basically no advertising was done here in America before this event. No TV ads at all. The ones posted on the NRL social media never aired here. The Russell Crowe video wasn't aired here. Besides the halftime appearance at the Raiders game and an ad in Times Sq the week before, zilch.
Reminder that all the pundits that are raving about Vegas were flown there and had expenses paid for lol. It wasn’t a US success - low TV ratings and low number of Americans in attendance. Crowd was mostly Aussies and global league fans. Or Americans that were offered tickets for cheap lol.
@@haydengoodall6767 So start with small acorns not try to start at the top of the tree. Without roots nothing succeeds longterm. Study how Union has grown internationally using Tests as their window with a lot of grassroots work lifting countries like Argentina from virtually nothing to a true international force.
It's going to explode in the next few years. Every American who watches a game either at the hame, live on TV or an old replay - they become an instant fan. There's an untapped audience just hoping that something different comes along & i can see the NRL being huge over there. And just look at the countless minor leagues of huge players & very fast players who would most certainly take up the challenge to make it to the top grades , especially those who know they'll never get the NFL call up
commentators getting excited that the desk they sat at will be at next years superbowl. Guess for a commentator that's their version of meeting Michael Jordan, wonder how many took selfies of themselves sitting at it?
@@iamarohax it going be a great weekend and experience for not just the Warriors but also the Sharks, Raiders and Reigning Champion The Penrith Panthers who are also chosen to play in Las Vegas next year Season Opener in Las Vegas.
There was no advertising or promotion here for it. If they actually promoted it, Americans would be interested. Denver got 20k, with minimal (by our standards) advertising, 99% Americans. That's an NBA/NHL/MLS crowd.
Peter V’landys’ only redeeming features are that he’s ambitious and has connections. Other than that, he’s completely clueless and so out of touch with what the game actually needs. Much prefer Abdo, who actually has some common sense and practicality. Vlandys’ isn’t smart and needs other people to tell him the answers to everything.
"Only" lol Those are two very important features, and connections is everything in business, and scaling! Let's be honest in 2020 there would be no game, like the AFL was banned, while PVL thanks to his contacts got approval for a full body contact sport and moving people around the country when this was illegal, and strictly enforced in Australia!! Genuis, and priceless!!

Thank you Fox ...Thank you NRL. We will grow 🙏
1st game should have been Chooks vs Bunnies - over 100 years of bitter rivalry
From 38:40 to 38:50 wow - the best 10 seconds of my life - Thank you Fox sports and NRL - Wow!!! Now that's production!!! 😳🥰👌👌👌💥
Why? It’s just a panning shot of the stadium, doesn’t seem like much. Are you in the shot or something? Just curious

Big time! It was hilarious hearing them all over there and when they got back about how amazing it was. The propaganda was so blantantly obvious
True- just a hyped up sort of circus show chasing USA gambling $.Hell even the field is not the right size.
It's mainly done for betting market. If they gain at least 10% of the betting market then the venture will be a success.
Maybe so... But from small acorns do Oak trees grow. Ya gotta start somewhere.

NRL is holding the development of international test footy back.

Is there any more footage of the teams?
Yeah sure buddy they will get it just for you
@Palmwhat yes there is you clown. The Roostrs, and Manly both did pre season documentary series.
Good on ya NRL grow the sport
And dont forget this game came from the hard workers in the north of england who stood up to rugby union

Would it be too expensive for every team to go over to start the nrl season
It's interesting that FOX is removing comments that they don't like here if it goes against their ambitions. I can't find my first masterpiece.

this was good
Love it. Hoping for more success for "our little game" aka the Greatest Game of All. 🤜🤛
It wasn’t a success in terms of getting Americans to watch rugby league . The US have there own sports and will always be devoted to them .

It needs to have a 'sustained' interest which is unlikely in the US.
Baby steps.....watch the NRL crawl and walk before it runs in the US

Fixing the officiating is more important than this
You would be more successful with rugby league in Greece then you would the US
