Here's brief explanations of the eight parts of speech in English:
    1. **Noun:** A word that represents a person, place, thing, or idea. Example: dog, city, happiness.
    2. **Pronoun:** A word that takes the place of a noun. Example: he, she, it, they.
    3. **Verb:** A word that expresses action, occurrence, or a state of being. Example: run, think, is.
    4. **Adjective:** A word that describes or modifies a noun or pronoun. Example: red, happy, tall.
    5. **Adverb:** A word that describes or modifies a verb, adjective, or another adverb. Example: quickly, very, well.
    6. **Preposition:** A word that shows the relationship between a noun (or pronoun) and another word in the sentence. Example: in, on, under.
    7. **Conjunction:** A word that connects words, phrases, or clauses. Example: and, but, or.
    8. **Interjection:** A word or phrase used to express strong emotion. Example: Wow! Ouch! Hey!
Understanding these parts of speech helps in constructing grammatically correct and meaningful sentences.

@@mahbubkhan8189 The articles/determiners are not often considered to be a part of speech, because people consider them as a subcategory of the adjectives.

Thank you, Gill, so very much for this well-taught lesson! Taught well, learned well, isn't it? 🙂 I adore the way you pronounce every sound! It seems like younger people have been striving to squeeze volumes of information into every single second of the speaking process, thus firing words sooooo rapidly that it's hardly ever possible to make out the very sense of whatever is being spoken of! 🤷‍♂️ And I mean all nations, not English-speaking community only 🙂. You keep traditions of good old manners in spoken language. It soothes my mind and improves my English! 👍

I got to brush up on my Swedish grammar as well.
It's basically the same though the names are sometimes slightly different
    In Swedish it's
    Verb
    Adjektiv
    Adverb
    Konjunktion
    Bestämd (definite) Artikel
    Obestämd (indefinte) Artikel
    Pronomen
    Preposition
I'm 50 years old and I've never thought about that the word verb is part of the word adverb!🤦‍♀️😂
p.s would you do a video on sentence structure in English please.🙏

The fast-running 10-year-old did quite well in the competition.
In this sentence _10-year-old_ is a noun and _fast-running_ is an adjective, but if I don't hyphenate it? Would 'fast running' still be one adjective or would 'fast' be an adverb and 'running' an adjective? Also adverbs can describe not only verbs but adjectives and other adverbs too (QUITE well).
There are words that belong to more than one category like _who, where, that._
And there's one part of speech you didn't mention: numerals.
